[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun
Do we have actually somebody assigned to this report? I've been playing with the module parameters but nothing seem to be helping. I added the debug parameter today, because none of the i915.enable_hangcheck=1 i915.error_capture=1 i915.verbose_state_checks=1 were helpful. Should I fill a bug report at Freedesktop? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1838141] Re: intel_pstate not working. CPU frequency fixed at 800MHz. No cpu frequency scaling.
Hello there, I'd like to just note, that I had the same problem with 18.04 LTS HWE (5.0.0-23-generic) and an i5-8350U, but mine was clocking around 3.6GHz on each core. Upgrade to 5.0.0-31-generic has resolved this issue with intel_pstate driver, but using the kernel parameter intel_pstate=disable was a usable workaround as well. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun
Hi Timo, I wanted to try the AMD64 version at: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-tip/2019-11-14/. But only unsigned kernels are shipped and I couldn't switch from UEFI or boot unsigned kernels, because it's a corporate machine. Do you have any ideas? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun
I just recently created another report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1848123). So I'm using an HP 840 G5, connected with USB TypeC to Dock G4 which feeds two DP screens. After each wake from S3 sleep, both displays are flickering and all the cores are clocked to 3,6GHz if I use the intel_pstate driver, the lid is closed. Only a cold boot helps this time. I'll have a look on the Kernel parameters soon and update you. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun
This time I've added 'i915.enable_psr=0 i915.enable_dc=0 i915.enable_fbc=0' to the kernel parameters. In the current session I had to manually reconnect the notebook to the docking station and after a few seconds, the displays came back to life. No flickering at all, it just took a little bit more time to came alive. Previously I could manage the external displays to work this way, but these remain flickering even after 20 minutes. But the CPU is clocked to 3.6GHz, kworker/0:1-kacpi_notify keep spiking the processor, I assume the lid open and close has triggered such action. In the meanwhile set the ACPI module to debug mode and I can see these messages in the dmesg, seems to be some general purpose events but I couldn't find such (hex or dec) numeric ID in the linux/drivers/platform/x86 /trace_state), there are a lot of executions: [ +0,000166] extrace-0141 ex_trace_point: Method Begin [0x3e97f7df:\_GPE._L69] execution. [ +0,03] extrace-0141 ex_trace_point: Method End [0x3e97f7df:\_GPE._L69] execution. What could be this address? This system seems to laggy and the CPU is around 70 oC, normally it would be somewhere around 40-50 oC. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1550779] Re: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun
Just a small update: I have been using i915.enable_psr=0 i915.enable_dc=0 i915.enable_fbc=0 i915.enable_dp_mst=1 parameters for a few days, but except the very first or first two days when I unplugged the docking station, it doesn't helped at all. So I decided to add error_capture=1 (record the GPU state following a hang) and a few days later complete it with a manual/udev disable for the i915 rc6. The kernel parameter has been removed (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1573482), however the function is still in the driver (/sys/class/drm/card0/power/rc6_enable:1). [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1707695] Re: radeon 0000:03:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 10000msec
Hello guys! I just got an update for you. So at the very first time I enabled the experimental GPU accelerations in the Chromium. That time was really problematic, a local email provider's website caused a lot of lockups. Since we disabled the experimental flags in Chromium, the errors has gone. You can have a try or even disable default enabled GPU features. I hope it helps, cheers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1707695 Title: radeon :03:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 1msec Status in Linux: Confirmed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: My system intermittently locks up every few days. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1707695] Re: radeon 0000:03:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 10000msec
Hello there! I experienced absolutely the same with an older Sapphire Radeon HD5450. The system is a freshly installed Xubuntu 16.04.3 LTS. I just installed the xserver-xorg-video-ati-lts-xenial package but this didn't resolv the problem. Currently the AMD64 4.10.0-30-generic is installed on an older Asus 775 motherboard. Do we have any other ideas? I don't think the mainline kernel can solve anything, seems like 4.4 and 4.10 is involved in this case. I think it's more likely a DRM/Mesa/Xorg related bug. I we can't figure out anything I will jump to the 17.04 version, however I'd like to stay in the LTS version Thank you -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1707695 Title: radeon :03:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 1msec Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: My system intermittently locks up every few days. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 2020183] Re: i915 keeps crashing with "pipe state doesn't match!" in verify_crtc_state
Hello Daniel. I've filled two new bugs, which possible related to this one. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/2036160 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/2036159 I identified some new type of behaviors with this problem: * this latest kernel is not always able to print the kernel messages to all three monitors, sometimes I need to restart the OS while booting to see the boot on the screen (noquiet text) * if all three monitors are showing the boot, the login manager not shows the anything on the DP-2-2-2 output, which is connected with a DP-DP cable from the docking station. ** the native HDMI from the notebook and the native HDMI from the docking station works mostly all the time * if all three monitors are showing the boot and the login manager can be seen on all theree monitors, the display manager will show the screen on all three if the $HOME/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml file contains only the displays for that setup ** if some fallback or other displays are in the config file, the DP-2-2-2 output remain black. however xrandr shows that it's configured and used. I can only get this work if I reconnect the DP cable If works, that it's mostly flawless, but if the kernel boot or login manager or desktop cannot be seen - as I mentioned in the list - only the reconnect works. I hope it helps you to understand this situation better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-hwe-6.2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2020183 Title: i915 keeps crashing with "pipe state doesn't match!" in verify_crtc_state Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux-hwe-6.2 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm using a Docking station with two displays (1 HDMI + 1 DP) and one HDMI to the machine's port.
