Sorry - my error.I should have phrased this differently.
The detection I am refering to is that the installer detects the NIC as
being a sis900.Dhcp - no dice.I did give up on it because it looks like
the kernel on those images doesn't support anything else then ext2/3
file systems and thats what I want to avoid in the first place.
I did report some of this malaise to the debian-boot mailing list.Only
response I got was about not having enough memory.
Just use the 'boot.iso' if you don't have a problem with ext2/3.That
works fine for my sis900 and once that works you can update anything you
feel like - except the file system the OS is on.

Telepites & X Window bajok

1998-08-22 Thread Crash Override
Hello bello!
Hallottam errol a Debian-os levlistarol, s nekem is lenne nehany
kerdesem. A CHIPTAR 9-es CD-rol telepitem a LINUX-ot, de az nem talal
nehany file-t es konyvtarat installalaskor.
Ezek a kovetkezok: /usr/X11R6/bin/libXaw.so.6/
   /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6
   ---||-/libXext.so.6
   ---||-/libXext.so.6.0
   ---||-/libXext.so.6.1
   ---||-/libXext.so.6.3
   /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc
   /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers
   /etc/X11/config
   /usr/lib/libproc.so
Exeket kenytelen vagyok kezzel elkesziteni, de nehanyra (libXext.so.*)
meg mindig panaszkodik a telepito. Vajon mi lehet a hiba?

A masik problemam, hogy a telepites utan minden tokeletesen megy. Az X
is. De ha reboot-olas utan a _xinit_ parancsra _Command not found_ a
valasz. A _startx_ parancs pedig nem is inditja az X-et. Minden lefut
rendesen, a grafikus felulet felvillan es kilep. Szoval arra lennek
kivancsi, hogy a rendszer miert nem kepes elinditani az X-et a masodik
alkalommal? Valaki segithetne nekem, hogy a _xinitrc_ es_xserverrc_
file-oknak mit is kellene tartalmazniuk konkretan.
A valaszokat maganba leci, mert meg nem vagyok a listan.
Sega!
