Hm, so the solution or at least the way to go seems to be known. It's a good thing to have GTK3 applications working again in systray, but since this bug report is about Java applications ... [kio-extras] [Bug 380302] New: smb:// KIO still tries SMBv1 first which is blocked by modern servers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380302 Bug ID: 380302 Summary: smb:// KIO still tries SMBv1 first which is blocked by modern servers Product: kio-extras Version: unspecified Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: default Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org Reporter: kdeb...@whamra.com Target Milestone: --- After the latest patches, many Microsoft servers now block all SMBv1 requests, without even renogitiating. This causes programs like Dolphin to show a "Timeout on server" error, because it attempted an SMBv1 connection and failed. in smb.conf I have the min protocol specified to SMB2, but it seems the KIO slave for samba does not honour it, and still attempts an SMBv1 connection, assuming that it'll be able to negotiate if the server wants a higher protocol, which is not going to happen anymore. This results in the inability to browse any SMB shares without having to mount them manually somewhere. Suggestion: Either honour the min protocol configuration, or add settings to configure how KDE will handle samba. Or maybe allow us to specify version in URL somehow? [plasmashell] [Bug 380219] plasmashell crashes on startup w/ Qt 5.9
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380219 --- Comment #9 from David Edmundson --- >Qt docs do say "Warning: This function will return 0 if the scene graph has >not yet been initialized." That's something different. We're not calling it before a QQuickItem::updateNode so we know the scene graph is initialized. As for if we guard against it and check the images. Sort of, but you can't do QSGGeometryNode::setTexture(0) which means we can't unset one of the tiles in the 9-tile frame. So if you did guard it, you'd just leave a piece of the old frame there instead when we changed to a Frame that had some null images. The only correct solution is to delete the nodes as appropriate, but that requires a huge refactor and significantly more complex code. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Yes, it does. The root cause is described in comment #15. I cannot fix this myself because cet_nops.c uses byte sequences and does not use assembler mnemonics. My toolchain is not able to properly decode all byte sequences, even though I (and my CPU) believe they are valid ones. It would help immensely if you could divide the file (or better split it) in three sections: - with gs prefix - with fs prefix - with no prefix -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 380311] New: No way to launch ssh-agent with interactivity under Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380311 Bug ID: 380311 Summary: No way to launch ssh-agent with interactivity under Wayland Product: plasmashell Version: 5.9.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: generic-wayland Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: hec...@marcansoft.com Target Milestone: 1.0 AIUI, the supported method for launching background daemons that also set environment variables under Plasma is ~/.config/plasma-workspace/env/*.sh. Under X11, the $DISPLAY environment variable exists when these scripts are sourced. However, under Wayland, these scripts are sourced before the compositor is started and $WAYLAND_DISPLAY does not exist. This makes it impossible to launch ssh-agent and use it interactively, e.g. with SSH_ASKPASS=ksshaskpass because ksshaskpass has no idea what display to start in. I suspect the env scripts ought to be sourced from /usr/lib/startplasma (after kwin_wayland starts), not /usr/bin/startplasmacompositor. Or perhaps there should be two config directories, one for pre-compositor scripts and one for post-compositor scripts. Ugly workarounds are possible, of course (e.g. an autostart script that dumps the required variables somewhere, and an sshaskpass wrapper that pulls them in), but there should clearly be a better way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 29/05/2017 at 11:38. Pushed by fvogt into branch 'master'. Identify PIE binaries (application/x-sharedlib) as executable files Summary: x86_64 binaries compiled with PIE are just shared objects with the executable bit set. Without this patch, kio does not know that they can be executed as well, causing "kioclient5 exec" to ask for an application that can handle application/x-sharedlib. [valgrind] [Bug 379525] Support more x86 nop opcodes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379525 --- Comment #20 from Julian Seward --- (In reply to Tanya from comment #17) > Would it be possible to patch the 32-bit instruction parser as well? I saw that part in your patch, but didn't land it, because the 32-bit insn parser only goes up to and including SSSE3. So I thought that it didn't need to be patched. But now I'm not so sure. Is there any realistic scenario where we try to run 32 bit code on a CPU that advertises (via CPUID) that it can do only up until SSSE3, but also contains these NOP instructions? I think that's the key question. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[skrooge] [Bug 380187] Shares always use the current rate/value
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380187 --- Comment #5 from Stephane MANKOWSKI --- With the current way of working: ---|--|-- What | Day 1| Day 2 ---|--|-- € | 0.00 € [ 0 * 1.00 €]| 5.00 € [ 5 * 1.00 €] Apple | 33.00 € [11 * 3.00 €]| -6.00 € [ -2 * 3.00 €] Banana | 3.50 € [ 7 * 0.50 €]| 1.50 € [3 * 0.50 €] ---|--|- Total: | 36.50 € | 0.50 € ---|--|- Each operation amount is computed with the last value of its unit. Reports are easily computed (and with good performances) just by adding amounts. With the current way of working in "cumulative mode": ---|--|-- What | Day 1| Day 2 (Cumulated) ---|--|-- € | 0.00 € | 5.00 € [ 5.00 € + 0.00 €] Apple | 33.00 € | 27.00 € [ -6.00 € + 33.00 €] Banana | 3.50 € | 2.00 € [ 1.50 € + 3.50 €] ---|--|- Total: | 36.50 € | 34.00 € ---|--|- The cumulative reports are just a sum of previous columns + the current one. (easy and good performances) With your proposal: ---|--|-- What | Day 1| Day 2 ---|--|-- € | 0.00 € [ 0 * 1.00 €]| 5.00 € [ 5 * 1.00 €] Apple | 27.50 € [11 * 2.50 €]| -6.00 € [ -2 * 3.00 €] Banana | 35.00 € [ 7 * 5.00 €]| 1.50 € [3 * 0.50 €] ---|--|- Total: | 62.50 € | 0.50 € ---|--|- Each operation amount is computed with the value of its unit at the date of the operation. This way of computation is not good for performances because the value of the unit won't be always the same. With your proposal in "cumulative mode": We can sum euro (as today) ---|--|-- What | Day 1| Day 2 (Cumulated) ---|--|-- € | 0.00 € | 5.00 € [ 5.00 € + 0.00 €] Apple | 27.50 € | 21.50 € [ -6.00 € + 27.50 €] Banana | 35.00 € | 36.50 € [ 1.50 € + 35.00 €] ---|--|- Total: | 62.50 € | 62.00 € ---|--|- The cumulative reports are just a sum of previous columns + the current one. (easy and good performances) But, I think that this is not you want. We can sum quantities ---|--|-- What | Day 1| Day 2 (Cumulated) ---|--|-- € | 0.00 € | 5.00 € [ 5 * 1.00 €] Apple | 27.50 € | 27.00 € [ (11-2) * 3.00 €] Banana | 35.00 € | 5.00 € [ (7+3) * 0.50 €] ---|--|- Total: | 62.50 € | 37.00 € ---|--|- The computation of a cell is no more just a sum of €. This is a sum(quantity) * unit amount at the date of the cell. But if the column is a month, what is the date to take into account? The date of the operation? The last day of the month? The first day of the month? I think, this should be the last day of the month. It means that the operation doesn't have an amount but many amounts based on the report. This could be confusing because the report sell with display an amount and when the user will double click on the sell to see the corresponding operation he will see an other amount !!! Just to continue the discussion, you must know that some users have 2 accounts, one in euro and an other one in dollars. All reports/advice are computed based on the same value of the unit (the last value). If for example, this user spend 10 dollars in January and 10 dollars in February, he doesn't have an alert. Now, with your proposal, if the value of dollars change a lot, he will have an alert saying he spent more (or less) than in the previous month.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380311 --- Comment #2 from Hector Martin --- To be clear, the problem isn't that this is an interactive process *when those scripts are executed*, it's that the appropriate display environment variables need to be available so they are inherited by an intearctive child process at a later time, in response to a user request. For now I resorted to the aforementioned hack of wrapping ksshaskpass in a script that sources the display environment variables from somewhere else filled in by an autostart script. ssh-agent still starts from env/, but now the script it calls injects the right variables before execing ksshaskpass.
