Bug#557403: dolphin becomes laggy and cpu load jumps when viewing hidden files in home folders

2009-11-21 Thread jmemail

Package: dolphin
Version: 4:4.3.2-1
Severity: important

I've tested under two user accounts and the root account and all three exhibit
the
same behavior. When I choose to display hidden files in ~/ either through the
menu or
via alt+. dolphin consumes 100% of one cpu core and it becomes laggy while
navigating.
When navigating other folders, the problem seems to go away. Perhaps this is
due to the
number of .files and .folders in ~/? I use the command line mostly so I can't
say when
this actually started but I've only noticed this recently. Wiping out the .kde
folder
doesn't solve this behavior.

You can close this report. I've tracked the problem down to a QT library and
downgrading it fixes the problem.
