Also on FC23. Still seeing crashes after the various updates (updates-testing
enabled)

PS why is this bug marked as resolved upstream?
I don't think it is!

Sorry, had not seen the QT5.6 reference.

I will try it, but first I'm testing the latest 5.5 updates on Fedora.

Would you be able to provide a set of instructions on how to do all this?

To answer my own question (how to update to QT5.6) for fedora and similar.

I did not want to go to rawhide or a very early fc24.
For FC23 I did the following:
* download QT56
http://download.qt.io/snapshots/qt/5.6/5.6.0/360/

* Get the KDE building environment.
git clone git://anongit.kde.org/kdesrc-build.git ~/kdesrc
Update ~/.kdesrc-buildrc for plasma/kf5 (google)

* Build with
cd kdesrc; ./kdesrc-build
On first try, build will probably fail because you miss some devel packages.
Check the errors.
I needed: lmdb-devel , vlc-devel,sqlite-devel, dbus-glib-devel ,
NetworkManager-libnm-devel,systemd-devel nss-devel and some more

[cantor] [Bug 323261] Cantor with octave: plots in functions are not shown

2016-05-26 Thread Mark van Rossum via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323261

--- Comment #2 from Mark van Rossum ---
Hi
The bug is still there in its original form, and maybe even more so.

When you use the 'Integrate Plots in worksheet' option, (and restart after
setting that option), nothing shows.

Not so fast.
I still have these crashes on Fedora 24.
Did you re-install, or did you use your old filesystem?

If the former and the crashes are gone, that might point to a conflict with old
config files.

I wonder whether this is solved with Qt 5.6.0.
I use the updated fc23 packages such as qt5-qtbase-5.6.0-9.fc23.x86_64 but
I still experience many random crashes, in see e.g.

[kate] [Bug 362402] New: saves new files in wrong location when called from commandline.

2016-04-28 Thread Mark van Rossum via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362402

Bug ID: 362402
Summary: saves new files in wrong location when called from
commandline.
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mvanr...@inf.ed.ac.uk

Hi

I call kate from the command-line with a new file
~/c> kate ./a.c
(so a.c did not exist yet).
I then edit and save this new file.
Kate now saves it in my home directory rather that in . (~/c in this case).

I'm pretty sure this is a new bug.
