In addition, +Indexes is already set by the main apache2 configuration (please let us know if it is not working as expected). I manually overwrote the offending copy of the `.htaccess' file on the server, however the changes still need to be checked into CVS or the next time the website builds `/software/gcc' will be taken offline again.
