Bug#841502: konsole: Profile persisting
Package: konsole Version: 4:16.08.2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I have 2 profiles saved: 'terminal' (the default) and 'mutt' (used only for this MUA). Also I have 2 shortcuts to open konsole and mutt: winkey + T for Konsole and winkey + M for mutt (I have set execute in konsole with '--profile mutt' in this case). Until I use winkey+T KDE opens the terminal, but after I use winkey+M to open mutt then winkey+T still opens mutt (into a konsole with profile 'mutt') and when I close mutt also the konsole closes. Same situation when I try to open konsole by kde menu or by alt+F2 but not if I launch konsole inside a open konsole. Right mouse -> Switch Profile doesn't work. Thanks. Bug#794055: konsole: window size on next startup
Package: konsole Version: 4:15.04.3-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, after last upgrade seems that the "terminal size" of all my profiles aren't recognized. Even if the setting warns to disable "window size on next startup" in configuration, neither enable nor disable seems recognize my settings. Package: system-config-printer-kde Version: 4:4.3.2-1 Severity: normal *** Please type your report below this line *** Hello, accordingly to what found in the system-config-printer-kde bug reports I upgraded python-kde4 (and python-qt4-dbus) from unstable in the attempt to have a usable printer configuration in KDE4. Also, when clicking on the "Printer Configuration" icon in the System Settings and error window pops up saying: "The password may be incorrect, or the server may be configured to deny remote administration"; then the "No KCModule Bug" is shown in the main window. Bug#550620: system-config-printer-kde: "No KCModule Bug" still present
Hi again, I just tried to run the printer config as superuser for terminal: sudo /usr/bin/kcmshell4 system-config-printer-kde and the KCModule Bug does not show up anymore. Anyway, there is little clue that one has to run the printer settings as root from a terminal to avoid the ugly "no KCModule" error. I would have expected a greyed-out window telling me that only root could configure the printers. Also, when browsing the installed printers, the module keeps asking whether to save or discard the changes even if no change has been done. I am sorry for this second email, I should have tested the "sudo option" before. Thank you again. However I still don't get it, since sometimes I see the animated bubbles also when the cpu usage is relatively low. As far as I know, bubblemon animation should always show animated bubbles bubbling in the big bubble (sorry for the "bubblish" repetition!). The bubbling is faster when e.g. the cpu usage is high, otherwise is slower (I observed it when my bubblemon was showing the animation). As you can see in the attached image, I see no bubbles at all even if the cpu usage is 100% Thanks again. <>

Bug#569706: ktimetracker: Can't delete task when "Track Active Applications" is checked
Package: ktimetracker Version: 4:4.3.4-1 Severity: normal *** Please type your report below this line *** Hello, when the "Track Active Applications" option is checked in the clock menu it is not possible to delete any active task because a task for the "Deleting Task" window is created and selected; so, when deleting, I can only delete that given task and not what I want to delete. Here are the steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Open Kontact 2. Go to Time Tracker 3. Menu File -> New (Ctrl+N) 4. Menu Task -> New Task (Ctrl+T) 5. create the task, name it e.g. "test task" or whatever 6. Menu Clock -> Track Active Applications 7. select the previously created "test task" 8. Menu Task -> Delete (Del) now you won't be able to delete the task. The solution is to uncheck the "Track Active Applications", then delete the task and recheck the "Track Active Applications". Bug#945696: lokalize: Python2 removal in sid/bullseye
Looked into what's here, and it's really just 3 Python Kross scripts (i.e. optional extensions to the Qt application). Kross itself isn't ported yet (#936809). These are not used, unless the user manually installs them, by dragging the .rc file into the application, as described here [0] [0]: https://shaforostoff.blogspot.com/2009/07/testing-kde-43-translation-with.html They don't look particularly actively maintained. I tried running the one that doesn't need Kross (xliffmerge), and it blew up because it wasn't ported to Qt5, completely. Fedora has a commit that switched lokalize to Python 3 [1] but they've really just changed a dependency, that isn't being used. And, separately, dropped Python Kross support [2]. [1] https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/lokalize/c/3d6b3b18aa585bf5cfb958d9269788a06297a7b4?branch=master [2] https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/kf5-kross-interpreters/c/c471038238818285c9289236e9483ee60605879f?branch=master So, it'd be reasonable to just drop these scripts, and Recommends entirely until Kross is ported to Python 3, and they're known to work, again. Bug#1053408: qt6-webengine: FTBFS with re2 >= 20230601 (which requires abseil)
Source: qt6-webengine Version: 6.4.2-final+dfsg-11 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Affects: src:re2 The next RE2 transition is waiting for qt6-webengine to support libre2-11 (re2 >= 20230601), available in experimental. Package: konsole Version: 4:20.12.3-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, when restore the konsole at startup from previous session, disappear the application menu either in title bar (the burger icon) or in the panel bar (simply empty). Bug#1042077: sddm: 'us' keyboard on logout
Package: sddm Version: 0.20.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, because of other problems (I don't know if plasma or widgets, I must indagate) I need to do a logout after plasma has loaded. After that, the sddm login screen loses my 'it' keyboard layout (the first login is correct) and change to 'us'. I have tried with several PDF documents and always got the same problem. Likewise, I am not able to print a single-page PDF document. I can attach a PDF document that gives me the problem, if needed. Printing a single-page PS document instead seems to work. BTW, I want to thank you for all your efforts in delivering a great distribution. Bug#531221: okular: Arbitrarily enforces DRM

I've just read Pino Toscano's answer, and I found it a reasonable choice from an *upstream author point of view*. They want okular to fully implement the spec, to be able to sell it as a feature. Of course, downstream distribution editors (i.e., us) can make different choices, to better implement the philosophy of their distro. Considering that upstream already implemented the mechanism for choosing at runtime, I see an easy way out. - If okular has a system-wide setting "Obey DRM" which acts as a default for user choices, we have already won: the Debian package maintainer is fully in charge of making the choice of what that default should be. - If it has not, I guess adding support for such system-wide setting should be easy enough to do. FWIW If I were the package maintainer, my choice would be not to "Obey DRM" by default, but I'm not. Cheers. -- Stefano Zacchiroli -o- PhD in Computer Science \ PostDoc @ Univ. Re: Q: Key issues to address with Qt/KDE on Debian
Hi, it's not specific to Debian, but I think it would be great to address https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182672 (there is a bug entry in Qt's bug tracking about this problem: http://www.qtsoftware.com/developer/task- tracker/index_html?method=entry&id=230168 but nobody seems to take care of it) which makes most of the special keys (e.g., suspend to disk, suspend to ram) unusable in KDE. thanks, Stefano On Monday 15 June 2009 17:06:29 Knut Yrvin wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm working on a short list of issues which can be improved when packaging > and running KDE 4 on Debian.
