Scott, I'm not sure how long it'll take, but on my PII 400 w/320 Meg RAM, it takes about 8 hours to transcode 390 megabyte divx to 50 minutes of DVD. I have no idea how the long the MOV files will take. I do know you will get better results if you can use the original source file vs. the MOV. Mozilla crashed like crazy for a new user, but was just fine for established users. What is really strange is that it "slowly" stabilized for the new user. What I did was: Remove the .mozilla directory for the new user to start fresh. Log into an established user account, startx, start mozilla. Open a terminal, sux - to new user (if you don't have sux installed, "xhost +" first, but do yourself a favor and install sux) type mozilla as new user. It worked! After this it worked a little better direct from the new user account, but still crashed. I repeated the above, except removing the .mozilla directory. After this it worked pretty much stable, (not sure, I may have gone through the above steps once more, again except for removing the .mozilla directory.) I'd love to file a bug report on this, but I have no idea where the problem is. I hope this works alright for you. Paul -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". In the setup printer dialog you /should/ be able to select Standard Command and pick your hp 710c Printer Queue from the dropdown list. I don't think you need to worry about the Printer Make / Printer Model section. If you don't have a print queue, you may need to install cupsys-bsd. My standard command is lp -s -d 'name_of_queue' Hope this helps. -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You can follow the instructions under "The Gimp" on http://www.linuxprinting.org/ppd-doc.html Basically, this involves selecting Adobe as the printer maker and PostScript Level 2 as the printer model. That should be about it ... Good Luck! Paul -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have a 712c, and have the same empty space. You could set up separate print queues at different media sizes / print quality under cups, but I don't think this printer line (710, 712, & 720) will ever be fully supported under Linux. I later purchased an Epson 785 EPX that prints beautifully under Linux. Unfortunately, I seldom print, and the print heads constantly clogged on me, so I gave the Epson away. The 712 always works, though for photos and artwork it leaves something to be desired. If you ever do find a better PPD or method of printing from gimp-print, I would be interested in hearing about it.
