Dear Jan,

As your adviced, I created /etc/resolv.conf with vim.
It contains "indonet.net.id 202.159.32.2"
Then, the result is error message dissappeared.
Unluckily, I still could not connect to internet.
Thank's anyway.

Display Set-Up

2004-10-08 Thread Endianto
Dear List Member,

I just installed Sarge by 13 CDROMS, the result is ok, except "low quality
display".
It might be I did an input incorrect data : vertical resolution and refresh
rate.
My question is how to correct it ?
Should I reinstall this Sarge ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Internal Modem

2004-06-05 Thread Endianto

  Dear List Members,

After reinstall Debian many times, finally KDE 3.1
running smoothly on top of Debian Woody
-2.4.18-bf2.4- on my Pentium III system.
My next target is connecting it to the
  net.
I already have internal modem Prolink V92 which is
  detected by system -lspci- as
"00:0b.0 Communication Controller: Conexant HSF 56k HSFi
  Modem (rev 01)"
Also I already have it's driver
  -hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb- downloaded from Linuxant
  web site.
When I tried to install this driver with command

  dpkg -i
  hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb
Then I got an error message :
  dpkg: error
  processing hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb (--install)
  :
cannot access archive: No such file or
  directory
  Errors encountered while processing
  :
   hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb

Any help would appreciated, thank's in
  advance.

  I can only guess that
  hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb iscorrupted.

I removed hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt04051300full_i386.deb and replaced it with the new
  one downloaded from linuxant.com
I see file size has been reduced when I copied it from /floppy -size
  939072- to /etc -size -655360-
Is it indicated corrupt file as you suspected?
If so, what should I do next?

If they supply an md5sum with the .deb, can you compare itto what
  md5sum says it should be?

  I can see md5sum in Linuxant.com but
I don't know what to compare to. Alternatively,
how did you "get" the .deb?  What did you use?

I get .deb from local vendor, I used 7 of 8
cdrom when I installed it on my PIII system with 256MB RAM, 20GB
Disk.Even better, give up and buy a real, controller based
  modem.

  Any recommended
modem?

As a friend suggestion, I boot from CDROM, using CD live Knoppix, then put
"root=/dev/hda1".
Nothings change.

Any advice will be appreciated
