[GSoC]Bypass assembler when generating LTO object files

2022-03-06 Thread Ankur Saini via Gcc
Hi,

I was browsing the list of submitted GSoC projects this year and the
project regarding bypassing assembler when generating LTO object files
caught my eye.

I already have a gcc built from source (sync-ed with trunk/master) and
launched the test-suite on it.

I am currently in process of understanding the primilary patch
(https://gcc.gnu.org/legacy-ml/gcc/2014-09/msg00340.html), and
experimenting with it.

are there any other things I should be aware of (useful Doc/blog or a
bug tracking the project) before proceeding further ?

I am Ankur Saini, a B.Tech CSE 3rd year student at USICT, GGSIPU india
and a former GSoC contributor at gcc ( worked on expanding gcc static
analyzer's C++ support in GSoC 2021

Thanks

Re: Reqister to become gcc mirror site

2022-03-06 Thread Ceasar Sun

Dear Gerald,

I'm Ceasar Sun ,  from Free Software Lab, NCHC ,  Taiwan.
We provide several free software mirror service in Taiwan : free.nchc.org.tw
We would like to become a gcc mirror site and the service would be presented
as :

Country :  Taiwan ,TW
City: Hsinchu
Site: https://free.nchc.org.tw/gcc/
Contact e-mail : fs...@nchc.org.tw
Contact Name : FSLab Team , NCHC

So, which upstream gcc site we should use ?

It's best if you use gcc.gnu.org directly. Is this what you are now
doing? Is there anything you need? (I believe it's probably best to
mirror using rsync.)

I try to use the follow command but get failed :
rsync  -azvSHP --delete --delay-updates rsync://gcc.gnu.org/gcc/
$gcc_local_path

So, we  use "rsync://mirror.marwan.ma/gcc/"  as our upstream currently.
What should to fix for the above command ?

As a next step we then just need to add you to our mirros page at
https://gcc.gnu.org/mirrors.html, something like the following:

+Taiwan, Hsinchu: https://free.nchc.org.tw/gcc/";>nchc.org.tw, thanks
to FSLab Team, NCHC (fs...@nchc.org.tw)
Yes, the info is correct, please add out site  on the mirror list and
thanks for the help.

Please stop naming Taiwan like that. `China, Taiwan, Hsinchu` is acceptable;
`Taiwan` is not.
