[dolphin] [Bug 466959] New: multiple renaming

2023-03-06 Thread Dav84
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466959

Bug ID: 466959
   Summary: multiple renaming
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 22.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

Dolphin-Rename

When renaming multiple files, it is not allowing me to enter digits of more
than 2 figures manually and if I use the up and down arrows it allows me to go
up to 99 and (this did not happen before) I have been using KDE neon for 2
years, for example I have a folder with 1000 photos and I'm going to add 100,
so personally I start with the logical and consecutive numbering at 1001... but
it won't let me put more than two numbers and I repeat it (this didn't happen
before) in renaming with higher numbers to 2000 and consecutive, I don't know
if they changed something, which would seem like a throwback to a very simple
action and one of the ones that I personally like about Dolphin to rename
batches of files very easily and the strange thing is that if I put pure 0
(zeros) if it lets me put more than 2 (zeros)

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 466636] Unable to set the value of # higher than 99 when bulk renaming files using Rename Tool provided by Dolphin

2023-03-30 Thread Dav84

They still haven't fixed the reported problem, I'm not a developer and I don't
know how difficult it is to solve something that didn't happen before in the
system or is it that now we can only rename no more than 99 files?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
After an update today, by chance, I shook the mouse strongly towards the sides
of my PC screen and the result was that the cursor enlarged until it looked
pixelated, unless it was a new function that I found to be of little use in the
OS, I have not configured anything different, so I can assume that it is a
small bug, nothing serious or to make drama but well, I discovered it by chance
and it had never happened to me before, I will add a small video where you can
see the cursor bug, thank you .

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is not a serious bug...but it did not happen before, since the update to
Plasma 6 the taskbar takes a long time to appear when the desktop is turned
on/loaded, in fact it completely blocks its usability, right clicking or
dragging does not work until the taskbar appears, I don't know if it only
happens to me or no one has reported that detail and in Plasma 5... it never
happened to me so I rule out that it is my PC and the other suggestion would be
if there is the possibility of returning to use a single click to open folders,
files, etc. I don't understand why now you only open files with a double click.
Personally, I got used to just one click and I bet that many users also need
that option.

In my case I rule out Bluetooth since my PC does not have it integrated, I use
it via USB, it is not a laptop, it is a desktop PC... and I also rule out the
welcome screen since it is the first thing I have disabled the welcome screen
and as I say in plasma 5... it never happens to me, the taskbar was ready when
the desktop loaded now there is a quite obnoxious or annoying delay and until
it loads I can't use anything...

> Eso s铆, en realidad es la ausencia de bluetooth lo que causa problemas.

I don't think so, this computer is new, it has been used for 3 months before
upgrading to Plasma 6, it was with Plasma 5 and zero problems, in fact, the
Bluetooth was never connected all the time since it is via non-integrated USB
and I only connect it when I need it and Most of the time I use KDE connect to
transfer files between my devices and it never gave me problems with Plasma 5
and it seems illogical to me that Bluetooth interferes with something as basic
in the interface as the taskbar.

So explain to me to understand why in Plasma 5 I did not have Bluetooth
connected to any USB all the time and both KDE connect and the taskbar worked
without problems, now you tell me that the solution in Plasma 6 is to have the
Bluetooth device connected all the time. How long does it take for the bar to
appear and not take 49 seconds in my case to appear and be able to use the PC?

You are right, I just did the test and if the bar enters as before, now this
cannot be modified so that it does not depend on one of the other and the other
query is how I activate again a single click to open files or folders I look
for it in settings from Dolphin and the option does not appear, a user told me
that there is an option at least because he is wrong or still using Plasma 5 or
that I cannot find it.

More or less 4 days ago it started sending a message disconnecting the cable or
Ethernet network for no reason that I can understand and it tells me that the
connection is limited and puts the yellow triangle on the network icon on the
taskbar what I do is simply turn off the connection and then reconnect and the
triangle is eliminated and it does not seem constant. It can happen to me once
or twice a day and it seems that the connection speed is not affected but if I
am in Spotify, for example, obviously cuts off my playback, it doesn't seem
like a local network problem or a problem with the PC's network card, that's
thanks.

To the above I add that it is difficult to recognize a Wi-Fi network and when I

disconnecting from the Wi-Fi and I highlight that in my case in Wi-Fi I use it

Yes, they always say that it is a driver and it may be that it is, but the
problem is that the wired connection is affecting me. Honestly, the Wi-Fi works
for me since it is a desktop PC, but since it is disconnecting from the wired
network, it bothers me. Now I have been using KDE for more than three years and
a few months since this latest version and I had never had network connection
problems either on my old laptop or on this new PC and these started almost a
week ago with some update something was loaded and now this happens, I don't

I still have network disconnection problems and you are giving the problem to
someone with the same story, which is the wifi or network driver. It's been
almost 15 days with this problem. Before these 15 days, I never had network
problems in KDE neon. Even when I restart the PC when loading it disconnects
itself from the network, it is a new PC with modern components, I know that it
is not the strong point of Linux to work well on new computers which seems very
bad to me and that is why it cannot take off in Mass so many failures on new
PCs is not good for the aspirations of the Linux desktop, it is unfortunate but
I will have to change to Linux Mint because I do not see a solution and as an
end user there is no reason to rack my brain looking for or compiling drivers
and even more so when You are not that expert in Linux.

Yesterday I updated to version 6 of Plasma and after the system restart the
restart and shutdown buttons from the applications menu simply do not work,
they are dead... I have to turn off via terminal,2-the taskbar takes forever..
to appear when you turn on the PC, something that didn't happen
before...3-something that is not a bug but seems like a setback to me is
opening folders with a double click? I don't understand how one less click to
open files or folders affects the system. At least they should provide the
option for the user to choose from one click or double click, as it was before,
that small detail seems like a step backwards to me.

I just detected a small bug, nothing out of this world, but it seems to me that
it is not normal and should not happen, in short, I accidentally dragged an

detail is that the The specific area where dolphin closes is if I position
myself on the path of the folder where the saved image is located. In the rest
of the bar, it does not happen, for example, home > user > downloads > walking

takes time to generate it,I leave some screenshots so that it can be better

personally understand that transparent does not exist. nothing behind the bar
icons but the bar is still seen in a dark tone since I use the Dark Breeze

I just updated to version 6.2.0 of Plasma and I still can't make the taskbar
transparent, it's really so difficult to use a simple customization function
that is integrated into KDE neon and can't be used, I'm in Wayland by default
and they told me that in version 6.2 it was supposed to be solved, I have tried
other Linux distributions that have a transparent taskbar by default, but the
point is that the one I like is KDE neon, not Xubuntu or Lubuntu.

[plasmashell] [Bug 494317] 'Translucent/Adaptive' Opacity in Panel Settings does not apply transparency in 6.1.90

2024-10-10 Thread Dav84
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494317

I don't know what they mean by 6.1.90,but the system is updated to the latest
version KDE Plasma 6.2.0,KDE Frameworks 6.6.0,Qt version 6.7.2,kernel 6.8.0-45
and Wayland as default graphic manager,in the edit mode of the taskbar there
are 3 very clear customization options,ADAPTABLE,OPAQUE AND "TRANSPARENT" or I
don't know what you mean by the concept of transparency, but well if the panel
can not be given transparency being in the options then they should remove the
option and leave only Adaptable and Opaque which are the only ones that do work
apparently.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:

Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.2.3
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't know if you should call it a bug, you know more when I rename a folder
in Dolphin and leave a small space at the end and then try to open a file in
that folder in this case an image does not open Gwenview keeps loading but is
never displayed I have to force close the photo viewer and I tried with a
folder with text files and it does not open them either Kate leaving a small
space a click or an enter with the space key is enough so that the files in
that folder cannot be opened or displayed, nothing out of the ordinary but I
think it should not happen, NOTE if the file is outside a folder and that space
is left at the end of for example a PHOTO.jpg... the file does open the problem
seems to be if they are inside a folder.

Correct, it was giving me an error from Flatpak, but now it's giving me an
error with practically every update, it's strange, I update and restart as
usual, but when I start the system again the same packages appear again as if
they had not been updated or installed and every time I start the system now it
notifies me with this error and I hit repair and it gives me an error and says
that the system could not be repaired.

Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.1.5
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A process called baloo_file gave me an error out of nowhere and for the first
time in years that I have been using KDE, nothing happened, I just got the
error report window and another query that I wanted to ask for a few days,
there is a small hum in the font fan and I notice sudden changes in speed in
the fan and it is more noticeable in the use of browsers that in my case on a
daily basis I use Vivaldi and Firefox, it should be noted that the font is new,
it is not even 6 months it is an MSI, what I would like to know is if there is
something in the system that is generating that low-level hum, it is very
slight, it is not an annoying noise, but if I can catch it and the curious
thing is where it is most noticeable is with the browsers I don't know if there
is some process that is increasing CPU usage and therefore increasing the speed
of the source fan, I don't know if it is something in the browsers or in KDE as
such.

In fact when I try to download the debug symbols it gives me an error and does
not let me do the download so I saved the kcrash file and the truth is that I
am not very expert on this subject and that's why I like KDE is very stable but
that error appeared overnight and I know it does not seriously affect the
system but I have read several users with the same problem with that file
baloo_file and is not a constant error personally usually happens to me being
in dolphin but I do not know if dolphin is the cause or is something else ...

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I want to report more than a bug, something aesthetic now when I start the
system or after an update the KDE logo appears in a huge horrible way looks
like a pc of the 80's to turn on and then loads normally in size but is placed
to one side of the screen and then placed in the center normally and the boot
menu after updating the grub also looks horribly huge as the 70's and I have
noticed with the last two updates that this a little slow since I turn on until
you load the login screen,Maybe it seems silly in the eyes of many but KDE is
very nice aesthetically and those details personally kill me a little, anyway
thanks.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The truth is I didn't know where to put this bug... if I can call it that, the
thing is that a few days ago when I click on the volume icon on the taskbar the
audio cuts out for a few seconds and the funny thing is that if I click on
other icons on the bar such as network or the date there is no audio cut, and
where this audio cut also usually occurs is for example when I start scrolling
on a web page or clicking on a publication while in the browser I get this
small audio cut.
