[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2002105] [NEW] 5.15.0-57 update breaks arrow (mouse) movement in some games (steam through proton)

2023-01-06 Thread gdp77
Public bug reported:

Since this update 5.15.0-57 the cursor movement in some of the games I
play is broken. For example in Supreme Commander 2 the arrow vanishes
for a split second and reappears in the next split second, while moving
the mouse.

The problem is not there when I revert to 5.15.0-56.

I can't give any other information to help.

I didn't noticed this behavior in desktop apps at the moment.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1996740] Re: 5.15.0-53-generic no longer boots

2022-11-18 Thread gdp77
Any news on officially updating the problematic kernel?

I don't like installing "hacked" kernels on my main system.

Bug description:
  == SRU Justification ==
  [Impact]
"UBUNTU: SAUCE: Revert "drm/amd/display: Add helper for blanking all dp
displays" caused AMD Navi10 GFX to panic at boot.

  [Fix]
Backport the revised version of "drm/amd/display: Add helper for
  blanking all dp displays".

  [Test]
Users confirmed the issue went away with this fix.
We also verified the original issue we fixed didn't reappear.

  [Where problems could occur]
We didn't test all the combination of dce110/dcn10/dcn30/dcn31, so many
cases are untested, hence the potential risk is there.

Title:
No video output with Kernel 5.15.0-53-lowlatency

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Since kernel update to 5.15.0-53-lowlatency, I get no output at all
anymore on the monitor. The monitor says 'No Signal'. Also when trying
to change to a console with CTRL-ALT-F1 no output.

When booting to the still installed previous version
5.15.0-52-lowlatency, all works as expected, and equally so when
booting to a self compiled kernel 5.15.73-rt52.

  System is Xubuntu 22.04 LTS.

The debug output is from booting with kernel -52.
