As far as I'm concerned, the way it is IS > NOT ACCEPTABLE. Calm down, you just got an unexpected buggy behavior, there wasn't any major changes in the GUI design since KDE 3, just porting to KDE/Qt 4 (not altering very much the behavior of the KDE 3 program) and bug fixing.
