Bah. Replace 'b' with 'x' in the explanation.

Also, I almost fixed this myself. Will submit patch tomorrow.

[Breeze] [Bug 368605] RTL Lang - the range line reversed

2017-05-18 Thread Hugo Pereira Da Costa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368605

--- Comment #7 from Hugo Pereira Da Costa ---
It is related to Quick controls.
Does not happen with standard widgets.
What seems to happen is that the input to the widgets properly handle r-to-l
layout, but not the rendering. I can change breeze to make the widget look
r-to-l oriented so that the handle stays below the mouse, and the blue area
appear on the right (as opposed to the left), although the issue is really
inside Qt (QCommonStyle). Andd then, still, the guy continues to behave
incorrectly: 0% is on the left, 100% is on the right -> not inverted.
So the issue is further upstream.
And not in breeze.

In QtCurve (just checked), the bug does not seem present, but here it seems to
be because the widget is not right-to-left inverted at all (though I'm unclear
as to why it behaves differently from breeze)

[plasmashell] [Bug 379658] Widget location in panel not saving on logout

2017-05-18 Thread Joshua Dodd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379658

Fixed it by adding a spacer. Not really too obvious to do though, since you
would think the widgets would stay where you put them.

Not sure if this is even a bug or not, I will keep this as unconfirmed for now.
If it's not a bug you can close this.

[valgrind] [Bug 379966] New: WARNING: unhandled syscall: 313

2017-05-18 Thread Bartosz Golaszewski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379966

Bug ID: 379966
   Summary: WARNING: unhandled syscall: 313
   Product: valgrind
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: memcheck
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: bartekg...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

There's no such syscall on x86_64. Seems to be triggered when the process tries
to check the state of a loadable kernel module:

rt_sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], ~[ILL TRAP BUS FPE KILL SEGV STOP], 8) = 0
open("/sys/module/gpio_mockup/initstate", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, ~[ILL TRAP BUS FPE KILL SEGV STOP], NULL, 8) = 0
gettid()= 6324
read(65530, "Z", 1) = 1
stat("/sys/module/gpio_mockup", 0xffefff220) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
getpid()= 6324
write(65529, "--6324-- WARNING: unhandled sysc"..., 41--6324-- WARNING:
unhandled syscall: 313
) = 41

In order to reproduce:
1. Clone https://github.com/brgl/libgpiod
2. Build the test suite (refer to README)
3. Run the test suite under memcheck (must run tests/.libs/gpiod-test, not the
libtool wrapper in tests/)

Actually is not running on save of the po file but is better now than before

[plasmashell] [Bug 379414] [Data Loss] - TaskManager loses launchers from alternative Activities

2017-05-18 Thread Eike Hein
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379414

Basically the reason is that the data round trip is broken between the model
and the applet. The launcherList() getter returns a list built from
d->launchersOrder, but the setLauncherList() setter builds a new
d->launchersOrder from what's passed in, and on a move(), the applet passes in
a new list based on what it sees after filtering by activity. The result is
that the launchers specific to activities other than the current activity get
dropped. The change signal is emitted, and a new list from the getter sans them
is written to the config.

To sum it up, if you have activity-specific launchers on an activity different
from the current one, reordering launchers in the currenty activity will remove
them.

This is not a regression in this dev cycle, this bug was introduced with
per-activity launchers in 5.9.0 and is a design oversight in the code.

We can't make setLauncherList() implicitly activity-specific because we need a
setter for the full list to reload it from config. We need a
setLauncherListCurrentActivity() that's smart enough to do a merge.

Ivan, can you write this? You solved the same problem for Kicker-based
launchers so you presumably have a preferred way now. I'd like to see
consistent behavior between the interfaces, if possible/desirable, and I'm not
exactly sure what policy decisions you made on the launcher menus side for this
case.

is serious and I'd like to see it addressed it in that release still, if
possible.

Hi, workaround worked. Also it gives notification that an archive will be
opened as Read Only and gives you an option to quit. IMO its better to simply
create a new line under toolbar in a different colour(how kate does it) that
says its Read Only mode. And if toolbar is moved elsewhere then show it under
menu.

Also i've tried to find any libzip bug trackers it appears there is none. How
important is this libzip? Is there a need to write authors to email?

I am trying to import photos from digital camera on Windows 10. The feature
does not work due to the fact that the camera is not detected by digiKam. I see
it works with gPhoto2, which is a Linux application. Will it be possible to do
this in MS Windows? If not, it would be better to only have this feature
available when the OS is Linux based. Rather hide it in MS Windows than
"creating futile hope".

[k3b] [Bug 379849] Rip fails to start when using clone mode and target exsists

2017-05-18 Thread Chris
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379849

It does fix the problem of the rip not starting, however I do think k3b should
prompt if the target exists for clone opperations. This is what happens for non
clone opperations and this behavior should be consistant throuh out the
application.

[krusader] [Bug 377268] 2.5.1 - Preserve directory structure checkbox missing in "Copy..."

2017-05-18 Thread Alex Bikadorov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377268

If I understood you right: You are comparing the content of two folders and
want to copy the resulting difference of one side to another location - as
backup.

If this is correct, would adding an option to specify another folder in the
Synchronize dialog (the one with "Right to left, "Left to right",...
checkboxes) as sync target be sufficient for your needs?

Confirmed. After a quick look I could not figure out why files are considered
equal although the have different timestamps (which is actually good, otherwise
files folders would not be equal after a sync).

Note for myself: with KIO::FileCopyJob::setModificationTime() this can probably
be easily fixed.

[kmail2] [Bug 379971] New: kmail asserts whenever I drop a mail into composer

2017-05-18 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379971

Bug ID: 379971
Summary: kmail asserts whenever I drop a mail into composer
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at
  Target Milestone: ---

I think this is a regression.
When creating a new mail and I'd like to drag&drop another email (e.g. from the
sent-folder) into the composer, kmail asserts:

20170518 15:47:49.280 CEST kmail2 unknown line:0: ASSERT failure in
FolderSettings::fallBackIdentity: "No resource found in collection", file
/home/KDE5/source/kde/pim/mailcommon/src/folder/foldersettings.cpp, line 326

In the debugger I see that the resource string is an empty string.
I'm pretty sure that worked in some earlier version.

I'm using KDE-PIM master from yesterday

Syncing archive content seems not to be supported at all right now.
Solutions:
1. Check if user wants to do it and abort with error message
2. Make it working

(2) is more complicated, of course. But maybe it will be be a fortunate side
effect after I simplify the code base...

Image of the freezing document

I was applying the dark blue color to my image, when the preview quit
displaying anything. The brush freezes on the image, nothing disappears when I
tell it to not show the layers, and I can't make changes.
I restarted everything and opened a new document. The same issues occurred, but
I could click the hide button twice to make any changes appear. The same is
going on with pre-existing images. I'm not sure what's going on.
There was a JPEG at the bottom of the image before, but I deleted it when the
freezing started, and the layers are masked to the image at the bottom of the
group.
Thank you.

You mean that you removed the ts support because it doesn't work ?
For me it works the po and ts version without any problem.

[krusader] [Bug 377268] 2.5.1 - Preserve directory structure checkbox missing in "Copy..."

2017-05-18 Thread fred frazelle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377268

Thank you very much, Alex, for personally replying.

Here's the situation:

Once i get the list of file and folders (folders being the other,
very important part here), all i want to be able to do is to copy those
to another folder, with the files once again appearing in their
respective folders. So, we would do the sync, then send to List Box and
from there, select just the files and then from the mouse i think,
select Copy. When the Copy window appeared, it would include a Check
Box to Preserve Original Structure or something to that effect so that
when the files were copied into the other pane/folder, they would
arrive, each in its original folder.

i suspect that what you are suggesting would only copy the files to the
new folder, but would leave out their folders. i don't know if you are
familiar with Areca Backup, but it seems to do the same thing, but it
creates a folder which contains the files, each in folder in which they
originally appeared.

i hope this clarifies the situation a little. Thank you again very much
for replying and asking the question. i suspect that getting the
program to make this "copy and maintain folder structure" is not as easy
as it sounds.

Have a wonderful day and keep up the great work! :)

fred:-)

No, I plan to preserver the folder structure. But when doing the sync its
possible that changes are made on both sides: copy some files from left to
right AND copy files from right to left.
But when doing a backup, this doesn't make sense. So I assume you only want to
copy the different files/folders of one side to some other location.

And I still don't get what two sides you are comparing. One side is the folder
containing your current original data. But with what are you comparing it?

[plasmashell] [Bug 379980] New: Crash on docking

2017-05-18 Thread Brian G .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379980

Bug ID: 379980
   Summary: Crash on docking
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: gis...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.9.5)

Qt Version: 5.8.0
Frameworks Version: 5.33.0
Operating System: Linux 4.10.13-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Archlinux Packages

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing before the crash:
Laptop was being used on battery without any external peripherals.

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Had just plugged in 2 monitors and then the USB 3 dock with Ethernet. Laptop
was still powered on. Monitors flashed and activated as usual. After the
monitors were activated, I noticed the KDE crash dialog saying plasma had
crashed, which is how this report was generated.

- Notable information:
I have KDE configured to have 2 taskbar panels - one on the bottom of the
laptop's internal display, and another one configured vertically on the left
edge of the first external monitor. I have had issues with panel positioning
and resizing in the past with multi-monitor configurations, so maybe this is a
related problem.

2017-05-18 Thread Martin Flöser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363224

Git commit 55f169d1c34491f0d97c8b7a162f4ba60f6849e2 by Martin Flöser, on behalf
of Luboš Luňák.
Committed on 18/05/2017 at 17:30.
Pushed by graesslin into branch 'Plasma/5.8'.

fix occassional crash caused by needlessly delayed signals (bko#363224)

As pointed out by the Valgrind trace in #363224, delaying the signal causes
the EffectWindow* argument to become invalid before the connected slot is
called (this is because Qt discards only delayed signal->slot calls where
the receiver gets deleted meanwhile, not the sender and definitely not
a random argument.
If the supposed glitches really happen, they should get fixed correctly,
and for all cases (I doubt only desktop number would be involved but
not e.g. shaded or minimized states).

Hi Ray,

Please update to 3.1.3. 3.0.1.1 is pretty old by now! Also, run a memory
checker. If things suddenly start getting unstable, it's probably not that the
application suddenly develops bugs.
