[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1960377] [NEW] bluetooth stop working on Jammy kernel 5.15

2022-02-08 Thread Wouter van Bommel
Public bug reported:

When upgrading from focal to Jammy the 5.15 kernel is installed and
bluetooth stopped working.

relevant dmesg ouput:
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Reading Intel version command
failed (-110)
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command tx timeout

Searching for a possible cause I found:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=271459
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=344560
https://lkml.org/lkml/2021/12/28/145

Which does indicate that it is a regression to the 5.15 kernel, and that
patches are available (and inlined in newer releases)

Title:
bluetooth stop working on Jammy kernel 5.15

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When upgrading from focal to Jammy the 5.15 kernel is installed and
  bluetooth stopped working.

  relevant dmesg ouput:
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Reading Intel version
command failed (-110)
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command tx timeout

Searching for a possible cause I found:

  https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=344560
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2021/12/28/145

Which does indicate that it is a regression to the 5.15 kernel, and
that patches are available (and inlined in newer releases)

Title:
bluetooth stop working on Jammy kernel 5.15

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When upgrading from focal to Jammy the 5.15 kernel is installed and
  bluetooth stopped working.

  relevant dmesg ouput:
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Reading Intel version
command failed (-110)
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command tx timeout

Searching for a possible cause I found:

  https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=344560
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2021/12/28/145

Which does indicate that it is a regression to the 5.15 kernel, and
that patches are available (and inlined in newer releases)

Title:
bluetooth stop working on Jammy kernel 5.15

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When upgrading from focal to Jammy the 5.15 kernel is installed and
  bluetooth stopped working.

  relevant dmesg ouput:
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: Reading Intel version
command failed (-110)
Feb 09 09:46:32 hyperion kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command tx timeout

Searching for a possible cause I found:

  https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=344560
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2021/12/28/145

Which does indicate that it is a regression to the 5.15 kernel, and
that patches are available (and inlined in newer releases)

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1964722] [NEW] sleep no longer working since upgrade to jammy development

2022-03-13 Thread Wouter van Bommel
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to jammy (development) sleep is no longer working.
Symptoms are that the laptop will attempt to sleep, but the system never
goes to the actual standby, but hangs, using lots of power and the fans
start spinning.

The powerbutton becomes unresponsive and the only way to get back to a
running system is by a hard reset.

Since zfs (encrypted) is used as a root system also tried the zfs-dkms
but that didn't make a difference.

Problem occurs both with the generic and the low latency kernel. There
where no problems with either version on Focal.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1978392] [NEW] Filesystem goes to read-only after long sleep

2022-06-11 Thread Wouter van Bommel
Public bug reported:

If the laptop is slept of a long time > 12h on battery, the system will
wake up, but the filesystem is read-only.

Running dmesg is not possible as this results in an I/O error, so it
seems that it is related to the nvme driver / disk.

Running the 5.18 kernel from launchpad gives similar results, with that
kernel the nvme also stops working after battery sleep.

The problem doesn't happen when the laptop sleeps, but is connected to the
mains power, sleep isn't affected.
