I an highly in favour of sound in E. I always use sound, excepting for the moment when I can't yet get it to function on my new computer... such sadness. So please keep it in. [e-users] vanishing window problem
Greetings -- I am using E 16.6 on a gentoo box. Here is what has happened. First off, all other windows are acting normal, so this problem is limited to the one instance. I'm sure most of you are familier with KPPP. So, I start the program and all is good. I get my window. I log on. When it makes the connection there should be a window come up that shows connection speed, time connected, and the 'disconect' and 'details' buttons. This window does not appear. 1. I do not have it set to minimize this window or anything like that, as KPPP has setting for such things. 2. If I bring up the task list, KPPP is in the task list. If I am on a different desktop, clicking KPPP in the task list will take me to the desktop where KPPP should be, but it is not there. 3. It is not hidden behind any other windows or anything. I have minimized all windows and it's not there. 4. I have only one icon box. It's not in there. 5. This use to work fine, suddenly one day it just starting doing this. I poked around in the .enlightenment directory - looking in files for something obvious, but if the answer was there I don't know enough to understand it. I'm wondering if maybe the window is appearing but at a coordinates that is off the viewable area of the screen. If that makes sense. Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thank you. [e-users] Gentoo & Legacy E-conf
Opps... Sending this again as I sent it from the wrong email address & don't know if it will go thru. I appoligize for my stupidity if this appears on list twice I do know that E-Conf is no longer supported, but I do like it. =) Questions: Is there a package for Gentoo for E-Conf? If so, what the heck is it called. I can't find it, tried gentoo.org and searching with emerge. If not, where can I find the source code. I check enlightenment.org, but no luck there, unless I'm just not looking in the right place. Thank you very much. Right on, that did it. Thank you very much. What exactly is this eesh? I tried 'man eesh' but there is no man page it seems. [e-users] Gentoo, E17 & Entrace
I was wondering if any Gentoo users have emerged Entrance & E17. I see that both of these & all the dependencies for them are masked. But I am guessing they work pretty well even if not totally stable. I also expect that E17 is not fully functional yet since it's still being written. Mostly I would just like to see how it's going and play with it. So, is it same to emerge both of these without destroying anything? And would I be correct that E17 / E16 are slotted so they can coexist? One other question, does E17 use the same *.menu files as E16? Can I take .enlightenment/file.menu and other such files and simply copy them to the E17 directory? Thank you in advance for your answers.
