There absolutely should be a config option and command line switch to disable
this (even if you don't agree that it should be disabled by default).

Imagine you want to take a screenshot from a fullscreen window, and then you
want to view this image fullscreen 1:1 on the same screen resolution. Sure you
can set up and remember yet another hotkey with -m, but then it doesn't even to
the exact same thing.

Ok. Does it happen for every file or just a particular file you cannot share?

Is there any way to produce some other file with this issue so you can share
it?

What is the way the faulty file has been produced (File -> Properties)?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

[akregator] [Bug 383686] New: akregator causing desktop effects restart

2017-08-19 Thread Manu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383686

Bug ID: 383686
Summary: akregator causing desktop effects restart
   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.5.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: manuavazq...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi,

I have just updated to kde applications 17.04.3, and now akregator causes
desktop effects to restart (I just need to start akregator and check on 3 or 4
different sources). Well, the pop-up notification says "desktop effects have
been restarted", but they are actually gone, and the task bar looks ugly-gray.
When this happens, dmesg shows

NVRM: Xid (PCI::01:00): 31, Ch 0070, engmask 0101, intr 1000

If I disable "Compositor during startup", everything is fine (but I have no
desktop effects).

I'm on Gentoo Linux, Qt 5.7.1, KDE Frameworks 5.34, nvidia-drivers-384.59. For
what is worth, a Fedora user reported a similar issue

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/k...@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/ROYS2NGD2TCGN5YLM7CQOPVN5XCLESP6/

Cheers.

I guess what I meant (I just stumbled upon this bug after 7 years) is that the
icon displayed in normal mode (with preview disabled) could be displayed in a
smaller version in the bottom-right corner of the preview when in preview mode.

[kdevelop] [Bug 383687] New: Adding newly imported projects to the build sequence: consider making it optional

2017-08-19 Thread RJVB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383687

Bug ID: 383687
Summary: Adding newly imported projects to the build sequence:
consider making it optional
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rjvber...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

While my multi-project sessions usually contain related projects it is
extremely rare that I have any use for the build sequence feature. If anything
it would require me to install through the IDE, which is something I'm very
unlikely to consider doing.
It's also a pure coincidence if I import projects in the exact order of
dependencies (if anything it's usually the reverse order).

Having projects declared in the build sequence thus interferes with building,
and I've made it a habit to remove each newly imported project from the build
sequence.

That's 2 unnecessary clicks that are beginning to grow old on me, so I'd like
to suggest considering a global option to disable the automatic adding of new
projects to the build sequence. Adding them manually also takes 2 clicks.

Attempt to restore OpenGL 2.1 support on non-OSX systems

Partially reverts d0a329fa4d83576d729baae5a0f65f5b7810f289 (D4506)
and reverts the effect of 96835a05b874abe85b95e1aff525faa4a91368a8.

`KisOpenGLCanvas2` inheritting from a versioned `QOpenGLFunctions_x_x`
isn't the best idea just to get `glLogicOp`, so I try to use an
alternative method to get it.

`glLogicOp` is supposed to be in OpenGL core functions since full
desktop OpenGL 1.0, just never had been a function in OpenGL ES 2.0 or
above, so it should be available even with `QOpenGLFunctions_1_0`. I
used `QOpenGLFunctions_2_1` just because that's the minimum version we
seem to supported before 3.2 release.

[kdevelop] [Bug 383688] New: problem reporter: search focus shouldn't grab focus

2017-08-19 Thread RJVB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383688

Bug ID: 383688
Summary: problem reporter: search focus shouldn't grab focus
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Problem reporter
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rjvber...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

A recent update in the 5.1 branch seems to have introduced a new feature where
the Problem Reporter's search widget gets focus automatically when you open the
toolview.

It shouldn't do that. You usually open that view to get feedback on code you're
editing, and the old behaviour of keeping the focus where it was (in the edit
window) is much more productive. FWIW, in order to restore focus you don't just
have to click anywhere, but in exactly the right spot, making this more than
just a minor hassle for me.

Also, the focus steal occurs even when the PR toolbar is hidden and the search
widget thus invisible, making this a bug rather than a wrong UI design
decision.

Overview over workspace when tools stop working

Hi,

I have a problem using any tool like a pen, selection after using Text tool.
I'm able to simulate it everytime with the following scenario:

1. create custom document
2. create text
3. create new layer
4. now If I want drag selection or text box on canvas or just want draw line
then nothing happens. I faced the same problem with 3.2 and 4.0 pre-alpha. I
tried to switch on and off OpenGL too.

[konsole] [Bug 383690] New: window size only saved on primary screen

2017-08-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383690

Bug ID: 383690
Summary: window size only saved on primary screen
   Product: konsole
   Version: 17.08.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: aiwend...@googlemail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If using the "General"->"Use current window size on next startup" option of
konsole the size of the konsole window is only remembered if it was closed on
the primary screen for me. Size changes on the secondary screen are completely
forgotten in the next startup.

Details:
- open konsole window on primary screen, change size, close on primary screen
-> works
- open konsole on secondary screen, resize, close -> doesn't work
- open konsole on primary screen, move window to secondary screen, resize ->
doesn't work
- open konsole on secondary screen, move to primary screen, resize -> works
- open konsole on secondary screen, resize on secondary screen, move to primary
screen, close -> doesn't work
- open konsole on secondary screen, move to primary screen, resize on primary
screen, move back to secondary screen, close -> works!!!

So from the looks of it it always works if the resizing is done on the primary
screen...where the windows is started and closed doesn't seem to matter.

Extra infos: Nvidia proprietary drivers, dual screen setup with main monitor at
1920x1080 and secondary monitor at 1280x1024, primary monitor set in kscreen
(and nvidia-settings loaded with "nvidia-settings -l" at DE start / not default
settings, by driver default the 1280x1024 monitor is set as the primary one)

I think that after update of KF to version 5.37 in view hex+char appeared some
strange highlighting. Also this was happened in char view, but after couple run
there is no highlighting. In meantime I only set "profile view".

Maybe this is related with incorrectly detected highlighting by KTextEditor
component, because similar strange highlighting I observed also in first run of
KWrite, when I opened simple text file. Here I set highlighting to "None" and
all back to normal. In case of KWrite I'm sure that it happened after update KF
to 5.37 version.

[plasmashell] [Bug 383693] New: Pop-up panel as part of another panel or System Tray

2017-08-19 Thread Gregor Mi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383693

Summary: Pop-up panel as part of another panel or System Tray

  Target Milestone: 1.0

I am kind of still struggling to get the following under one hat:

1) Use a number of Plasma applets
2) Don't clutter desktop with applets that are seldom but regularly used (see
also https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382872))
3) Being able to group several applets that have a common purpose (e.g. there
are different system monitoring applets with each are good at a specific task
but neither combines all features)
4) Being still able to quickly access the applets (especially those that are
only occasionally used)

Recently, I try to use an auto-hide panel for different monitoring applets but
the downside is that there are only 4 screen edges and on either side it
bothers when the mouse is accidentally touching it (which causes the panel to
appear) while trying to click buttons or using scrollbars on the current
application window.

Today, I had the following idea:

What about being able to create a panel that can be opened or closed by
clicking an icon in the main panel or the system tray? This way, the panel is
always out of the way when not needed, can be accessed quickly and is still
fully configurable with applets.

The only thing we could do is trying all plugins until one of them opens the

2017-08-19 Thread Paul
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383697

Bug ID: 383697
Summary: [Regression] Document print margins not persistent.
   Product: kate
   Version: 17.04.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pip@gmx.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Kate no longer saves the document print margins.

This means that each and every time the Printer Dialogue is opened, one needs
to set top, bottonm, left, and right margins as one requires. Which is,
putting it mildly, rather annoying :)

By comparison to, for example, Kate Version 3.14.7 using KDE Platform 4.14.7
which stored margin settings, along with other "Kate Print Settings" in
"~/.kde4/share/config/katerc":

Snippet from katerc
