Re: MODERATE for ment...@community.apache.org
Hello Harshad Yadav, mentors@ is the list for mentors only, not for GSoC contributors :) I can recommend you to check this page: [1] Then find the project you would like to participate in here: [2] (you can filter by your favorite language :)) Additionally you can search for the "gsoc2025" label in JIRA [3] :) Also we recently added a page in our community website with projects that have "Good Frist Issues". You can see it here: [4] It might help you to know where to start. Please send any additional questions to the dev@community mailing-list or better to the dev@ list of the particular Apache project you would like to contribute :) [1] https://community.apache.org/gsoc/ [2] https://projects.apache.org/projects.html [3] https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse [4] https://community.apache.org/committers/good-first-issues.html > > -- Forwarded message -- > From: Harshad Yadav > To: ment...@community.apache.org > Cc: > Bcc: > Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2024 22:54:32 +0530 > Subject: Contributing Your Project > Hi Mentors, > > My name is Harshad Yadav. > > I would like to contribute to your project. Re: [Marketing] Open Source India 2024
Hello Rich, Thanks for pointing that out! Indeed I missed some context. I meant "we" here as Apache Software Foundation. We (Apache Software Foundation) have a booth opportunity at Open Source India 2024, I have shared this update on the ComDev dev mailing list here[1]. I think we should also add it to Apache events. 1. https://lists.apache.org/thread/2pmcb5q7f514cjtz1x5mmfokw0f07moz 2. https://events.apache.org/event/calendar.html Thanks and regards, Aditya Sharma On Mon, 14 Oct 2024 at 04:36, Rich Bowen wrote: > > Rich > > On Sun, Oct 13, 2024, 10:51 AM Aditya Sharma > wrote: > > > Hello team, > > > > We are participating in the Open Source India meetup[1] as > > community/supporting partners (we will have a booth as well), and we > > generally promote the event and our participation via our media > > channels. > > > > > Who is "we" in this sentence? > > > > We would like to request the M&P team to help us promote our > > participation via the main ASF media channels. > > > > Here are some quick links to their social media accounts > > https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/open-source-india/ > > https://twitter.com/opensourceforu > > > > We could mention that community passes are free for the event > > > > P.S. Re: Proposal for a Working Group - wg-targetted-mentoring
Reiterating what I said in Denver - this is a fantastic idea, and a great way to get people involved in projects that might otherwise become invisible. Part of this might also be working with projects to more directly call out other projects that they depend on, collaborate with, or are depended on by. Which in turn gives me an opportunity to point to work that Serge did last week - https://github.com/sergehuber/asf-projects-visualizer - which begins to call out these inter-project linkages that we might be overlooking. I encourage you to have a look at his work, and perhaps think about ways we could integrated it into this effort. —Rich > On Oct 10, 2024, at 5:48 PM, Nick Burch wrote: > > Hi All > > I'd like to propose a new Working Group. Re: [Marketing] Open Source India 2024
[Moving to markpub@, since this is an internal conversation] Since we are participating in this event, we can do some social media leading up to it. It would help if we knew a little more about what ASF would be doing. Just the booth, what do you plan to discuss with attendees, that sort of thing? Let us know, and we can schedule some posts.
