Hi, I gave a try on appImage one. Never tried before and found it quite clever way to deliver applications. Unfortunately it doesn't work as well. At this time it gets stalled at 4% of files parsed. I tried to disable as much as possible the plugins, keep the minimal (cpp, makefile and git), but got the same result. They do work on Xrender, but it ends effects like the cube transition between different virtual desktops. So applications like yakuake (dropdown shell) don't work. It could be something I just did wrong in my system. I run with my own compiled kernel, Ubuntu 16.04, Xorg-edgers ppa and Kubuntu ppa also.
