Request for Mentoring to Start Contributing to Apache Projects
Dear Apache Development Team, I hope this message finds you well. I recently subscribed to the mailing list and have been following the community with great interest. As I am eager to begin contributing to Apache projects, I am writing to inquire if there might be any mentoring or guidance available for new contributors. I would appreciate any advice, resources, or potential mentoring opportunities you could offer to help me get started. I am enthusiastic about learning and contributing, and I am open to any suggestions on how best to integrate into the Apache community. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Re: Request for Mentoring to Start Contributing to Apache Projects
Dear Piotr, Thank you so much for your quick and helpful response! I truly appreciate your guidance and the encouragement to get involved. I’m particularly excited about contributing to Apache Airflow and would love to get started by reaching out to the right community members. Could you please advise which email address or mailing list I should contact specifically for mentorship and guidance regarding Apache Airflow? Any pointers or additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for your support. I’m really looking forward to diving in and contributing to the Apache community. On Sun, Feb 9, 2025 at 4:51 PM Piotr P. Hi Ranuga, On 9.02.2025 12:04, Ranuga D wrote: I would appreciate any advice, resources, or potential mentoring opportunities you could offer to help me get started. I am enthusiastic about learning and contributing, and I am open to any suggestions on how best to integrate into the Apache community. The Apache Software Foundation oversees more than 200 mostly independent projects[1]. We do mentor new contributors, but the details depend on the project. You should probably: * choose the project that interests you the most. * ask on the project's mailing list, what kind of help they need and how you can contribute. The only common characteristic of all projects is that each one of them needs help. Piotr [1] https://projects.apache.org/
