I don't think this can be the case, because I've had the same problem running the 2.4.10 kernel. I just deleted the file it mentioned and it works all right for now, but I'm thinking that's not a good permanent solution : ). Anyone else know anything? Related, I mean : ). --Daniel
Re: install floppy problem
I think the newest boot floppies take care of this. Try re-downloading and re-creating your boot-floopies. --Daniel On Fri, Oct 19, 2001 at 04:02:50PM -0400, Timothy Webster wrote: > I am using disks-i386\images-1.44\udma100-ext3. > > When I try to install the base from the network. > I get the following error. > > Failure trying to run: chroot /target mount -t proc proc/proc > > This happens for both testing and unstable network installs. > > -Tim. > > > -- > To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: Kernel 2.4.12 compile problem
I know this is probably silly, but I had a lot of headaches with kernel compiling and installation until I ran across the kernel-package package. I just made a kernel debian package using the 'make-kpkg' which that package provides yesterday, and it came off like a charm (2.4.12, too). Anyway, you may already be familiar with it, but if not, it's worth a look. --Daniel On Tue, Oct 23, 2001 at 11:09:07AM -0400, Wayne Topa wrote: > I have been compiling the 2.4.x series without problems until now. > I am running woody, last updated today, and find that I am getting > errors while doing make dep (?) of all things. Re: matlab6 & java
We had some trouble getting Matlab to go until we installed the en_US locale, or something like that. We're running Debian unstable, and used... um... dpkg-reconfigure locales or something like that, and clicked the box for the en_US one. As I recall. : ). I'm still a little bit newbie-ish. Does it show? Anyway, HTH. --Daniel T. ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) On Fri, Nov 02, 2001 at 10:52:34PM +0100, Mirek Dobsicek wrote: > Hi, > I'm in trouble ..
