Phorum is a web based discussion forum written in PHP, used by many sites,
such as DebianPlanet.

Phorum seems to be much more lightweight than other database-driven
web-forums (i.e. sporum)...

The license is at http://www.phorum.org/license.txt

Bug#160529: ITP: ask -- Active Spam Killer

2003-01-09 Thread Larry Gilbert
I found this in the list of requested packages and
thought I'd give it a go. I think I'm actually more
than halfway done with it already. I like it.

Small hitch: I've been out of the Debian-development
loop for a while. It looks like my account
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) is still in the system, but the
password I used to have no longer works, perhaps
because it's been too long since I've done anything.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to get
reinstated, I'd sure appreciate it. TIA.

I'm just curious, but how does this compare to billard-gl?

(I'm certainly not implying there's no place in the archive for another
 3D billiards game ;-)

The main differences are :
- foobillard supports network play (I should add this to the
  description)
- foobillard supports more game types (snooker and carambol)
- foobillard has an AI player

According to the billard-GL website , these features are also planned
there.

I started using foobillard because it looked easier to add snooker code
(and it was easy), but the upstream author had the same idea at the same
time (although the current snooker ai and rule evaluation are mine)

I forgot to mention that preliminary packages are available at:

deb http://www.xs4all.be/~gevaerts/debian/bin/i386 ./
deb http://www.xs4all.be/~gevaerts/debian/bin/powerpc ./
deb-src http://www.xs4all.be/~gevaerts/debian ./

i386 is out of date, but should build from source without problems;
and the current packages are non-free (because of the fonts)
Also, the included manpage is a bit old.

Bug#175968: RFP: gt.m -- industrial strength, transaction processing application platform

2003-01-09 Thread Andreas Tille
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2003-01-09
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: gt.m
  Version : V4.3-001D
Upstream Author : Sanchez (bhaskar at users.sourceforge.net)
* URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/sanchez-gtm
* License : GPL for Linux x86
(It has to be checked whether it is portable to any
other architecture but I was told that it contains
a lot of Assembler statements. Sanchez is selling
 this software for other architectures.)
Description : industrial strength, transaction processing application
platform

GT.M[tm] is a vetted, industrial strength, transaction processing application
platform consisting of a database engine optimized for high TP throughput and
a compiler for the M (aka MUMPS) programming language. GT.M is open-souce
freeware on x86/Linux.

This is a precondition for the VISTA package (http://www.hardhats.org/)
which would be a really important application to have for the Debian-Med
project.

Bug#133649: cm-super packaging

2003-01-09 Thread Josselin Mouette
I'm also interested in packaging the cm-super fonts, and it seems
possible to do since the latest changes in the tetex packages.

Are you still interested in this package, and are you planning to
release something soon ?

Bug#175875: ITP: python-bz2 -- bzip2 compression for python

2003-01-09 Thread Cédric Delfosse
FYI, From http://www.python.org/2.3/NEWS.html :

"""
New module bz2: provides a comprehensive interface for the bz2
compression library. It implements a complete file interface, one-shot
(de)compression functions, and types for sequential (de)compression.
"""

So this will be a module included in python 2.3 (python version for the
next stable version).

Matthias already told me about this. But since 2.3 isn't the default
python (yet) and I need python-bz2 I will create a package for
python2.2.

This is lucky !

> Are you still interested in this package, and are you planning to

Being straight:

1/ I am still interested with this package.
2/ Unluckily, i am very busy this year [Je prépare l'agrégation de
mathématiques, i guess you understand well what 'busy' means here], and
have few time to spend with leisures (other than maths) and people, so i
do not plan any release soon.
3/ I had no other contacts on this topic, so i have not any previously done
work to give you as a 'starting point'.

I hope you will be successfull in this enterprise,
Regards,

Bug#174875: ppoeconf already does PPtP/dsl...?

2003-01-09 Thread Wesley W. Terpstra
I have a PPtP/DSL connection.
pppoeconf already seems to work?

T-Online and mediaways both worked with it just fine.
What is the specific issue needing resolution?

Since I use this package regularily I may be willing to adopt it.
