Bug#1073512: kwin-wayland: when opening a new window above an existing one the lower one gets the focus

2024-06-16 Thread Michael Becker

Package: kwin-wayland
Version: 4:5.27.11-1+b1
Severity: important

I have thunderbird open full screen. When opening a new window via Ctrl-N to
send an email the below window gets the focus.
This is extremly annoying because thunderbird might perform actions on the list of emails below the new-mail window if
you start typing without changing the focus with a mouse click.

Window behaviou is configured "Activation on mouse contact - priority for
mouse".
If I open the new-mail window by mouse click it works as expected – the new
window gets the focus.
Sometimes also opening the window by keyboard works but most time it results in
focus for the thunderbird main window.

Bug#1073512: further information

2024-06-19 Thread Michael Becker
I have ten virtual desktops of which one is used for thunderbird. If I move to that desktop using the keyboard and open
a new mail window using the keyboard the underlying main window receives the focus. If I close the new mail window via
keyboard and directly open a new one via keyboard it receives the focus as expected.

Also if I have sent a mail and open a second new mail window it directly
receives the focus.

So the problem only seems to occur if I switch to a different virtual desktop and open a new window via keyboard
shortcut on that desktop.

Bug#1104038: kdeconnect: only loading a connected phone is nerve-racking

2025-04-24 Thread Michael Becker

Package: kdeconnect
Version: 24.12.0-1+b1
Severity: normal

if I try to load a phone via USB without mounting it I often have the problem
that the dialog at all costs wants to connect the camera
every some seconds the dialog opens to ask if I want to download pictures using
gwenview
that is really nerve-racking
in these situations there seems to be no other solution as mounting the phone
there should be an option "load only" as on the phone itself which stops this
dialog
from popping up

Thanks for the answer.
They are set as expected:
Backword Word --> Ctrl left
Forward Word --> Ctrl right
nevertheless konsole only performs Backward/Forward one character

Works for me under Wayland.

Can you check what you have in System Settings / Shortcuts / Common Actions /
Navigation for the Backward Word and Forward Word actions ?

Bug#1099101: konsole: Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-Right no longer move back/forward one word

2025-02-28 Thread Michael Becker

Package: konsole
Version: 4:24.12.0-1
Severity: normal

in line editing in konsole no longer interprets Ctrl-Left/Ctrl-Right as back/forward one word but as back/forward one
character

that's especially confusing for me because thunderbird/firefox and emacs use it
for back/forward one word
