Bug ID: 492763
Summary: [Feature Request] Option to exclude proxy files from
project archive
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.08.0
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: steph...@m-42.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi!

I couldn’t find an easy way to NOT include proxy clips when I do a project
archive. I have to deactivate the proxy for each clip before doing an archive
ortherwise they are included in the archive. I do not need the proxy clips in
the archive because if I archive the original video files, the proxy can be
regenerated from them when needed.

I think adding a check box with «Do not include proxy clips» when archiving a
project would be a great addon.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

[kdenlive] [Bug 496681] New: Initial Jpeg rotation different if proxy is activated or not

2024-11-25 Thread steph
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496681

Bug ID: 496681
Summary: Initial Jpeg rotation different if proxy is activated
or not
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.08.3
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Project Bin & Import
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Image with different rotation when proxy is activated or not

When I import a particular picture taken with an iphone ( IMG_6296.JPG in
attachment), the image appears vertical in the project bin and in the project
monitor. If I activate the proxy for this image, the image is still vertical in
the project bin but now horizontal in the project monitor. Which means if I use
proxies to edit my video, the image looks fine because I see it horizontal like
I want it to be, but when I calculate the final video the proxies are not used
and the image appears vertical in the final output. So the final renders is
different than what I see on my timeline.

My guess is that kdenlive and the proxy calculator use the EXIF data
differently to rotate the image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start a new project
2. add IMG_6296.JPG to the project bin
3. add IMG_6296.JPG to the timeline
4. Click on the timeline to preview the timeline in the monitor
Note that the image (IMG_6296.JPG) appears to be vertical.
5. Click the image in the project bin and activate proxy for this image
Note that the image is now vertical in the project bin, but horizontal in
the monitor.

OBSERVED RESULT
The image changes its orientation when proxy is activated or not

EXPECTED RESULT
The image should not change orientation because I activate proxy on it.

[kdenlive] [Bug 498287] New: Thumbnail of picture clip in project bin still shows proxy icon when proxy desactivated

2025-01-05 Thread steph
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498287

Bug ID: 498287
Summary: Thumbnail of picture clip in project bin still shows
proxy icon when proxy desactivated
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.12.0
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

Screenshot showing proxy icon ON when proxy is OFF

SUMMARY
The thumbnail for a picture clip (jpeg) in the project bin always shows the
yellow "P" icon for proxy, even if proxy is disabled on that particular clip.
That occurs only if the clip is used in the timeline. See screenshot in
attachment.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a new project
2. Click "Add clip or folder" and select a picture (jpeg) as a new clip
3. Using the context menu on that clip in the project bin enable/disable proxy
and observe that the "P" icon is visible when proxy is enabled and invisible if
proxy is disabled, thus working fine.
4. Place the picture clip on the timeline.
5. Repeat step 3 and observe that the "P" icon is always shown even if in the
context menu proxy is not selected.

OBSERVED RESULT
Yellow "P" proxy icon is always visible in project bin on a picture clip even
if proxy is disabled (only if clip is used in timeline)

EXPECTED RESULT
Yellow "P" proxy icon should not be visible in the project bin if proxy is not
activated no matter if the clip is used or not

[kdenlive] [Bug 498178] New: Hiding a track in an embeded sequence changes the duration of the sequence in parent sequence

2025-01-02 Thread steph
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498178

Bug ID: 498178
Summary: Hiding a track in an embeded sequence changes the
duration of the sequence in parent sequence
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.12.0
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Timeline & Editing
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: steph...@m-42.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In a project with two sequences and with "sequence 2" embeded in "sequence 1",
if I Hide/show tracks while editing "sequence 2", the duration of "sequence 2"
embeded in "sequence 1" changes. Even If the tracks are set back to visible in
"sequence 2", this does not reset original duration in "sequence 1".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a new project
2. Add a new sequence, name it sequence 2
3. Add a new clip to the bin (can be a color clip)
4. Add the clip to sequence 2
5. Add sequence 2 once or multiple times to sequence 1
6. Go back editing sequence 2 and hide the track with the clip (also mute the
sound if it has sound)
7. Click on sequence 1 and observe the duration of sequence 2 has changed
everywhere it was used and is now set to 1 frame.
8. Going back to sequence 2 and unhiding the hidden tracks does reset the
duration of sequence 2 in sequence 1 to what it was before. So hiding/showing
tracks in an embeded sequence destroys the editing done in parent sequence.

OBSERVED RESULT
Hiding tracks in embeded sequence changes duration of the sequence everywhere
its used.

EXPECTED RESULT
Duration of the sequence should not be changed and only the visibility should
be affected
