May the problem be in the connection to kde-frameworks-5 ? I had to install
snap version of it, so it probably does not use system-installed version (I use
NEON so I presume I have it installed).

I can provide info and cooperation if u want it.

Dear Valgrind team,

Here at KAIST, Korea, we are doing a research project on testing
the correctness of binary lifters. The system is named MeanDiff,
which systematically finds semantic bugs by differential testing
the lifted output of thousands generated x86 and x86-64
instructions. We will be presenting a paper on our system
called "Testing Intermediate Representations for Binary Analysis"
at ASE 2017.

Valgrind's VEX lifter was included in our experiments and in result we have
some
bugs we would like to report. In our attempt of making the bug
reports as concise as possible, we have made issues on your
behalf on our Github page below:
https://github.com/SoftSec-KAIST/MeanDiff/issues

Here the different binary lifters, including yours, are labeled
by name. In summary we found 4 unique bugs in VEX lifter.

If you have any questions feel free to write us or comment on the
Github issues.

Best regards,
Soomin Kim & Markus Faerevaag & Sang Kil Cha

This actually still appears to be happening in Kate 17.08.1

Is regex searching within a range disabled for some reason?

Test procedure:
a) Open html file - with lots of tags .
b) Open Find bar - switch to power-search/replace
c) Set Mode to "Regular expression"
d) Enter '[ \t]{0,}()' in Find box
e) Select a range of the html file - lines X to X+y
( ensuring multiple tags are in the selected range)
f) Ensure - "search in selection only" is on;
g) Press enter to find first occurrence - of the tag (should succeed)
h) Press enter again - should advance to next tag ( Does not succeed)

Removing the "search in selection only" - and the "find next" "find previous"
work well.
With the "search in selection only" - it finds the first occurrence then no
more.

Problem may be in KateSearchBar::find() - and it's checks on regex mode and
selection with multi-line matching

2017-09-19 Thread Dmitry Sankov

Bug ID: 384843
Summary: Brush freezes after lifting stylus pen away from
tablet while cursor is on canvas
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.2.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: tablet support
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: d.san...@gmail.com
CC: dimul...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm experiencing exactly the same bug as [333843], but on Windows 8.1 with
Wacom Cintiq tablet. So, I just copied the description from [333843]:

If I lift the pen away from the screen (beyond hovering range) while the cursor
is on the canvas, when I put it back down on the canvas, the brush stays frozen
where it is and does not move until I move the pen over another part of the
screen (other than the canvas).
If I lift the pen away while the cursor is anywhere other than the canvas, it
works normally when I put it back down.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Hover pen over tablet so that cursor is anywhere on the canvas.
2.Lift pen away completely.
3.Put pen down straight back onto canvas and try to paint. The brush stays
where it was.
Actual Results:
The brush stays where it was when the pen was lifted away and will not move.

Expected Results:
It should jump to wherever the pen comes back down and keep following it.

Tablet: Wacom Cintiq 13HD touch (last driver version: 6.3.24-5)

Confirm this issue is present in 5.10.95 in the Arch kde-unstable repo.

Although the settings have reverted to some default in the Gnome Application
Style (GTK) window, the correct settings are still present in the local files
$[HOME}/.GTKRC-2.0 and $[HOME}/.GTKRC-2.0-kde4 and reflected in the GTK apps.

However, if a change is made to any setting in that window, all the other
settings will revert to default in the local files. The workaround for this is
to change all the settings required in the window each time and apply the
changes. You will then have the correct settings in the local files.

Bug happening live

First of all, sorry for the very inspecific title.

I very frequently run into the issue that after a certain command the keyboard
behaves as follows:

- Standard keys produce no output
- pressing enter (without having typed anything before) enters no newline, but
adds the command prompt on the same line again
- Ctrl-C correctly inserts a newline
- typing a command (+ enter) executes the command. The command itself is not
visible, (say ls), but the output of it is.

I'm attaching a screenshot to show the behavior.
Now, I know this is not enough for anyone to reproduce this. If I find a
pattern that reproduces this, I'll post it. In the mean time, is there anything
I can do that would give some hints of what is going wrong? I can reproduce
rather frequently

This isn't about advertising: I know for sure that GitHub is very practical,
makes the contribution easy and doesn't waste anyone's time.

In comparison, I started to try phabricator with Enlightenment but it wasn't
promising. I also wanted to try it with KDE months ago; it was an *obstacle*.
Add to this the limited free time each of us may have.

KDE devs should have their reasons for not using github for active development,
while many devs have their reasons to prefer it. These are facts without
judgment. I don't participate in lengthy discussions about reasons.

Visual animated description of the problem

Hello,

the gif in the attachement says it all. When I have a multiline comment in a
PHP code, kdevelop formats it correctly when typing - that is write "/*" on the
first line, hit enter and the next line is automaticaly indented bellow the
"*".

But when I select multiple lines with such comment blocks on them and hit tab
to indent (or shift+tab to deindent), the comment formatting gets messed up,
putting all the asterisks bellow the "/" in the first line. This is still valid
code but a nightmare for version control.

I use kdevelop from archlinux packages, latest version, with the C style
indenter.

[digikam] [Bug 384846] New: Sync Albumcollection on Nextcloud

2017-09-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384846

Bug ID: 384846
   Summary: Sync Albumcollection on Nextcloud
   Product: digikam
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-Engine
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: arn...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi Digikam Team,
the since a few years I'm using digikam to manage my photos and it works great.
But the last year my private IT has changed and the photo collection gained
size. So I'm working now a small laptop (befor desktop pc which allot of space)
with a ssd which can't store my full photo collection. The Photo collection is
on my private Server.

Now I just sync the albums I'm currently working with, or I wan't to show
someone on my Laptop. This works, but has some not nice side effects.

Every time I sync a Album to my laptop it is imported into Digikam and when i
remove it, the photos are removed from digikam.

To view all pictures in digikam I have setup a remote collection, but this is
slow.

So I had the Idea to make a new collection, between local and network
Collection. So a local Collection, where the elements and thumbnails are not
removed if the hole folder is missing. This would allow to select in the
nextcloud client the folders which should be offline or local available. Maby
someone has an good Idea how to enable to only sync jpg to the local machine
while keeping the raw file on the server.

This would be a small start of a cloud sync feature. Think further there are a
lot nice thinks which could be done. For example integrating the sharing, like
it is integrated in dolphin. Or even further give a option to do task which
need's a lot of computational time on the server. Like face recognition or
preview generation.

thanks for the great product your are already serving
with best regrets
Arne

[kwin] [Bug 384805] cursor jumps upon edge activation

2017-09-19 Thread Michael Zanetti
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384805

Hey, so, I've edited screenedge.cpp and commented out the pushback of the
cursor, and indeed the issue is gone (obviously at the cost that the one pixel
pushback doesn't work any more either).

I also tried to add debug prints for the cursor position when it hits the edge
and those seem to be correct. Which leads me to believe that the issue must be
somewhere on the path of of Cursor::setPos(). Not saying it's necessarily in
kwin itself, but at least it seems to happen when writing the position, and not
when reading it.

I tried to follow the path but I got lost. All the connections to
Cursor::posChanged don't seem to actually set the cursor (except in the
software cursor case which doesn't seem to be case here, at least I couldn't
see the m_softwareCursor path in platform.cpp being triggered) and the
drm/x11standalone backends don't actually seem to trigger any cursor position
updates, but rather only use that information for the edge glow and such.

Hope this helps, not sure where to go from here atm.
Br,
Michael

Huh, there's something really wrong with your Wacom configuration. Krita isn't
getting any tablet events other than TabletEnterProximity and
TabletLeaveProximity, which means you are not even getting any pressure
sensitivity.

Try resetting your Wacom driver config, uninstall the driver fully, and
reinstall the driver after that.

[digikam] [Bug 384849] New: Database dropped when network collection not mounted

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Incidentally it happens that I start digiKam while the network device
containing my major collection is not mounted. Digikam removes whatever is not
mounted from the list. Not from Settings | Condfigure Digikam | Collections.
After mount, digiKam detects the collection is there, and starts a complete
scan as if it is rebuilding the database. In my case over tens of thousands of
images. Which takes at least an hour. This should not be necessary imho. I
think it did not do so in version 4.x.

The option is there and works, but it is not easy to find. Left-click on the
system tray icon to open the volume control. Click the "Mixer" (bottom left)
button to show the full mixer. From the "Settings" menu select "Configure
KMix" and then the "General" page.

Or a shorter way: left-click the system tray icon, then click the "Configure
view" (bottom right) button to show the config dialogue, then the "General"
page.

It would be useful, and would follow the standard convention, to have the
configure dialogue accessible from the system tray right-click menu.

Sorry, but I disagree. For me it looks like a Krita issue, because other 3

[krita] [Bug 384850] New: Series of transform mask bugs with large images

2017-09-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384850

Bug ID: 384850
Summary: Series of transform mask bugs with large images
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.0 pre-alpha
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: transform
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: reptilli...@live.com
  Target Milestone: ---

OS being used - Windows 10 x64
Graphic card - NVIDIA Quaddro K4200
RAM Count - 32 RAM

Right now, I would like to have time to backtrace these issues or video record
the issues to make the issue clear, but now I have time only to give brief
details on the issues with transform masks. Please do respond, so that I can be
reminded to address these with greater details.

1) When it comes to large images and the transform mask, if you're applying the
transform mask to a image that's 5K, and the target image you're putting it on
is a image of less than 512x512, it's entirely possible for Krita to completely
fail to render the object. I plan to test this on ANGLE build to see if it'll
solve issues, but I find it buggy.

2)As with the above issue, sometimes it'll work with 1 transform mask, but if
you apply several transform mask, it'll never render. Especially if you're
using a image with large amount of data.

The issue is likely within NVIDIA card and Krita, and like with both, I'll have
to test ANGLE build.

[krita] [Bug 384843] Brush freezes after lifting stylus pen away from tablet while cursor is on canvas

2017-09-19 Thread Alvin Wong
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384843

I'm sorry, are you using a Wacom Cintiq 13HD touch? Do you have external
monitors? Because from the tablet log, both the WinTab driver and Qt reported a
screen resolution of 5760x2160, but the resolution of a Cintiq 13HD should be
only 1920x1080. So this points to a Wacom driver config issue.

This issue looks to be similar to bug 384504, and that was a Wacom driver
config issue. I'm not sure how the reporter solved it, but it likely involves
resetting the Wacom driver settings with the driver utility and messing with
the calibration.

> > Huh, there's something really wrong with your Wacom configuration. Krita

This really just makes the issue more confusing. It could be that those
applications are using Windows Ink instead of WinTab, but there shouldn't be
any reasons why it works in Windows Ink but not WinTab, unless the Wacom driver
screwed up (again).

Sorry, but this report doesn't have enough information to investigate what
might be the cause.

* We need to know the operating system
* We need to know the brand and model of the tablet
* We need to know whether the latest driver for the tablet is installed

Because, obviously, this doesn't happen for most people who use Krita with a
tablet, so it is most likely something peculiar to the reporter's system.

Yes.

5760x2160 - is a sum resolution of all monitors: One, main (3840x2160) - on the
left side, and two on the right side: TV (1920x1080) and Cintiq (1920x1080).
Cintiq is below the TV in the virtual space. That is why resolution = 5760x2160

I've just tried this solution:
https://www.reddit.com/r/krita/comments/5s1tuu/how_to_fix_multi_monitor_pen_pressure_issue_in/?st=j7rlma4w&sh=6fb45b01

...and it worked!!!

Maybe it was a driver or configuration issue, because I already saw this
resolution-conflict-dialog before, and already selected this first option with
"WinTab" before...

Hi William,

That's because we went to great lengths to improve the quality of the scaling
in the overview widget using oversampling and antialiasing. This is good for
the kind of images most people work with, but not ideal for very small,
pixel-art type images. We could disable that for small images, of course, but
that needs a bit of work.

I can also confirm that there are weird things happening with the red outline
and the size of the overview if the image is really small.

So, it looks like the problem is already resolved.

But if you want me to check experimental version - ask me, I will be glad to
help.

Yes, that's because once you're at white or black, there's no color information
left at all. There isn't much that we can do about it.

[okular] [Bug 384851] New: Multiple indipendent pages view

2017-09-19 Thread Germano Massullo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384851

Bug ID: 384851
   Summary: Multiple indipendent pages view
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: germano.massu...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

It would be useful to have document view splitted in two (or more) views with
indipendent page scrolling.

Use case: you are reading for example, paragraph 5.2.2 and at certain point the
book tells you to look again to 3.1.1.1 formula. You may want to be able to
scroll to that page while keeping 5.2.2 paragraph in front of you.

This is a pretty common phenomenon if an app doesn't exit cleanly and leaves
the terminal discipline at some nondefault value. You can reproduce e.g. by
executing "stty -echo", and repair by blindly typing "stty echo", or more
conveniently, "reset".

Deevad has complained about this issue, too. I haven't seen it myself, but I
seldom use Krita for longer than an hour or so, and it seems that it gets worse
the longer the session takes.

Thanks a lot for the hint, it indeed enables/disables this behavior.

Should this be treated as a konsole issue nonetheless? I'm asking because of
all terminals I have used so far, konsole is the only where I have witnessed
this behavior (apart from doing it explicitly using stty)
