I think this was already in plasma 5.6 - maybe earlier but I cannot recall. The
video was also not recorded with the most recent plasma version. But the
problem is still the same.

I'll wait for 5.8 as suggested in comment #4.

[kactivitymanagerd] [Bug 368870] New: activity switcher shown twice in clone mode

2016-09-15 Thread Kai Krakow via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368870

Bug ID: 368870
Summary: activity switcher shown twice in clone mode
   Product: kactivitymanagerd
   Version: 5.7.5
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@kaishome.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

When using two screens in clone mode (either by unifying outputs or matching up
both viewports), the activity switcher shows twice when I'm using the switching
hotkeys (that one that works like Alt+Tab for windows). It does not happen if I
simply bring up the activity manager widget (that one with the single hotkey
where I can then click with the mouse).

This also leads to graphical glitches sometimes with the desktop freezing for a
short amount of time but I'm not sure if this is purely coincidental. Just
when I tried to reproduce it, my desktop crashed.

Here's a video showing the bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sge3tv4RmNs

There is no "graphical.target" in your systemd user instance - that's why.
Simply use "default.target" - that's what gets triggered during session start.

I already asked how one can depend user services on system services in the
mailing list but got no reply yet. I need some of my user session services
depend on mysqld being ready but couldn't work out how to do that. For now,
I've fallen back to depending the system service user@.service on mysqld. But
this is irrelevant for your case - for you its just default.target with the
downside you are getting errors when loading a non-X11 session (maybe through
ssh login).

[plasmashell] [Bug 357964] Plasma crashes during login

2016-01-14 Thread Kai Krakow via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357964

I nailed it down to an upgrade of the nvidia driver which I installed along
with plasma updates. I suspect it's due to changes NVIDIA did to the GL libs
(GLVND), thus I leave this open for a dev to decide:

[kwin] [Bug 362496] New: KWin crashed when unifying outputs

2016-04-30 Thread Kai Krakow via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362496

Bug ID: 362496
Summary: KWin crashed when unifying outputs
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.6.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org

Qt Version: 5.6.0
Frameworks Version: 5.21.0
Operating System: Linux 4.5.2-gentoo x86_64

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I've temporarily set my monitors (DVI monitor + HDMI TV) from clone to separate
outputs, that worked without problems. Tho, later, when I returned to unifying
both outputs (in German "Anzeigen vereinheitlichen"), KWin crashed and
respawned itself.

[plasmashell] [Bug 358964] New: Plasma crashed while opening application menu (fullscreen launcher)

2016-02-03 Thread Kai Krakow via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358964

Bug ID: 358964
Summary: Plasma crashed while opening application menu
(fullscreen launcher)
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.4
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: k...@kaishome.de

Application: plasmashell (5.5.4)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.4.1-gentoo x86_64
Distribution: "Gentoo Base System release 2.2"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Very rarely, when opening the application menu (fullscreen launcher), the
plasma shell crashes. I can see the application launcher flashing (background
will fade dark and blurs) but then the shell crashes and instantly reloads.

I'm using NVIDIA prop drivers with Gentoo provided packages (kde overlay).

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.
