push out another blog on Friday (9th), highlighting the first confirmed
speakers for the Cassandra World Party that will take place *on 28th April*.

[FOR REVIEW] Content Pipeline Process wiki

2022-02-17 Thread Chris Thornett
For those who are interested in content, I've added a draft page on the
Apache Cassandra content process to the wiki (as requested) for discussion
and finalizing.

*Note:* This is different to documentation. This is essentially the content
marketing for the project.

Since 4.0, there has been more activity around content and this doc is
intended to inform those who want to contribute on the current process
we're using, highlight the goals we want to achieve, and the different
types of content the community is producing on the blog and for external
press sites.

The draft currently covers:
* Content goals
* Content themes
* Who's involved currently
* Content planning process
* Content pipeline overview

At the end, I've included some suggested areas where help may be needed.
Please take a look at the doc and let me know what you think needs
adding/amending etc.

Re: Re: [FOR REVIEW] Content Pipeline Process wiki

2022-02-18 Thread Chris Thornett
I must admit, I've not dived into Jira's much yet (I've done one, I think),
but if you think a separate Jira issue type would help, I'm all for
it, Mick!

*Topic review*
One thing that I'd like to highlight from the content process wiki page is
the need to review the topics we would like to cover as a community. I'm
particularly referring to the technical/feature topics and the correct
editorial approach we want to take. The list on the Google Doc (the first
tab) was something I inherited about a year ago and I expect it needs
refreshing. It would be great to see a few knowledgeable community members
hack on the list or, if it's easier, I can arrange a quick call,
individually or as a group, to flesh out what people think we should cover
in 2022:
Here's the doc (note: set to comment for all now it's in the wild on the
wiki, but Slack me if you need edit rights):

To tie this up, I've added the changes to the process that Mick flagged -
thanks! If there are any further alterations please let me know. If there
aren't any more improvements, I'll assume, using lazy consensus, that
everything is good if I don't hear back by EoW (4 March).

{Marketing] For Review: Changelog blog #17 - June

2022-07-05 Thread Chris Thornett
Hello everyone,

I'm opening the Changelog blog for June for its 72-hr community review
period. Please flag any amends in the comment section. Thanks!
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lR0dI_s3GKVhqAKudJACek_1dI2wpa4FjpwKf-hSB6k/edit

We have a 4.1 blog going out on Thursday, so setting the publication date
for Changelog as Tuesday 12 July as Friday is probably too quick a
turnaround.

Thanks,

Re: [Marketing] For Review: Performance Benchmarking of Apache Cassandra in the Cloud

2022-08-31 Thread Chris Thornett
Update: This blog is on hold for additional discussion and amends. Work is
also required to supply filtered links to certain benchmarks referenced
which won't be complete until 2 September. For that reason, revising the
suggested publication date to 6 September, but as it's a public holiday in
the US on 5 Sept it may slip to later in the week.
