Bug ID: 464931
Summary: Loan: Scheduled transaction have incorrect minus (-)
sign.
Classification: Applications
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

Split loan transaction details

SUMMARY
I have an existing outstanding loan with incoming payments. Somewhere in the
last couple of AppImage releases, the scheduled transactions have the plus (+)
sign swapped for minus (-). And now the total value is screwed up.
This means that I now have to enter into each transaction to edit the split
details.

See the screenshot for the reverse sign details:
The original transaction value is +241.58 (see [1])
The amortization and interest value used to be positive (+158.57 and +83.01).
Now they have become negative (see [2]), resulting in a total value of negative
-241,58 (see [3]).

Hi Thomas,
I'm not sure, what you exactly mean, but I think you mean the output on the
console, when I start the software by typing "kmymoney" in the console instead
of clicking the icon, correct?
If yes, please find the attached the reports of both systems.

And by the way: when I click on any icon in the software or open the reports,
the output doesn't get longer.

Implement setting for reconciliation headers

This setting allows to suppress display of all reconciliation headers,
suppress all of them but the last one or to display all available.

Yes, that was the information I was asking for. It does not reveal any
suspicious action, which is good.

Nevertheless, I somehow get the impression, that we understand something else
when we (you and I) talk about a "report" here. I am not 100% sure, but could
it be that you miss the stocks in the accounts view? What exactly are you
looking at in the application when you see the difference between the two
installations? In case you use a German UI, use the German words. I think, I am
pretty fluent in this language to understand it ;)

You are right - if we are not sure, if we talk about the same problem, it's
quiet difficult to find the problem and a solution in the end.
So, I have attached a few screenshots for you to show, what I mean (the view on
the reports, the faulty report and the correct report). On my PC I have changed
the language to make it easier for us. :-)

Besser nicht, it would give most other people a hard time to follow.

Can you compare the setting "Show equity accounts" (could be shown as
"Eigenkapitalkonten anzeigen") in Settings/General/Filter. Do they differ? Does
it have an effect when changed?

Could it be, that the selection for the symbol column is out of range? Can you
attach the file $HOME/.config/kmymoney/csvimporterrc (the most personal info in
there are your profile names) and a sample CSV file that shows the crash here
(does not need to be real data - it should only reproduce the crash)?

[kmymoney] [Bug 464949] New: Data in forecast chart disappears based on resolution (ticks) of the date range

2023-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply--- via KMyMoney-devel

Bug ID: 464949
Summary: Data in forecast chart disappears based on resolution
(ticks) of the date range
Classification: Applications
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux

Example of the bug on chequing account charts

SUMMARY
When creating a forecast chart of a chequing account for the next 18 months,
some data seems to disappear depending on the resolution (tick) of the date
range.

See attached screenshot. The date range is kept identical only the "ticks" is
changed between daily & weekly... I understand the "shape" of the chart
changes because KMM calculates the forecast balance on a weekly basis instead
of daily basis but the fact that the balance randomly becomes "zero" for a
certain date range doesnt make sense... On the attached screenshot, the
balance is set to zero from the opening to the month of July...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a forecast chart
2. Set ticks to something
3. Change ticks to something else

OBSERVED RESULT
Data will disappear from the chart

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the shape of the chart should change to fit with balances calculated based
on the selected "ticks" value...

The result is an interesting switcheroo: The splits become positive. So even
thought the transaction is an incoming payment, I've entered it as a withdrawal
and the money is added to the account/category correctly.
