[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1416849] Re: Booted into blank screen after the security update
Hi, I've just done the latest security update, but the same problem exists with the newly installed(updated) v. 3.13.0-46 kernel. Also on ASUS X200MA. The hardware configurations are the same as reported above. I expect further developments. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1416849] Re: Booted into blank screen after the security update
Thanks for your advice, Christopher. I've just done the BIOS update and tested booting. With the 3.13.0-45 and 3.13.0-46 kernel: The backlight turns off (as normal boot process) and on with some oddly scrambled lines, then the screen generally becomes white. While the screen whiting out, the log in drum rings. With the 3.13.0-44 kernel, my laptop boots successfully. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1159065] Re: kernel hard freezes unless processor.max_cstates=1 is used
I have the same problem on Acer Aspire 5750 (Intel Core i5 2410M / Intel HD Graphics 3000). No sings of overworking, every month for me (maybe equivalent to 24-48 hours). The system version is 12.04.2 LTS and I tried normal 3.2 kernel and 3.5 Quantal HWE kernel; the same happened with both of them.
