The text on archive pages renders yellow on white in my browser.
The probable reason for this is that you set page background to white
but did not set text color.
Fortunately you seem to use stylesheets so this should be easy to fix.

Weird. I use Mozilla/Linux as my default browser every day,
and have not seen this. Can you reproduce the problem on other
computers?

[Gossip] Anti-spam measures?

2002-03-20 Thread Daniel J Peng

I was somewhat surprised to see a Google search for my email address
turn up a hit at mail-archive.com. See the multiple copies of my email
address at the bottom of
http://www.mail-archive.com/cdwrite@other.debian.org/msg02667.html .
When the archives "strip out, scramble, or obfuscate all email addresses from message
headers and bodies", does that not include HTML emails?

Daniel,

The obfuscation on message bodies is new; it wan't in effect in
January when the reference message was archived. (We've had
obfuscation or hiding of headers for a long time.) You can see the
minor body obfuscation in action by viewing the source of a recent
message. [1] I think it works on HTML mail as well, but have never
bothered checking.

Now the bad news is that I set up a honeypot address to catch spam as
soon as I added this obfustication, and that's already caught one
piece of spam, indicating a harvest. This is depressing, and I suspect
Mail-Archive will ultimately lose this arms race to the bad guys.
