[ANN] Apache Tomcat mod_jk 1.2.18 Web Server Connector released

2006-07-27 Thread Rainer Jung
The Apache Tomcat team is pleased to announce the immediate availability
of version 1.2.18 of the Apache Tomcat mod_jk web server connector.

mod_jk is a connector which allows a web server such as Apache HTTPD
to act as a front end to the Tomcat web application server.
This version contains several enhancements and fixes a number of minor
bugs of the previous version 1.2.15.

See http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/changelog.html
for a complete list of changes.

Source distribtions can be downloaded from an
Apache Software Foundation mirror at:

http://tomcat.apache.org/download-connectors.cgi

Binary distributions for a number of different operating systems and
web servers can be downloaded from an
Apache Software Foundation mirror at:

http://tomcat.apache.org/download-connectors.cgi

Documentation for using mod_jk with Tomcat 3.3, 4.1, 5.0 and 5.5
can be found at:

http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/

Thank you,

The memory is keep increasing if I do the same test every time and the memory
is poingint to InternalInputBuffer as mentioned.

I tried the same with Tomcat 5.0.28 and there memory accumulation in this
version.

Re: Testing

2006-07-27 Thread gaston . azerty

Thnaks for your councils, but really to obtain this information (i.e The cookie
JSESSIONID in the request is it always valid.) I mostly prefer asking it to
Tomcat than to create a probably incomplete mechanism on Apache.
(And personnally I think that adding an interface to obtain an information
already existing in a java code is much easier than recreating a mechanism in a
C project in order to obtain the same information :) )

So, I reformulate my question differently :
Do you know the name of the structure/object managing Tomcat's cookies in a
cluster? Or how does Tomcat make to know if cookie is valid?

Regard,

Thomas

I don't know how to obtain origianl request url. I used the
request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.forward.request_uri") and it returned the
same thing as the request.getURI(). Can anyone give an example?

Summary: Included files not found in Tomcat 5.5.17
   Product: Tomcat 5
   Version: 5.5.17
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: P2
 Component: Jasper
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Upon upgrading from Tomcat 5.5.9 to 5.5.17 (fresh install on 2 machines),
using similar setup (changes to server.xml only), certain jsps on my site are
not found when they are included within another jsp.

My question is, has something changed in the configuration of Tomcat? Why
would some includes work and others not? My code looks like this..

<%@ include file="/catalog/header.jsp" %>

The Exception is..

SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /index.jsp(12,0) File "/catalog/header.jsp"
not found

d:/webapps/concept700dev/catalog/index.jsp exists
d:/webapps/concept700dev/catalog/header.jsp exists

My server.xml setup is..

Re: Testing

2006-07-27 Thread Filip Hanik - Dev Lists

This is a question for the user list

Filip

[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Regard,

Thomas

Hi,

I suppose the answer to my question will be no, but I need so much that I

prefer

to ask the question...

Is it possible for an external program to test if a session exists on the

server

Tomcat?
In fact, I am working on mod_jk and I would like to send a HTTP request to
Tomcat only if the cookie JSESSIONID linked to this request is a valid

session

on Tomcat.

I would do this in mod_jk (or mod_proxy): You receive the JSESSIONID

>from the Tomcat with the AJP response, you just have to store them.

Yes, of course I have already considered this approach but in a context

where

there are a lot of clients and severals mod_jks, I will need to synchronize

the

mod_jks (The HTTP requests may be dispatched randomly on the mod_jks) then
provide memory to store this data and mechanisms to find the stored

JSESSIONID

whereas all that already exist in Tomcat...

For the memory handing have a look on the
httpd(httpd-proxy-scoreboard)/modules/mem ;-)
You probably have to create one slot mem per JSESSION and you need
"controled" access.

Cheers

Jean-Frederic

Thank you for your answer, I wonder whether I will not take a look on the

Tomcat

mechanism of replication... (Not really delighted by that :[ )

Regards,

Thomas

Cheers

Jean-Frederic

This work has been realized in a context where we want to update the

application

running on Tomcat (and JOnAS for the EJB server), as a result we have to
separate the clients working on the old version from the clients working

on

the

new one.

Regards,

Thomas

The handling of encoded ; characters has now been fixed in the SVN and will be
included in 5.5.18 and later.

I have tested MKCOL /webdav/test%3Btest and the file test;test is created. All
of the other issues I saw whilst investigating this bug were client related.
These issues are likely to continue to cause problems in this area. (For
example, IE doesn't encode the ; when requesting test;test and throws a fit if
you try.) On this basis I am closing this bug.

If you believe this bug is still valid please test using telnet before
re-opening to make 100% sure you are seeing a Tomcat issue rather than a client
one.
