Use inlined frames in Massif XTree output

DHAT can show inlined frames, but Massif currently can't. The attached patch
fixes this. I have tested that it works on the Rust compiler, which was my
motivating example: see
https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/52028#issuecomment-402409368,
especially the part "Massif doesn't get great stack traces due to inlining, but
DHAT does a better job by using debuginfo."

I can confirm this, on Arch, Discover 5.13.5.

The notification in the tray displays 5 updates, only two show up in discover
(I will attach a screenshot).

I don't think that runtimes always appear in Discover. The output of flatpak
list displays 5 packages, so all presumably need to be updated:
RefOptions
com.valvesoftware.Steam/x86_64/stable system,current
org.freedesktop.Platform.Compat.i386/x86_64/18.08 system,runtime
org.freedesktop.Platform.VAAPI.Intel/x86_64/18.08 system,runtime
org.freedesktop.Platform.html5-codecs/x86_64/18.08 system,runtime
org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/18.08 system,runtime

It could be related to Bug 395923 where runtimes are handled differently as
well.

I was about to write that no update at all was displayed, but they just took a
long time (maybe 5 minutes) to be displayed. It could be the same with people
reporting that no update is shown. Adding a progress indicator, or an
indication that updates are being checked for could be of some help here.

After installing updates trough Discover, no updates are shown int the main
windows, though one remains, and is displayed in the tray. Discover complained
about org.freedesktop.Platform.Compat.i386 not being in the flathub remote,
although it works with `flatapak update`. After updating this way, the tray
icon disappears.

If that helps for reproducing, here is the output of
$ flatpak list --ostree-verbose -v -d
F: No installations directory in /etc/flatpak/installations.d. Skipping

this bug, but I hope it helps.

[kwin] [Bug 399302] New: Random OpenGL freeze causes KWin to disable compositing

2018-10-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399302

Bug ID: 399302
Summary: Random OpenGL freeze causes KWin to disable
compositing
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.13.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: davide.nicol...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 115362
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=115362&action=edit
"journalctl -p 2 -b" output

SUMMARY
Sometimes at boot kwin_x11 throws "Freeze in OpenGL initialization detected"
and disables compositing (with OpenGL x.y compositing enabled in
systemsettings). This happens apparently in a random fashion. I am using the
default user configuration files in /home. I put the journalctl log in the
attachment. This error never happened to me before, but I can't recall which
change triggered the error. I recently updated Plasma, though. Clicking
"Re-enable OpenGL compositing" in systemsettings and relaunching kwin
effectively re-enables compositing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable OpenGL (whatever version) compositing under System Settings >
Composer
2. Restart
3. Launch a Plasma X11 session in sddm

OBSERVED RESULT
No compositing, sometimes kwin_x11 doesn't even start.

EXPECTED RESULT
Compositing working

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.50.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am using up-to-date Arch Linux, kernel version 4.18.10-arch1-1-ARCH, 64 bit,
xorg intel drivers version 2.99.917 and mesa 18.2.1-1

[khotkeys] [Bug 399304] New: Draw mouse gestures on screen via colored lines

2018-10-02 Thread Murz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399304

Bug ID: 399304
Summary: Draw mouse gestures on screen via colored lines
   Product: khotkeys
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@michael-jansen.biz
  Reporter: mur...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

At now KDE have good build-in support for mouse gestures - they works well:
https://userbase.kde.org/System_Settings/Shortcuts_and_Gestures#Mouse_Gestures
but they works too invisible to user, so users very often draw bad gestures.

Many other mouse gestures apps (EasyStroke, Gesturefy and Foxy Gestures Firefox
plugins) draw helper lines on screen when user hold gesture button on mouse and
start drawing - those lines shows to user that he start drawing gesture, and
display which gesture it drawing now.

Please add same mode (as option) in KDE Plasma 5 too, for draw mouse trail
lines on screen when mouse key is pressed and system ready to recognize
gesture.

Good example of implementation mouse gesture trails you can see in so useful,
but discontinued EasyStroke application.

I've been getting this at login after boot-up since I upgraded from Kubuntu

To me it looks like this:
- physical access beats any software = allow power off, suspend / hibernate
- remote session = require password for power off, suspend / hibernate

First of all, the bug was reported months back. If the first response I get is
after 3 months of reporting, I am not sure if it is fair that you set a
deadline for me. Perhaps, allowing a few months for my response would be fine.

Secondly, I have already provided the process that was the culprit and I would
like to understand why that process was interfering.

I will try to check with lsof which file is being accessed next time I hit
this.

[digikam] [Bug 399305] New: When browsing images in preview mode, videos are often not shown (black preview area), only sound is heard

2018-10-02 Thread Jens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399305

Bug ID: 399305
Summary: When browsing images in preview mode, videos are often
not shown (black preview area), only sound is heard
   Product: digikam
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Preview-Video
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jens-bugs.kde@spamfreemail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
see $SUBJECT

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Digikam with album where there are multiple (mp4) video files
2. Enter preview mode with the thumbnail dock at the top
3. browse through images and videos

OBSERVED RESULT
When a video file is reached, it should play back (or at least optionally play
back.)

EXPECTED RESULT
Sometimes, videos are played, but no video is shown.
If I then go to the next image, view a few images, and then go back, the video
plays normally.
Maybe there is a race condition with multiple consecutive video files?

This happened with Digikam 4.x, 5.x and 6.0-beta, under Ubuntu 14.04 (Unity),
16.04 (Unity) and 18.04 (KDE), on an Intel Haswell i915 graphics system. Maybe
it also depends on the hardware (driver).

Currently, using Kubuntu 18.04 with KDE 5.12 and Digikam 6.0-beta 20180926.

[kontact] [Bug 399196] Kontact crash when trying to import calendar (search)

2018-10-02 Thread Marco Richetta
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399196

Hi!

After posting the bug I changed to the language of Kontact from Spanish to
English to make sure I correctly explained the steps.
After that change I can't open Kontact anymore because it crashes everytime.

Anyway, I tried to generate the backtrace or at least provide some useful
debugging info.

GDB

> gdb kontact
> gdb run

[Depuración de hilo usando libthread_db enabled]

51 ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/raise.c: No such file or directory.

KONTACT
===

Trying to open kontact normally pops up a notification of the crash.
On the crash handler, I go to Developer Information and generate the backtrace.
It has some records like this
#1 0x7f585b966747 in ?? () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libxcb.so.1

It provides me a list of packages that can help on provide better information
but I don't understand what I have to install. This is the list:

/usr/bin/kontact
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libKF5KontactInterface.so.5
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkontactprivate.so.5

I installed kdelibs5-dbg like it says on the Guideline, then searched for dbg
packages for kontact or Qt5 but I'm not sure what to install.

I hope this may be helpful.

I expect this is either already fixed or a problem of KChart. I am using
libKChart2-2.6.0-1.1.x86_64 on my openSUSE 42.3 with current KMyMoney 5.0 HEAD
and am unable to duplicate the problem. Which version of KChart is used on your
system?

Now that we have an awesome new drive-harddisk icon, we need a variant of it
that indicates "I'm the disk for the operating system/the root partition". Some
kind of symbol in the center on that big blank area could work. Perhaps the
Plasma or K-with-a-gear logo? A computer? A slash? Something else?

Current master does not work under gentoo.

It gives

kdevplatform.shell: Could not load plugin "kdevclangsupport" , it reported the
error: "The clang builtin include path
\"/usr/lib64/llvm/7/lib64/clang/7.0.0/include\" is invalid (missing cpuid.h
header).\nTry setting the KDEV_CLANG_BUILTIN_DIR environment variable manually
to fix this.\nSee also: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393779"; Disabling
the plugin now.

which is not existing directory.

Manually setting
CLEAR_DUCHAIN_DIR=1 KDEV_CLANG_BUILTIN_DIR=/usr/lib64/clang/7.0.0/include/
kdevelop

works fine.

I think the solution is to use

#define KDEV_CLANG_BUILTIN_DIR "@CLANG_INCLUDE_DIRS@"

in the libclang_include_path.h instead of building the include dir manually.
I will post a patch soon. :)

I just re-checked this as I did do a git pull to get the latest version, and it
is actually 3.0.0. I mistakenly reported the kde version.
During the run of the loop guide, I find this in the proc/fd:
$ ls /proc/3549/fd
0 100 103 106 109 12 15 18 20 23 26 29 31 34 37 4 42 45 48
50 53 6 64 67 7 72 75 78 80 83 86 89 91 94 97
1 101 104 107 11 13 16 19 21 24 27 3 32 35 38 40 43 46 49
51 54 61 65 68 70 73 76 79 81 84 87 9 92 95 98
10 102 105 108 110 14 17 2 22 25 28 30 33 36 39 41 44 47 5
52 55 62 66 69 71 74 77 8 82 85 88 90 93 96 99

Most of them are:
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:24 90 -> 'socket:[59370]'
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:24 91 -> 'socket:[66537]'
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:24 92 -> 'socket:[66538]'
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:24 93 -> 'socket:[78162]'
up to
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:39 717 -> 'socket:[101062]'
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:39 718 -> 'socket:[101063]'
lrwx--. 1 ... 64 Oct  2 23:39 719 -> 'socket:[99119]'

It seems to increase at the frame rate of the guider loop.

As I can replicate this on-demand, is there something I can do to provide more
info?

I've done some observation and it looks like the bug isn't related to Neon.
I've tried to open a different djvu document and it works fine. Must be
something with the file. I've tried to open it with several djvu readers

The Active Window Control widget has been working very well. But it has had

So I hope you will add the ability to display the Close/Min/Max buttons and App

balance chart with no future

SUMMARY
when selecting a bank account, I was used to see 3 months forecast in the
future in the "show balance chart" (until v4.8.2), but now the latest day is
today's date (see screenshot). I tried on Windows with v4.8.2 and it appears
ok. It seems it comes from v5.0. I upgraded through apt to 5.0.1 but the
problem is still there and strangely, by opening KMymoney, it states v5.0.0
instead of 5.0.1. I tried with different configuration options but no way!
Thanks for your help, Olivier

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select a bank account with a balance and scheduled transactions in the
future
2. click on "show balance chart"
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
the latest day is today's date

EXPECTED RESULT
should show 90 days forecast

1) Not only the Text Tool, but other vector tools (Calligraphy and Edit Shapes
Tool) are not selectable. You not only cannot edit text, but also create a
calligraphy path or edit shapes. Only the arrow tool (select shapes) works. On
a normal, working vector layer, every one of those three tools can be selected
and used.

2) Enter and clicking on the text a few times will unblock Text Tool, doesn't
unblock others (see 1.), so the bug is still there, but text tool is possible
to be reached

3) The most essential part is to move a layer (visible) to the hidden group and
then un-hide group and checking the things mentioned.

Hi there, I'm unable to reproduce this on the latest Krita (git master).

I've tested this on MS Windows with dual-monitors, with Krita fullscreen on
either window (left or right), and it does not occur for me.

Could you test with the latest version and report back if it works correctly?

I also vote for this.

I think that the full scope of AWC features is required for well-working global
menu setup.
AWC developer seems to be dormant lately. He also never updated AWC versions in
other places outside Github (opendesk/kde store, system repositories), which
causes issues for many users, because the only Github version is working fully.

Porting AWC features to Plasma's global menu widget would ensure proper
functionality and availability needed features. Global menu alone is just not
functional. This is a sin of most DEs (only Unity did it right) and in Plasma
AWC fixes that lacks which gives use second best global menu implementation in
Linux. However, with the lack of activity from AWC developer, we are worried
this project is endangered.

Here is how AWC works with latte:

Hi, I tested this with the latest git master version. The pivot point behaves
properly.

If you move the pivot point manually inside the selected object to a random
location, you can see the behavior better. Scaling from any direction adheres
to the pivot point, and pressing Alt while scaling overrides it. The only
reason you are seeing this behavior is because the pivot point is on top of
outer boundary you are trying to drag. Krita handles this like a normal scale
then, as there is no more space to reduce between the pivot point and the outer
boundary of the object.

[krita] [Bug 398339] Gamut mask does not update

2018-10-02 Thread Anna Medonosova
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398339

The good news is that the simple way to rotate masks should be in the next
nightly build (look for the 'Rotation' slider on top of the color selector).

Unfortunately, the transformations done through the transform tool cannot be
saved in a gamut mask. The only way to rotate the shapes is to drag them by the
bent arrow icon
(https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/layers_and_masks/vector_layers.html?highlight=rotate#rotate).

I think you do not need to attach the mask as I was able to reproduce the
issue. But for completeness: the gamut mask can be exported to a bundle in the
resource manager
(https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/resource_management.html?highlight=create%20bundle#creating-your-own-bundle).

[kwin] [Bug 350819] kwin crashes when pressing - to change the window

2018-10-02 Thread Carsten Jacobi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350819

Sorry and you're right, I haven't delivered any input in the meantime (wow, 3
years now).
The original problem was recreated on an Apple-G5 with ATI graphics-adapter and
the Radeon-driver for X11. There was a problem with the MESA libraries so that
GL was not supported on Big-Endian machines (the details can be found here ->
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-commit/2015-July/057473.html). In
the meantime, that has been fixed and now I am able to run GL also on the
Apple-G5 with ATI Radeon adapter ... but I currently don't use that G5 but
another one with NVIDIA-Nouveau driver.
At a first try kwin starts and doesn't crash on my current G5 with NVIDIA, but
now I see that I reported we'll only have the problem if pressing Alt-Tab.

You know, Fedora Core 25 is the current and recommended version for Apple-G5
systems (not Fedora Core 22). What about if you just close this ticket and I
open another one in case I still see the problem on a newer version?

Resolved by myself, it was a question of setup
I give exact dialogues names in french, do not know witch are the exact
formulation in english ...
"Espace de travail" > "Niveau de prevention de vol du focus"
Whwn setup to "haut" (high) or more, plasmoid's toolbars are impossible to
setup. Lower, it's ok.

I did not exatly understand what means this setup of focus. Is there
documentation for this pupose, and would it be a bit more available ?

And I let someone else decide if my difficulty may be considered as a bug or
not.

Hope my explanations will be usefull ...

Using the command "increase indent" from the menu bar intentionally creates a
bullet list. The name is misleading. It should be something like
"Increase/decrease nested list level". See this bug #215663.

Nonetheless, I support this feature request. Real indention is actually a
missing feature. For example, I often discuss 3rd party literature via mail and
having a feature like this would help to distinguish between my own text and
citations.

However, I would not use the HTML tag but prefer something like

I am in support of this feature.

If this feature is implemented, I would prefer to have not only
for replying or relaying other mails but also to be able to insert custom
 with the tool bar.

I often discuss 3rd party literature via mail and having a feature like this
would help to distinguish between my own text and the citation.

There is a loosely related feature request that asks for real left indention of
paragraphs without unintentionally creating a bullet list. See bug #341961.
