Should I have create a JIRA too?

ASF booth at JBCNconf 2020

2020-02-13 Thread jean-frederic clere

Hi,

The JBCNconf in Barcelona Mon, Jul 6, 2020 – Wed, Jul 8, 2020, has
offered us a booth space for the ASF.

They are also thinking of proposing a special rate for Apache
Committers, in exchange we have to help them to promote their conference.

I will create a page in the ComDev

possible booth at the JBCNConf 2022 July , 18-20.

2022-03-22 Thread jean-frederic clere

Hi,

We can get a table and a chair at the JBCNFConf in Barcelona, July
18-20, one of the organizer proposed me:

"
Also this year we are giving a small place in a stand for opensource
communities , for free. So if you could help us on bringing in the
Apache Foundation that would be great. We provide a table and chair, and
a free ticket , and the foundation only needs to send a person to be
present on the stand for several hours during the event.

"

Any interest? - I will be in Barcelona at that time -

As a speaker you need to go to https://www.jbcnconf.com/2022/ and CFP ;-)

I am interested on behalf of Apache APISIX 🙂

Let me know what to do next.

The proposal is to get a booth where we can hand off some ASF swags,
goodies, flyers etc.

The booth needs to be manned and the JBCNConf 2022 will list the ASF in
its communities page, if we want the ASF to be there.

Hello Fellow Foundationites,

Jonathan Vila, cc'd, emailed me a bit ago about jbcnconf 2020.  They

offer a free shared stand to OSS foundations.

The event is July 6th through the 8th of 2020 in Barcelona.  More info
at http://www.jbcnconf.com/2020/

Jean-frederic Clere, also cc'd, has offered to lead an Apache delegation
and we have a few other volunteers, cc'ing our ComDev team. So Apache
will be there and I wanted to spread the word to have some other
Foundations share the booth!  We'll be creating a wiki page and can help
coordinate booth slots, etc.

I will need some help with "a rollup, flyers and some swag for attendees".

Do we have some available? I have a storage space 50 km from Barcelona
in case.

For attending the booth I will create a wiki page.

Hi.

A big THANKS to everybody who participated in the 2 events and/or helped at
or before the events. And to everybody else, you missed a great event :-)

It was nice 5 days, and as usual nice to talk to a lot of people. I hope
everybody who participated had a super experience.

For me it was especially fun, to prepare the event together with Linux
Foundation, those people do a lot to make the event a success.

I have a list of things we could do better, based on input from many people
attending the conference. Thanks for the constructive input.

Do we have the total number of attendees for each part of the conference?

Something ugly like
http://people.apache.org/~jfclere/APACHECONEU2016/eu2016.otp

It is based on the Vancouver ones a bit fixed to adapt to 4:3 and with
a bunch of CC pictures I have picked from the internet.

Please help to improve it... Let's see what the Linux foundation
provides us tomorrow.

In Tomcat and PLC4X we did a Hackathon with EU-FOSSA2, the event
organize itself once you have a venue and a bunch of tables/power
supplies/coffee. A wiki page to list the committers and the proposed
topics is enough to start.
A paper flip board is good to get the table organization, last minutes
topics etc.

Booth at DevBcn 2023 July 3 to 5 in Barcelona.

2023-06-12 Thread jean-frederic clere

Hi Everyone,

The DevBcn 2023 organizers have offered the ASF a booth, 2 tickets to
run the booth and 3 tickets for members of the foundation.

The booth is 1 table and 2 chairs.

If you want to help at the booth or if you are member of the ASF and
want a ticket, ping me privately (first come first served)

If you are presenting there and want stickers of your project, I might
be able to get those.

Any question? Ask me ;-)

possible booth at the DevBcnf 2024 June , 13-14.

2024-04-04 Thread jean-frederic clere

Hi,

We can get a table and 2 chairs for our booth at the DevBcn in
Barcelona, June 13-14.

Any interest?

I will be in Barcelona at that time, the agreement is the same as last
year and I can do the 50% presence at the booth.

Is it OK for me to sign the agreement as I signed it last year?

And who needs a copy of the agreement?

If we accept we get 2 tickets for the booth and 3 additional tickets for
ASF committers.

Re: [C/C EU 2024] Who is going to run the ASF table?

Hi All

Apologies for the slow response. Unfortunately these days my bandwidth is very
limited so am really happy to see others stepping up to help outthank you!
(that's how community works! :-)

So the main thing regarding the booth is getting the table setup with giveaways
and stickers, and also having someone physically in Bratislava that can take
delivery of whatever gets ordered, run the booth, and take responsibility for
tidying up afterwards. Also depending on if there is anything left over what to
do with it.

Sticker-wise - it's generally good to have stickers available for any project
that has a presentation on the schedule and we also take specific requests.

Money-wise ComDev did have some budget allocated for getting giveaways and
stickers etc for various events including CoC so will need to check that we
still have some funding available and that it is also OK to spend it.

I'll connect with Atita keep her in the loop and also check with the Comdev PMC
regarding budget and spending.

Could I get some extra stickers for DevBcn? (Tomcat, Cassandra, Kafka,
Camel are the more asked)

I am going to Bratislava by train so I have space to carry left over and
use them at the ASF booth in DevBcn mid June.

Thanks
Sharan
