Bug#780588: kate: crash when I try to open/save a .bash/.sh file

2015-03-16 Thread Pablo
Package: kate
Version: 4:4.8.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Bash scripting.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

As the subject says, Kate crash when I try to save/open any file with .bash or
.sh extension. Kwrite doesn't show this issue.
gdb generates this trough the KDE assitant: http://pastebin.com/ZXduj7uj

Bug#755359: KDM starts when default.targe points to multi-user.target.

2015-07-02 Thread Pablo Mercader Alcántara
Hi dear Debian people:

I'm seeing in my brand new an shiny Debian 8 system that when I select
KDM as the display manager and set multi-user.target as my
default.target for systemd the system boots to the display manager any
way, and KDM starts. Does this has something to do with this bug of
not having a kdm.service file? or Should I report this behavior as a
separete bug?

I'm using KDM 4:4.11.13-2 on a i386 system with the linux kernel
version 3.16.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt11-1 (2015-05-24)

Bug#546262: kdm crash (due to a bug in libx11-6 o xserver in unstable?)

2009-09-11 Thread Pablo De Napoli
Subject: kdm crash (due to a bug in libx11-6 o xserver in unstable?)
Package: kdm
Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I want to report a bug that makes kdm crash, though I believe that the bug
is not caused by kdm itself but probably by the xserver in unstable (that
have changed the way of handling input devices, in particular the keyboard).
[with the xserver-xorg in lenny (version 1.7.20) things work fine, with
the version in unstable (1.7.4+4) kdm crashes.

Here is the back trace generated by kcrash: as you can see the segfault
occurs in src/xkb/XKBBind.c (line 320) from libx11:

Bug#546262: kdm crash (due to a bug in libx11-6 o xserver in unstable?)

2009-09-12 Thread Pablo De Napoli
Yes, it is a reproducible crash. For some strange reason it happens
not the first time you log in using kdm, but when you close your
session and log in again (after answering your username and password)

I know that I'm using an unsupported combination (for several reasons
I'm not planning to upgrade to KDE 4 for the moment, therefore I've
downgraded my X to stable, but I've build a Debian system in a chroot
in order to reproduce the bug) , but as Julien says that doesn't mean
that the bug needs not to be investigated, because it may reveal some
hidden bug in the new version of X in unstable.

I think that the X implementation should reliably run all the programs
that use the standard X libraries in the expected way (and I believe
that kdm 3.5.x is one of them), even if they are not included in
Debian.

I will rebuild libx11 without optimisation as requested and send you a
full backtrace.

Many thanks. Cheers,
Pablo

Bug#225091: kpackage: exec failed: No such file or directory

2004-01-31 Thread Pablo Diaz-Gutierrez
Package: kpackage
Version: 4:3.1.5-1
Severity: normal
Followup-For: Bug #225091

Kpackage does not let me install/uninstall any debian package, since it
fails giving the above error message, and no further information. It
might very well be just a configuration error, since some people running
the same version cannot reproduce it. In that case, probably somebody at
Debian should take care of it.

Thanks!

Bug#180631: Also coming in kde 3.2

2004-07-03 Thread Pablo Iranzo Gómez
Hi Marc
Yes it is more useful, I think that saving passwords would also a must
;), afaik, it only keeps info about "connection profile".

    Pablo

Bug#271889: krdc: Should depend on rdesktop

2004-09-15 Thread Pablo Iranzo Gómez
Package: krdc
Version: 4:3.3.0-2
Severity: normal
Justification: renders package partially unusable

Hi
After last krdc, I noticed that it didn't allow to coexist with
rdesktop, so after uninstalling rdesktop, krdc could be installed... the
problem appears when I try to connect via rdp://ip to a host, because krdc
says that there is no rdesktop available...

In brief: krdc should depend on rdesktop or at least, recommend it.
Also, krdc description should be updated to talk about its Terminal Server
Client capabilities, or Remote Desktop Connection.

Regards
    Pablo

PD: Should this report be set as severity grave or just normal?

Bug#284577: kdm does not start when rebooting

2004-12-07 Thread Pablo de Vicente
Package: kdm
Version: 3.2.2-1

I am expericiencing something awkward with a freshly installed PC (using
testing). kdm does not start when I reboot the computer. I get the following
error in /var/log/syslog:
Dec 2 21:18:30 localhost kdm: :0[2235]: IO Error in XOpenDisplay
Dec 2 21:18:30 localhost kdm[2170]: Display :0 cannot be opened
Dec  2 21:18:30 localhost kdm[2170]: Unable to fire up local display :0;
disabling.

but once the computer has started if I run:
   /etc/init.d/kdm start
it works fine.

Kdm version is 3.2.2-1 with Debian testing. Before filing a bug I would like
to know if somebody sees the same behaviour and if there is an explanation/
solution.

I suspect this happens with new installations and not with upgraded systems
from Woody to Sarge, because I have seen the problem with 2 new hosts and not
seen it in 2 upgraded systems.

thanks
