At some point, a selector was added to choose between Documents, Projects, or other plugins. That was fine. But with 22.08, it's become rather large (40x40?) icons instead, which don't indicate what they are (unless you open the tooltip) and waste a lot of screen space. [krdc] [Bug 442356] New: Restore ability to see both local+remote cursors
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442356 Bug ID: 442356 Summary: Restore ability to see both local+remote cursors Product: krdc Version: 20.12.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: VNC Assignee: uwol...@kde.org Reporter: luke-jr+kdeb...@utopios.org CC: aa...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Prior to v20.12.0, krdc (with Local Cursor enabled) showed a dot cursor locally, while leaving the remote VNC server to deal with the remote cursor. This worked nicely. Now, enabling local cursor extracts the remote cursor shape, and hides it in the remote view. This has numerous issues: 1) Can't see where the remote cursor is [with Local Cursor enabled] 2) Can't see where the real/local mouse cursor is [with it disabled] 3) Remote cursor shape is used in "View only" mode, even though it doesn't really make sense (in this case, I expect to see the default cursor locally, and the remote cursor wherever it remains remotely). 4) As documented, in some cases turning off "Local Cursor" forces a reconnect, though the server may not accept a new session (eg, x11vnc by default). Please restore the old behaviour. (Perhaps the new behaviour can remain as an option if people prefer it.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89299 Luke-Jr changed: What|Removed |Added CC||luke-jr+kdeb...@utopios.org --- Comment #63 from Luke-Jr --- I've noticed and found quite annoying the new bracketed paste feature. I'm not sure it's a proper fix either, since pasting malicious data into non-shells could still be a threat. Surely every single CLI application can't be expected to interpret bracketed paste control characters? Konversation has, for a long time, had a nice behaviour where it displays the clipboard in a separate dialog for review prior to actually pasting. It only does this for multi-line pastes, since it can guarantee single-line pastes will be harmless (it remains in Konversation's own line entry box). An ideal solution would probably involve untrusted sources marking the clipboard as such - but I'm not sure programs can reliably determine if they are trusted or not (it's entirely possible a README shown in Konsole might be considered untrusted, for example). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 457487] After fixing the shaded/shuttered window feature, restarting kwin_x11 --replace forgets the shaded window sizes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457487 --- Comment #4 from Luke-Jr --- (In reply to Hans-Peter Jansen from comment #3) > (In reply to Luke-Jr from comment #2) > > Is this going to get fixed? (Alternatively, is there a maintained fork of > > KWin somewhere out there we can switch to?) > > Be careful with such expressions: kwin is maintained! Not fixing a major regression like this after so long would lead one to think otherwise ;) > It's the X11 part, > that is problematic, and here, it's related to a feature, that doesn't even > exist under wayland, yet! If you want this feature for wayland, please show > your interest here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377162 My approach for now is to simply not use Wayland. It seems to introduce problems and regressions like this, for no benefit. > FTR: I tried different approaches already to backport to an earlier state of > the shaded window feature, aas well as backing out those changes, in order > to get back to the state of the good ol' times, but the kwin codebase was > shuffled around so heavily, that it would end up into something similar, > what Vlad did already. Duuh. This is what I'm successfully using as of 5.26.1: http://dpaste.com/EHULW6PHM The only thing that seems broken is if I maximise a shaded window, unshade it, then try to unmaximise. But I'm not sure if that ever worked. Shading and replacing kwin does seem to be fine, though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416720 --- Comment #4 from Luke-Jr --- Admittedly, it hasn't worked since systemd invaded, but it used to be possible to just run two Xorg servers, each controlling a monitor. [ktorrent] [Bug 449305] New: iblocklist (default) blocks KIO user agent
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449305 Bug ID: 449305 Summary: iblocklist (default) blocks KIO user agent Product: ktorrent Version: unspecified Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com Reporter: luke-jr+kdeb...@utopios.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY iBlockList apparently considers KIO's default user agent to be "impersonat[ing] browsers when accessing our service so [they] have put a stop to that." In practice, "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) KIO/5.88 ktorrent/20.12.3" is being sent, so I guess they consider "Mozilla" to imply a web browser. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable IP filter plugin 2. Attempt to update it from the default URI OBSERVED RESULT Error EXPECTED RESULT Successful IP list download ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I was able to downgrade KIO to 5.80 to get the Browser Identification module for System Settings, then used that to spoof a Wget user agent for list.iblocklist.com. After upgrading KIO back to 5.88, KTorrent now works again. It seems like perhaps the Browser Identification module should be restored, and KTorrent's default user agent adapted to not imply a browser (if iblocklist is stubborn and keeps the block as-is). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
