First of all, Mailman 2.1 >=2.1.26 already has the ability to add Google
reCAPTCHA to the subscribe form and >= 2.1.30 can add text based
captchas (aka textchas) to the subscribe form. See

beginning at line 134 for the documentation of the mm_cfg.py settings to
enable one or both of these.
If you want to add your own, look at
