[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1309754] Re: Network interfaces not working with kernel 3.13.0-24-generic

2014-10-07 Thread Theodotos Andreou
I am not sure what you mean by default vs mainline. Should I file the
bug using the affected computer or another working one?

I can file a new bug if that's necessary but I am not sure if you are
going to get the correct information since I patched it using this hairy
hack here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1276211&page=4&p=8021944#post8021944

Should I file the bug anyway?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1378690] [NEW] 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller UNCLAIMED on Ubuntu

2014-10-08 Thread Theodotos Andreou
Public bug reported:

I am currently using 14.04 but I have tested this from 10.04
(downloaded from oldreleases) to the beta 14.10 and the bug is still
there. 32 or 64 bit releases do not seems to make any difference.

I solved the issue temporarily by downloading the sources from Intel and
applying the following procedure:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1276211&page=4&p=8021944#post8021944

This however is a temporary fix and the patch will have to be re-applied
on the next kernel update.

This are my network interfaces. Wireless worked fine even after applying
the above mentioned patch:

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1378690] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad T60] 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller UNCLAIMED on Ubuntu

2014-10-09 Thread Theodotos Andreou
@Brad. I cannot run the command you propose because I have no
connectivity. And if I run the command on the patched kernel you will
probably not see what you are looking for.

Guys I don't have that computer to proceed with the test. I gave it back
to the client so I can't send the data they want.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1421531] [NEW] Kernel livepatch infrastructure in Ubuntu Server?

2015-02-12 Thread Theodotos Andreou
Public bug reported:

It has been announced that the livepatch infrastructure has been merged
to the official Linux kernel tree. This is a system that can patch a
live kernel without the need for a reboot. It will be available on the
3.20 kernel tree.
