Bug#841502: konsole: Profile persisting

2016-10-21 Thread Stefano
Package: konsole
Version: 4:16.08.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have 2 profiles saved: 'terminal' (the default) and 'mutt' (used only for
this MUA).

Also I have 2 shortcuts to open konsole and mutt: winkey + T for Konsole
and winkey + M for mutt (I have set execute in konsole with '--profile
mutt' in this case).

Until I use winkey+T KDE opens the terminal, but after I use winkey+M to
open mutt then winkey+T still opens mutt (into a konsole with profile
'mutt') and when I close mutt also the konsole closes.

Same situation when I try to open konsole by kde menu or by alt+F2 but not
if I launch konsole inside a open konsole.

Right mouse -> Switch Profile doesn't work.

Thanks.

Stefano

Bug#794055: konsole: window size on next startup

2015-07-30 Thread Stefano
Package: konsole
Version: 4:15.04.3-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after last upgrade seems that the "terminal size" of all my profiles
aren't recognized.

Even if the setting warns to disable "window size on next startup" in
configuration, neither enable nor disable seems recognize my settings.

Also if I use right click mouse -> "switch profile" and I select another
profile, the size doesn't change.

Thanks.

Bug#550620: system-config-printer-kde: "No KCModule Bug" still present

2009-11-03 Thread Stefano
Package: system-config-printer-kde
Version: 4:4.3.2-1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Hello,

accordingly to what found in the system-config-printer-kde bug reports I
upgraded python-kde4 (and python-qt4-dbus) from unstable in the attempt to
have a usable printer configuration in KDE4.

However when accessing the Printer Configuration panel from System Setting the
error message reported by Wolfgang Schnitker is still present.

Also, when clicking on the "Printer Configuration" icon in the System Settings
and error window pops up saying: "The password may be incorrect, or the server
may be configured to deny remote administration"; then the "No KCModule Bug" is
shown in the main window.

Since the printer configuration is an essential module, I hope that this bug
will be solved as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Bug#550620: system-config-printer-kde: "No KCModule Bug" still present

2009-11-03 Thread Stefano
Hi again,

I just tried to run the printer config as superuser for terminal:

sudo /usr/bin/kcmshell4 system-config-printer-kde

and the KCModule Bug does not show up anymore.

Anyway, there is little clue that one has to run the printer settings as root
from a terminal to avoid the ugly "no KCModule" error. I would have expected a
greyed-out window telling me that only root could configure the printers.

Also, when browsing the installed printers, the module keeps asking whether to
save or discard the changes even if no change has been done.

I am sorry for this second email, I should have tested the "sudo option"
before.

Thank you again.

Thank you for the answer. However I still don't get it, since sometimes I see
the animated bubbles also when the cpu usage is relatively low.

As far as I know, bubblemon animation should always show animated bubbles
bubbling in the big bubble (sorry for the "bubblish" repetition!). The
bubbling is faster when e.g. the cpu usage is high, otherwise is slower (I
observed it when my bubblemon was showing the animation).

As you can see in the attached image, I see no bubbles at all even if the cpu
usage is 100%

Bug#560091: kget freezes right after completing its first download

Hello,

when I try to download anything (e.g pdf files, images) with kget, the program
simply freezes right after finishing it. The only way I can reset kget is to
kill it from terminal.

I tried removing the configuration files in ~/.kde/share/apps/kget/
and ~/.kde/share/config/kgetrc but nothing changed.

When running kget in a terminal, I couldn't find any useful information.

Thank you.

Bug#561486: plasma-widget-lancelot: lancelot lacks "save session" option

2009-12-17 Thread Stefano
Package: plasma-widget-lancelot
Version: 4:4.3.2-1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Hello,

recently KDE 4 reintroduced the possibility to save the current session
via a "save session" button on Kmenu. Unfortunately, lancelot lacks this
option.
Since I only use lancelot, if I want to save my current session, I have to add
the Kmenu widget, save the session and then remove the Kmenu widget
again.

That would be nice if this option were available in lancelot.

Many thanks.

Bug#569706: ktimetracker: Can't delete task when "Track Active Applications" is checked

2010-02-13 Thread Stefano
Package: ktimetracker
Version: 4:4.3.4-1
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Hello,

when the "Track Active Applications" option is checked in the clock menu
it is not possible to delete any active task because a task for the
"Deleting Task" window is created and selected; so, when deleting, I can
only delete that given task and not what I want to delete.

Here are the steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Open Kontact

2. Go to Time Tracker

3. Menu File -> New (Ctrl+N)

4. Menu Task -> New Task (Ctrl+T)

5. create the task, name it e.g. "test task" or whatever

6. Menu Clock -> Track Active Applications

7. select the previously created "test task"

8. Menu Task -> Delete (Del)

now you won't be able to delete the task.

The solution is to uncheck the "Track Active Applications", then delete
the task and recheck the "Track Active Applications". Indeed, it would be
useful if this behavior were not present.

I am using ktimetracker inside kontact.

Thanks.

Hi,

unfortunately, I wasn't able to apply the patch against the debian source
(4:4.3.4-1). However, I tried to patch the file by hand (see attached file) and
I successfully compiled it but it didn't solve the problem.

I am not sure whether I may have done something wrong during the patching
process or the patch is not effective against the bug.

Thanks.

PS

I am going to post this message to the kdebugs bug too.

Bug#569706: ktimetracker: Can't delete task when "Track Active Applications" is checked

2010-05-21 Thread Stefano
Hello,

I just tested the bug with the last ktimetracker package (version 4:4.4.3-1 in
testing)
and it seems to be solved.

However, now when tracking active applications the dialog windows are tracked
too.

I am going to file a bug for that in the kdebugs website as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Bug#945696: lokalize: Python2 removal in sid/bullseye

2020-04-02 Thread Stefano Rivera
Looked into what's here, and it's really just 3 Python Kross scripts
(i.e. optional extensions to the Qt application).
Kross itself isn't ported yet (#936809).

These are not used, unless the user manually installs them, by dragging
the .rc file into the application, as described here [0]

[0]:
https://shaforostoff.blogspot.com/2009/07/testing-kde-43-translation-with.html

They don't look particularly actively maintained. I tried running the
one that doesn't need Kross (xliffmerge), and it blew up because it
wasn't ported to Qt5, completely.

Fedora has a commit that switched lokalize to Python 3 [1] but they've
really just changed a dependency, that isn't being used.
And, separately, dropped Python Kross support [2].

[1]
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/lokalize/c/3d6b3b18aa585bf5cfb958d9269788a06297a7b4?branch=master

So, it'd be reasonable to just drop these scripts, and Recommends
entirely until Kross is ported to Python 3, and they're known to work,
again.

You are lucky :)

The only difference between the 2 profiles is the dimension of the window:
maybe it's one year that if I try to switch, nothing does...

Bug#1053408: qt6-webengine: FTBFS with re2 >= 20230601 (which requires abseil)

2023-10-03 Thread Stefano Rivera
Source: qt6-webengine
Version: 6.4.2-final+dfsg-11
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream
Affects: src:re2

The next RE2 transition is waiting for qt6-webengine to support
libre2-11 (re2 >= 20230601), available in experimental.

Upstream, RE2 added a dependency on Abseil, changing its API a little.

Chromium has supported this since around 116. (Debian's chromium
currently builds with the bundled re2). The relevant commits are by

Bug#990029: konsole: Application and global menu

2021-06-18 Thread Stefano Callegari
Package: konsole
Version: 4:20.12.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when restore the konsole at startup from previous session, disappear the
application menu either in title bar (the burger icon) or in the panel bar
(simply empty).

If I open a new Konsole, both are showing.

Other restored together applications, like System Settings or Pidgin, have
their menus on title bar and in the panel bar, so it seems a konsole
problem.

Thanks.

Kwin and X11.

I've tried wayland time ago, but some problems like no interaction between
applications (I don't remember the details), force me to back to X11.

This is Plasma Breeze Dark and Breeze for applcation style and window
decoration, where I did some little adjustament, nothing else. From
unstable/sid.

Uh... I hope my memory help me... ;)

I know two way: or you add the panel "application menu bar" or in the
default panel add the widget "global menu".

However you must running "application menu daemon" in Background Services
(needed also for the menu in the title bar).

It not seem me there needs more

Thanks

News.

Today, after sturtup, the "new" konsole has preserved both menus, instead the
"restored" has again the error.

Maybe is it some configuration kept from time ago? I don't remenber how many
restore has that konsole.

Tell me if you need some information or close the bug.

It seems no :(

This morning both "restored" and "new" are without menues.

Other 2 konsole that I've opened yesterday have its menu.

Is there something wrong after the first restore?

Ok.

It's not a big problem, only restricted to konsole AFAIK.

Bug#1042077: sddm: 'us' keyboard on logout

2023-07-26 Thread Stefano Callegari
Package: sddm
Version: 0.20.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

because of other problems (I don't know if plasma or widgets, I must
indagate) I need to do a logout after plasma has loaded.

After that, the sddm login screen loses my 'it' keyboard layout (the first
login is correct) and change to 'us'.

A similar situation here
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=808840#35 but the bug
seems open.

I don't know from when the problem start because I added the special chars
in my password few days ago and I was surprised to put wrong password after
every logout.

I've tried with "Breeze" and "Debian Breeze" which haven't a layout
selector.

~ $ cat /etc/default/keyboard
# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE

# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.

XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="it"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS=""

BACKSPACE="guess"

~ $ localectl
System Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8
VC Keymap: (unset)
   X11 Layout: it
X11 Model: pc105

No /etc/X11/xorg.conf nor "keyboard/layout" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d .

'sddm-greeter --test-mode' shows me the "Maui" login screen and only 'it' as
layout.

Thanks.

Stefano

Bug#1028539: kdevelop: Require a graphical su to install as root

2023-01-12 Thread Stefano Callegari
Package: kdevelop
Version: 4:22.12.0-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when I try to install a project from source, I have in the Build console

/home/stefano/projects/kdev-executebrowser.git/build> kdesudo -- make -j4
install
*** Failure: make has failed to start ***

because kdesudo is missing.

Searching where have set kdesudo, I found in project configuration (right mouse
-> Open configuration ...), under "Make" tab, a check "Install as root" who
active a selection whit 3 options:
- kdesu
- kdesudo
- gksu

but all of these are missing.

Is possible to write other, like su, but no prompt is showed for root password.

Leaving blank use kdesu by default.

May the solution be polkit-kde-agent-1?

However the 3 *su* options are obsolete and useless.

For now I must copy the command line and run it into a root konsole.

Thanks.

Stefano

Bug#488087: okular does not print the last page of a PDF document

2008-06-26 Thread Stefano Avallone
Package: okular
Version: 4:4.0.82+svn819867-1
Severity: normal

Okular does not print the last page of a multi-page PDF document, both
when I try to print all the pages and when I try to print the last page
only. I have tried with several PDF documents and always got the same problem.
Likewise, I am not able to print a single-page PDF document. I can
attach a PDF document that gives me the problem, if needed. Printing a
single-page PS document instead seems to work.

BTW, I want to thank you for all your efforts in delivering a great
distribution.

Regards,
Stefano

Bug#531221: okular: Arbitrarily enforces DRM

I've just read Pino Toscano's answer, and I found it a reasonable
choice from an *upstream author point of view*. They want okular to
fully implement the spec, to be able to sell it as a feature.

Of course, downstream distribution editors (i.e., us) can make
different choices, to better implement the philosophy of their
distro. Considering that upstream already implemented the mechanism
for choosing at runtime, I see an easy way out.

- If okular has a system-wide setting "Obey DRM" which acts as a
default for user choices, we have already won: the Debian package
maintainer is fully in charge of making the choice of what that
  default should be.

- If it has not, I guess adding support for such system-wide setting
should be easy enough to do.

FWIW If I were the package maintainer, my choice would be not to "Obey
DRM" by default, but I'm not.

Cheers.

I answer mainly with DPL hat on: I'll be happy to sponsor such a sprint.

See http://wiki.debian.org/Sprints for info, including friendly venues
we're in touch with (but feel free to propose new ones that better suit
your needs!).

Cheers.

Re: Q: Key issues to address with Qt/KDE on Debian

2009-06-15 Thread Stefano Avallone
Hi,

it's not specific to Debian, but I think it would be great to address

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182672

(there is a bug entry in Qt's bug tracking about this problem:
http://www.qtsoftware.com/developer/task-
tracker/index_html?method=entry&id=230168
but nobody seems to take care of it)

which makes most of the special keys (e.g., suspend to disk, suspend to ram)
unusable in KDE.

thanks,
Stefano

Please try to avoid explicit Python versions in Build-Depends, you
should be able to build-depend on "libpython3-dev, python3" (or
even-better: "libpython3-all-dev, python3-all")

Bug#1091417: krita FTBFS with Python 3.13 as default

2024-12-25 Thread Stefano Rivera
Source: krita
Version: 1:5.2.6+dfsg-2
Severity: normal
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: FTBFS
User: debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: python3.13-default

This package failed build from source when test-built against a version of
python3-defaults that has 3.13 as the default Python 3 version.

To reproduce this issue, build against python3-defaults (python3-all-dev etc.)
from Debian experimental.

What's new in Python 3.13:
