[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1787260] Re: efifb: cannot reserve video memory at 0xe0000000

2018-08-16 Thread Naeil ZOUEIDI
I have tried to reproduce the same behavior that you got but with no
luck.

BTW, I am testing with v4.18 linux kernel.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1793022] Re: Cannot connect to wifi after kernel update 4.15.0-29 to 4.15.0-34

2018-09-17 Thread Naeil ZOUEIDI
AFAIR, this bug happened to me in Lenovo Thinkpad T430.

However, the bug is already confirmed in the kernel ML.

Please, could you attach the log files like the Ubuntu Kernel Bot says
above.

Thanks,
nzoueidi

Title:
Cannot connect to wifi after kernel update 4.15.0-29 to 4.15.0-34

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I experienced the same problem on two different Dell Laptops (an old
dell 640m and a newer Dell E7450). After fresh install of Ubuntu
18.04.1 wifi and network work flawlessly but after routine kernel
update (from 4.15.0-29.31 to 4.15.0-34.37) network manager correctly
show wireless networks but cannot establish a connection. Rebooting
with previous kernel (4.15.0-29) fix the problem and I had to set it
as default in grub. Please find attached the report obtained running
ubuntu-bug linux after booting the latest kernel. Bug symptoms look
similar to those described for bug 1788997 but as far as I understand
  they do not seem related.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1807469] Re: Bionic update: upstream stable patchset 2018-12-07

2018-12-08 Thread Naeil ZOUEIDI
Is it regression from the mainline linux kernel? Cause as far as I see
it is just related to Ubuntu.

Bionic update: upstream stable patchset 2018-12-07

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in linux source package in Bionic:

Bug description:
  SRU Justification

  Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or
a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream
stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel:

upstream stable patchset 2018-12-07 (ported from v4.14.53 and v4.17.4)
