[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1441852] Re: [HP Spectre x360 - 13-4010ca] Audio broken, broadwell-U audio controller

2016-02-22 Thread Nicolae Istratii
Sam Brookfield, which model version do you have? the new ones use intel core-i
6th gen CPU and the bug is for the old ones with 5th gen.
Sound still doesn't work for me (without the grub fix), with official ubuntu
15.10 kernel, latest hp bios and also it's the same with latest 4.4 kernel.

Strange that nobody else reported to be affected by the same bug yet.
I will have time to report upstream only after 20th July.

2015-07-20 Thread Nicolae Istratii
Just got my hands back on the machine and after updates, reboot and
suspend/unsuspend I can no longer replicate this issue (which is kind of sad,
since I would prefer to play with it for some time...it's boring when
everything just works).
Anyway, thank you for your attention and time!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1510789] [NEW] No sound card detected

2015-10-27 Thread Nicolae Istratii
Public bug reported:

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 15.10
Release:15.10

apt-cache policy linux-image-generic
linux-image-generic:
  Installed: 4.2.0.17.19

500 http://mirror.as43289.net/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages

I expect the sound card to be detected without additional modification of boot
options.
The sound card is not detected unless the following line in /etc/default/grub
is adjusted to look so
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi='!Windows 2013'
acpi_osi='!Windows 2012'"
