Domain name server
Hello all, I have one PC at work with debian installed, where I would like to use ftp (we have a fast connection). In the manual it is described how to configure the resolv.conf file, i.e you must write the IP address of the domain name server, but what if you don't have any? We reach Internet through a proxy, shall I use its IP address instead?. Thanks for help. Best regards EE. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? The search of the lost font
Hello everyone! I have just made a small installation with Debian 2.0. I download it since I don´t need all of the exellent software, but I guess I have missed some packages. When I tried to install X I am droped into xf86config instead of XF86Setup, at that point I stopped the installation and tried to start XF86Setup myself, wich results in the following message "Not all of the standard font files are installed. The file /usr/X11R6/libs/X11/fonts/misc/fonts.dir is missing." It doesn´t seem like a serious problem, but I am unable to find out where to get these files. Is there anyone who can help me? By the way, does anyone know if there is any collaboration between XFree and Intergraph? At work we are going to use PCs with their graphic card Intense 3D and I thought it could be interesting to install Debian on one of them. Boot problem
Hello Three questions: 1. I am trying to install Debian on an IBM ThinkPad 760EL but the machine dont want to boot. I use a floppy with resc1440.bin, at the boot prompt I type "linux floppy=thinkpad" with no results. I have read the instructions about boot parameters to use and ThinkPad is mentioned there, but I guess I dont type it right. 2. I wonder if anyone has heard about running Pro/E under linux. The reason is we want to buy cheap and fast hardware (meaning with Windows NT) but keep our archives in UNIX if it possible to use it, Linux seems to be an interesting alternative. 3. Can you recommend any SQL based freeware for Linux, we would like to do some tests. Best regards EE. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Mouse modules
Hello I am trying to install a PS/2 Mouse driver on a ThinkPad 760EL where the mouse is installed that way (at least Windows says so), but modconf answer me that psaux don't have any module parameters, and depends on misc.o. Where can I find that file?? Best regards EE -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
