[plasmashell] [Bug 366480] New: Restore ability to fix the position of launched application whose launcher was manually sorted
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366480 Bug ID: 366480 Summary: Restore ability to fix the position of launched application whose launcher was manually sorted Product: plasmashell Version: 5.7.3 Platform: Other OS: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: deonix+...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org In KDE 5.7.2 (or maybe earlier?) I noticed a fantastic change where by whenever you launched an application that had a manually sorted launcher, it would always open in a fixed position that corresponds to where the launcher icon was (ala the Windows task bar). e.g. if you had Chromium as your first launcher, opening it would leave the other launchers to the right of the chrome window, and this would persist across restarts. I've been wanting this feature for many years in KDE and was happy to finally see it come to KDE. However, after updating to plasma 5.7.3, the feature (or bug?) was removed and the behaviour reverted back to how it was previously. I would like to see this added as an option if possible. I tried searching for the change on git (https://github.com/KDE/plasma-desktop/tree/master/applets/taskmanager) but could not locate it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable manual sorting with the taskbar and pin multiple application launchers 2. Open the first pinned application. Actual Results: The application opens to the right of the other launchers. Expected Results: The application opens where it's launcher is, and the other launchers (non-opened) remain to the right of the opened application. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367988 --- Comment #4 from deonix --- Strange, it occurs every time in any subfolder of the main folder for me. Is there a debug log that might help? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367988 --- Comment #2 from deonix --- Still occuring with the latest git master.
