[kate] [Bug 407288] New: Kate doesn't bring existing session into foreground
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407288 Bug ID: 407288 Summary: Kate doesn't bring existing session into foreground Product: kate Version: 18.12.3 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: cristian.a...@gmx.net Target Milestone: --- I have installed kate-18.12.3-443-windows-msvc2017_64-cl.exe on Windows 10. I configured Kate to be the editor application in Total Commander (similar application to Krusader :) When I press F4 to edit a file, Kate springs into action. If there is no session open, it opens the application and brings into foreground. If an existing session exists, then it just highlights in in the taskbar without bringing it to foreground. I have to then press Alt-Tab to reach Kate, which is not what I expect as an user. Until this bug exists in Kate I'm forced to use Notepad++, which works as expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

By that I mean when I send emails from KMail I would like for my colleagues using Outlook for Windows or Outlook Mac to be able to have a nice viewing experience. I have installed on my KDE Neon distribution the font package "fonts-crosextra-carlito". Carlito is a font familiy with the same metrics as the Windows's Calibri font familiy. I would like to be able to specify Calibri as a font for the composer. $ fc-match Calibri Carlito-Regular.ttf: "Carlito" "Regular" But it seems KDE's font management is not displaying Calibri in the list. On the other hand there is a similar case for "Sans Serif". $ fc-match "Sans Serif" LiberationSans-Regular.ttf: "Liberation Sans" "Regular" KDE's Font Manager does enumerate "Sans Serif" in the list of fonts. This action results in a drag & drop operation of the current (or the previous) application's desktop file to the switched to application. I could see how this could work if I drag an application to the desktop and have a link to it. But normally I don't want to open a desktop file with Kate, KMail, or to download it with Chromium. In the attached screen cast I switch fast between applications in order to reproduce this issue. In normal usage this happens a few times in a working day. Very annoying.
