I think this is solved please check this bug report which sounds similar -
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355104 . try the new alpha releases to
test if this issue persists. If it is solved we can close this.

[krita] [Bug 361546] New: The brushes have become really slow in recent 3.0 alpha builds compared to their 2.9 counterparts

2016-04-09 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361546

Bug ID: 361546
Summary: The brushes have become really slow in recent 3.0
alpha builds compared to their 2.9 counterparts
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engine
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

I have noticed that some brushes have become really slow in builds ( probably
after the Vc 1.2 transition) first i thought this may be because the brushes
had complex tip, but then i chose basic brushes like Basic-tip-default to test
. I tested the same brushes in 2.9 and 3.0 with same settings. I have not
enabled instant preview to test the base speed and not the preview (Note below)

The results showed that there is a noticeable speed difference in basic
brushes, you can check the screen capture here ->
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3793/new-lag.mp4
(I will attach this video to this bug report too)

as you can see at the end of video the 300px brush takes too much time in 3.0
while the same brush with same size completes the stroke way before it gets
completed in 3.0

Now the reason to disable instant preview was that I wanted to see the
difference in real stroke and beside enabling instant preview gives on more
side effect since the brush takes too much time to load the stroke is not
finished in the background and it really hampers painting , often if you paint
something and then decide to delete or clear the canvas after 3-4 sec krita
hangs a bit as the stroke is still rendering in background.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open krita create a new document switch off the instant preview ( this is to
notice the actual speed of the brush)
2.Choose brush basic -tip-default and adjust the size above 120px
3. drawing on canvas with a reasonable speed

Actual Results:
the brush stroke takes too much time to complete even if it is normal basic
brush

Expected Results:
The performance of the brush should be onpar of what we had in 2.9 if not
faster than it .

Pardon me for setting this bug to major as this hampers the painting process
and I think this shouldn't go unnoticed , if you feel there should be a lower
priority to this report please change it.

[plasmashell] [Bug 359127] Desktop theme KCM 'details' and editing tab no longer present/functional

2016-04-09 Thread Michał Dybczak via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359127

Michał Dybczak changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||michal.dybc...@gmail.com

I'm joining the discussion because for me missing of those features is a big
step back.

Most of themes that are said to be transparent add it only slightly and for me
they are no go. Only ones available for TRUE transparency were Diamond and
Polished Stones, however they're were elements in them that weren't working
well for me:
- diamond adds white border to windows manager in desktop panel and the whole
look is not flat and obsolete,
- polished stones adds ugly, green icons and fonts on panel bar
- both use kubuntu icon kickstarter while I use manjaro and prefer to have
manjaro icon (far better looking)

The removed feature allowed me to mix manjaro's default flat them Maia with
diamond's elements to create exactly the flat, glassy, modern look I want and
LOVE!

Now the feature is gone and in the future if I wanted to change the look I
would be stuck with different/ugly/unfitting kickstarter (most themes use
default - kubuntu's one) and lot of other effects I dislike.

Sure, the feature of advanced theme mixing was a bit buggy but with some
experimentation one was able to achieve desired effect that works well.

Why not just give a little love to that feature rather then removing it? It was
very useful! This was one of the biggest features I loved about kde, I could
customize it in the inside (how it works) and outside (how it looks). Now it's
like the half of it was gone. My feeling is, we're going in the direction of
gnome. What is the point of KDE existing if not being extremely customable and
a complete opposite to gnome philosophy? People love KDE for it and now KDE
seems to loose its identity. I'm sad because of that.

I still hope that once devs figure out how to make this mixing theme feature
work, it will come back. Maybe not it the same version but still. Customizing
desktop look to such a degree EASILY that no other DE was able to, made KDE to
stand out, but now it became just average. A huge loos :(.

I can report that the screen locking issue seems fixed with the downgraded

There have not been any problems so far.

For completeness I will now upgrade the intel driver and downgrade
kscreenlocker-greet to see if the issue manifests itself or otherwise.

[Breeze] [Bug 361549] New: Some application which have dark default theme like krita should have dark breeze icon even if the system uses light breeze icons

2016-04-09 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361549

Bug ID: 361549
Summary: Some application which have dark default theme like
krita should have dark breeze icon even if the system
uses light breeze icons
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.6.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Icons
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com
CC: kain...@gmail.com

Krita uses dark theme by default and most of the icons are correctly displayed.
the problem arises when the save dialog box is opened , the icons used in this
dialog box is light themed breeze icon and it becomes very hard to guess which
button is what, the buttons itself is not visible. I am attaching a screenshot
for your reference

I believe that it would be great if the icons displayed would be according to
the theme of the application regardless of the system-wide icon theme.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Krita and create a new document, choose dark theme if it is not default
2.Trigger the save dialog by pressing Ctrl + S.

Actual Results:
you'll notice that the buttons such as create new folder or go to top folder
etc are using light breeze icon theme thus making them almost invisible

Expected Results:
the icon theme should match the theme used by application

AsI was confused whether this is a Krita bug or breeze bug I have added a post
on breeze polish forum topic and andreas k had suggested some solutions,
please have a look at the reply here ->
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=285&t=127663&start=150#p353927

If you think this is the wrong place to report and it should be reported to
krita then please close the report by stating so I'll file a bug report with
krita.

Also Andreas said that this is not specific to krita but also can be found in
gwenview and digikam, so I really hope we should solve this together

thank you

[kwin] [Bug 361551] New: completely fscked up window behavior when plasmashell is running

2016-04-09 Thread jos poortvliet via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361551

Bug ID: 361551
Summary: completely fscked up window behavior when plasmashell
is running
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.6.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jospoortvl...@gmail.com

Application: kwin_x11 (5.6.1)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Frameworks Version: 5.20.0
Operating System: Linux 4.5.0-3-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed (20160117) (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Just logging in after a reboot after updating to Plasma 5.6.1 and all that. I
couldn't move windows that were restarted from the previous sessions, they
would disappear one by one.

I suppose that somehow, plasma shell gives the weirdest information to kwin
about geometry. Things are fine when only KWin is working. Once I start Plasma
Shell, things explode spectacularly! I just don't know how to explain it so I
made some pictures and a video, see them here:
https://cloud.josandcamila.com/index.php/s/Hbl07hLaUWriMrf

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Windows can't be resized or moved. If moved on the left monitor, the
applications then crash/disappear. Sometimes kwin crashes entirely.

- Custom settings of the application:
Nothing special. What is special is, I guess, my screen setup:
one horizontal 2560x1440 screen; to the right one vertical 1080x1920 screen.
See video, pictures and screenshot.

Plasma Shell/Kwin is currently entirely unusable, sadly. I'm not sure if there
is a work-around, I'd appreciate one so I can work on Monday ;-)

The crash can be reproduced every time.

(In reply to Wolfgang Bauer from comment #5)

I have the newest openSUSE 42.1 and all updates installed, but I still see
those breeze icons, so this bug is not fixed yet :(
I deleted ~./.cache/icon-cache.kcache, but it did not help.

2016-04-09 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361546

Switching to lesser Vc version made a difference although the lag is still
there on higher size values above 300-450 px ,

I noticed most of the basic brushes suffer from this. For now I switched to Vc
.7 so that on lower size values the brush behaves well , but on bigger sizes
there lag is considerably high particularly the Block_basic brush

I have uploaded an new version of the digital clock applet to
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yl0wtpkd17j558n/digital-clock.tar.xz?dl=0

Can you overwrite (but make a backup first) your files at
/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock and try it again?

After overwriting these files you can restart plasma by pressing alt + f2 and
the execute "kquitapp plasmashell && plasmashell".

[krita] [Bug 342105] [HUION] Cannot right click with the Pen of Huion H610 Pro

2016-04-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

downshi...@gmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||downshi...@gmail.com

I'm having the same issue and was able to workaround by setting up a new Key
Combination for Show Popup Palette and setting the Huion pen tablet settings up
so that button 2 points to the same key combo (used ctrl+alt+0 since i don't
use it for anything else)

This is working flawlessly and instantly now - possible Krita is expecting the
mouse click only from the attached mouse / any reason it would restrict the
response because it's technically not a mouse? I'm wondering if, since Windows
sets the tablet up as a pen device (not purely as a HID) this could be a factor
(I'm on Windows 10 FYI)

Hope this helps someone as this was the only thing stopping me from using Krita
100%!

[plasmashell] [Bug 361553] New: Plasma crash on startup when switching between tty and plasma

2016-04-09 Thread Adrien Navratil via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361553

Bug ID: 361553
Summary: Plasma crash on startup when switching between tty and
plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: adrien1...@live.fr
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

Application: plasmashell (5.4.2)

Qt Version: 5.4.2
Operating System: Linux 4.2.0-35-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 15.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Plasma was starting, I did CTRL + ALT + F1 to go on TTY to do some things, then
I went back to KDE (CTRL + ALT + F7) and it crashed, I justed pressed the
restart button.
Also I did it another time (2 minutes later) and it crashed again, but it
doesn't do it everytime.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

Just before crashing I saw some weird shapes (graphical bugs) but It does it
everytime (when I switch from tty or when I switch from a fullscreen
application) without crashing.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

-- Backtrace:

It simply is one of math - we have a very very limited amount of devs, very few
people from the community helping out meaning that even smaller issues becomes
things that soak up time for everyone.

The theme editor didn't work well enough to be included with a good conscience
and currently the best method is one where you use the Plasma-SDK package to
check, blend and test themes (the Theme Explorer specifically) - granted I too
want a better situation where perhaps we could have a "theme creator" as an
application or something. But that has to be a future choice and one based on
whether there are people enough to do it. Having a Plasma desktop starting,
working as expected, systemtray etc is more relevant than the theme editor
which is harsh but the truth.

Love sadly is no match against "manpower", "time" and "developer fatigue"
