[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1868474] Re: Lenovo ThinkPad P73 touchpad does not work *after* installation

2020-04-12 Thread zob
Hi D.

Can you try uninstalling the nvidia-drivers from the "Additional
Drivers" interface, just by choosing the nouveau drivers. Then reboot.
Does the touchpad work now?

Then you might have a similar issue as I do on the P50:

Title:
Lenovo ThinkPad P73 touchpad does not work *after* installation

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The installation scripts loads the correct drivers so the touch pad
and pointer works during the install. However after the install
  neither work.

I've worked around it by using a wireless USB from Vilros for mouse input
while logging in. Then issuing (found on
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1143663):
   sudo 'echo -n "elantech">/sys/bus/serio/devices/serio1/protocol'

So it's a bug for me but one I can work around and should be fixed before
20.04 goes live.

Should there be an else if (IS_SANDYBRIDGE (dev)... ) or something like that in
the patch mentioned at comment #86 ?
At least, I'm also seeing this on sandy bridge

I am fairly frequently (maybe once every 2 days) seeing screen
lockups. The system is fine, and then screen locks up. mouse is still
movable and even changes icon based on content under it (ie mouse over
link changes to pointing hand). Programs are still running (often
this occurs during a google hangout, and the hangout, audio and mic
  seem to work fine).

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1971567] Re: TPM breaks resume from suspend

2022-05-22 Thread zob
I see a similar issue on Lenovo Thinkpad P50. If TPM/Security Chip is on
in BIOS, I cannot turn off the computer in the normal way. I seems to
shot down and screen becomes black, but it is still running (hot) and
power led is on. I can then turn if off by pressing power button for 5
seconds. I didn't see this issue before upgrading from 20.04 to 22.04.

OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS x86_64
Host: 20EQS0PQ00 ThinkPad P50

Title:
  TPM breaks resume from suspend

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After upgrading Lenovo Thinkpad X260 from 21.10 to 22.04, following
  error shows at boot:

[4.830657] tpm tpm0: Operation Timed out
  [ 11.654699] tpm tpm0: Operation Timed out
  [ 11.654718] tpm_crb: probe of MSFT0101:00 failed with error -62

Notable consequence is that the laptop will not resume from suspend
any more, even with the power button pressed.

After disabling TPM ("Security Chip" in Lenovo BIOS) completely,
  everything works normal.
