[digikam] [Bug 366551] New: Unclear dialog when associating people to faces

2016-08-09 Thread Stefano via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366551

Bug ID: 366551
Summary: Unclear dialog when associating people to faces
   Product: digikam
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Management
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rs4...@gmail.com

When associating faces to pictures (after the process of face detection), the
dialog right now is pretty confusing:

- The name selection from list is quite OK
- There is a red cross button on the upper right corner for "this is not a
face"
- There is a "cross" button next to the check button, whose action is not
specified

IMVHO, there should be the following elements, one next to the other:

1. The person selection list, it would be nice if hovering the list would
highlight the entry like a normal combo
2. The "OK" button to confirm the typed name
3. A "Not-a-face" button, the upper-right corner overlay is too tiny and not
coherent
4. A "don't care" button for all those faces related to people you don't know
or you don't want to tag

[digikam] [Bug 366556] New: Add possibility to exclude an album (and possibily its children) from face detection

2016-08-09 Thread Stefano via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 366556
Summary: Add possibility to exclude an album (and possibily its
children) from face detection
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.0.0

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Management
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rs4...@gmail.com

It would be desirable to avoid face-detection on album trees and subtrees where
you don't care about face tagging: for example if you routinely shoot crowded
public events you'd likely avoid to have those albums scanned for faces, having
thousands of data to manually discard.

Reproducible: Always

Face detection/recognition options are not persistent, you need to adjust
accuracy level and options like "Work on all cores" every time you launch it.

Even if you choose the albums on which face detection should be done, it always
works on the entire collection.

[digikam] [Bug 366559] New: Wrong item counting in face detection view

2016-08-09 Thread Stefano via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366559

Bug ID: 366559
Summary: Wrong item counting in face detection view
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.0.0
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Management
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rs4...@gmail.com

When viewing the faces to detect, if you select only on item you'll get in
lower-left corner a counting of the current album items over the detected
faces, which is not useful and misleading: for example, "DSC03254.JPG (1684 of
2017)" where 1684 is the number of images in the album and 2034 is the total
number of faces to detect among the collection.

If you select two images, it correctly gives "2/2017 items selected".

Reproducible: Always

Ok, but the first is a number related to a single album, in a multi-album

You mean that it's an "or" selection? That's not very intuitive to me, it
should be better explained in the UI.

[digikam] [Bug 367642] New: IPTC/XMP metadata not saved to image on exit when Lazy Sync is on

2016-08-21 Thread Stefano via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367642

Bug ID: 367642
Summary: IPTC/XMP metadata not saved to image on exit when Lazy
Sync is on
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.1.0
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Metadata
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rs4...@gmail.com

I've just found that when you have "Lazy Synchronization" enabled, when you tag
a face in the image, the following occurs:

1. If you MANUALLY write the pending changes with the dedicated button,
IPTC/XMP tags are saved to the image correctly
2. If you exit digikam, the XMP (with the face region) won't be saved to the
image as advertised: you will have the face tagged (probably because it's in
digikam DB), but NOT in the file itself.

Reproducible: Always

Yes, because the default is both SQLite as source and destination, and if you
unluckily press the confirm button, it tries to migrate it... without checking
that both source and destination point to the same file, ending in a voiding of
the database.

[digikam] [Bug 368125] New: No hint when adding face within album view

2016-09-01 Thread Stefano via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 368125
Summary: No hint when adding face within album view

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

When you add a face tag in album view, typing a name does not show the list of
similar tags, like it does in face detection pane: this forces you to type the
whole name instead of clicking on the suggestion list.

Instead, it shows the full list of tags: first, the combo is too little, and
anyway the full list of tags (with tree view) is pretty useless in that
context.
