Yes, I don't reboot unless changing hardware, kernel or something is 'broken'
rendering the system useless.  
I've just rebooted it and it now works.  Is it possible to write updates in a
way that does not require reboots?

SUMMARY
Dolphin refuses to display any content, local or remote.  

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select HOME, ROOT or any other local/remote directory
2. Closing Dolphin does not help.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Displays no files. Displays red banner: [Unable to create io-slave. klauncher
said: Error loading '/usr/lib/qt/plugins/kf5/kio/file.so'.]  File is present.

EXPECTED RESULT
Display files in requested folder
