Bug#291019: kmail: Keep messages on server for X days after download

2005-01-18 Thread Matteo Calorio
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.1-3
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***
Now AFAIK KMail lets you keep messages on server or delete them after you
checked for new emails. IMHO it would be useful if there were an
"intermediate" option that let you keep messages on server for a nuber of
days specified by user and then delete them. This can be useful for example
when you download email via POP3 and you want to let them on server just in
case you need them when you access your mailbox via webmail (but you don't
want your message box fills itself) or when you receive spam and you want to
mark messages as spam at your provider (with GMX I have to go to www.gmx.net,
open the message and then mark it as spam). Hope this helps and thanks for
your great work!

Bug#292133: kmail: archiving emails

2005-01-25 Thread Matteo Calorio
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.3.1-3
Severity: wishlist

*** Please type your report below this line ***
It would be nice, for archiving purposes, that Kmail would permit more control
on mail attachments it shows, such as a "delete from message" option on mouse
right click.

Also for archiving purposes, it would be great that Kmail would allow more
control when saving messages to a file, such as a options for header
selection (I would like to save just From, To, Subject, Date, CC, BCC headers
and trash others), separators... and a choice like "overwrite/append" when
saving to an existing file.

Anyway, I think you already made a great work, thanks!

Bug#292310: korganizer: printing TODO list puts a wrong month in the upper right corner

2005-01-26 Thread Matteo Calorio
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:3.3.1-3
Severity: minor

*** Please type your report below this line ***
When I print TODO list, a wrong month (in the past) results in the upper
right corner. It seems the date range can't be updated nor automatically, nor
manually from the print form. In the same form it would be nice if I could
choose something like "print all categories"/"print just following
categories". Thanks for your attention!

Bug#294549: kontact: News sources doesn't show in summary

2005-02-17 Thread Matteo Calorio
Hello and sorry for the time it took to me to reply...

ZR> I have the same problem, altough I would like to note, that it works
ZR> occasionally for me. That is sometimes nothing is there, then when I
ZR> return to the summary some feeds appear.

I solved my problem installing "dcoprss" package (and so also "librss1"
package) and manually copying libkontact_newstickerplugin.la and
libkontact_newstickerplugin.so into /usr/lib/kde3/. So, at the end, for me
was a problem of missing dependencies. Thanks anyway for your email!

Hope this helps,
  Matteo

Bug#714049: [kmail] Inline images not display correctly

2013-06-25 Thread Matteo Calorio
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello, I use feed2imap to follow some feeds. Among others I follow some eBay
RSS search results and feed2imap converts any item into an HTML email with the
associated image inline. This way I get hundreds messages per day but when I
read them with Kmail, images seems to be displayd randomly: sometimes the
correct one, sometimes previous one... If I scroll through messages back and
forward sometimes the same message displays a different image. A strange
behaviour, it seems some ways images stay cached.

Another point is that message expiration with permanent delete only for read
messages, also deletes unread ones.

Thanks,
  Matteo

Bug#725911: ark: incompatible with latest unrar's output format

2013-10-09 Thread Matteo Cortese
Package: ark
Version: 4:4.10.5-1
Severity: normal

Ark suggests either unrar (non-free) or unrar-free in order to correctly
display and unpack RAR archives. Please note that such suggests is
unversioned.

The version of unrar in Wheezy was 1:4.1.4-1 and it worked quite well.

In Jessie, however, unrar transitioned from the 4.x series to the 5.x
series. In the transition, the output format *drastically* changed,
and Ark cannot deal with it anymore.

This is an example of the output of unrar 4.x, with its typical 'tabular'
style (which, by the way, is very similar to the output of unrar-free). I
invoked unrar with the same options as used by Ark itself. The text spans
79 columns, I hope it doesn't get wrapped by some mail processing.

In both cases I cut the output after the first 5 items, as they should be
enough to show the point.

I don't think that the issue can be solved hacking at the
dependency level, using e.g. versioned suggests: unrar and unrar-free are
managed through the alternatives framework, so there is no guarantee of
which version the user has configured.

Instead, the issue should probably be forwarded upstream, and solved by a
major rewrite of the parser in Ark (and the new parser should be so smart
as to tell apart the three formats: unrar 5.x, unrar 4.x and unrar-free).

Yes, as it turns out, it's already been reported upstream. Ark 4.11.2
(currently in experimental) should solve the issue. Hope we'll see it
in testing real soon.

Bug#941351: peruse: Peruse fails to start

2019-09-29 Thread Matteo Settenvini
Package: peruse
Version: 1.2+dfsg+20190713-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

attempting to run peruse (or perusecreator) from the command line
results in the following output:

~$ peruse
Warning: Ignoring XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland on Gnome. Use
QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland to run on Wayland anyway.

(peruse:9225): Gtk-WARNING **: 13:14:48.393: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:6:20:

Peruse then fails to start and crashes.

Apparently this is an issue with
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/org/kde/kirigami.2/templates/SwipeListItem.qml:

   function updateVisibleActions(definitelyVisible = false) {

Default values for function parameters are not supported.
It should be:

   function updateVisibleActions(definitelyVisible) {
if (definitelyVisible === undefined) definitelyVisible = false;

Unfortunately, then it fails on a missing component:

(peruse:10096): Gtk-WARNING **: 13:24:30.678: Theme parsing error:
gtk.css:6:20: The 'gtk-key-bindings' property has been renamed to '-gtk-k

Although the package name is kwin-x11, the binary is kwin_x11.

Depending on how you're running kwin your likely to have better results if you
wait for today's updates (which should include KDE 4 -> Plasma 5 if you're
doing this in KDE). If you aren't running it from inside KDE, there should
also be an updated kwin that sets /etc/alternatives/x-window-manager
correctly. Finally, if you stay on KDE4, add a symlink from /usr/bin/kwin_x11
to /usr/bin/kwin and that should help. That will be included in the next kwin
upload, but we're now caught up in the gcc5 transition, so it may be awhile
before that's uploaded.

If any of those thing help, please close the bug as we've got others that
cover those cases.

Bug#612769: kmail: segfaults when choosing English dictionary

2011-02-10 Thread Matteo Cypriani
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.7-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

Kmail (or Kontact) segfaults when I try to choose any of the English
dictionary when composing a mail. I do that with the menu Tools ->
Spell-checking (not sure of the menu title in English), then chosing any
flavour of English language. It is 100% reproducible.

All French language flavours work, and Hebrew too (I can't remember to
have installed any Hebrew dictionary, but anyway…).

I don't know what dictionary are used by kdepim (I think it's aspell and
ispell?), so just in case:
$ aptitude search -F '%c %M %p' --disable-columns ~ispell
i aspell
i aspell-en
i aspell-fr
i ispell
i A libaspell15
i A libgtkspell0
i A libhunspell-1.2-0
i myspell-en-gb
i myspell-en-us
i myspell-fr

Regards,

  Matteo

Bug#582953: kmail deleted all non-local incoming mail settings on upgrade

2011-02-13 Thread Matteo Cypriani
Hi,

The same thing just happened again, with Kontact 4:4.4.7-3 (sid): error
messages, mails deleted, Akregator feed list corrupted, preferences
forgotten, etc.

It would be really nice if someone was interested in solving this bug.
Please tell me if there is anything I can do to help.

Cheers,
  Matteo

Bug#582953: Kmail deleted all my local mail

2011-09-15 Thread Matteo Cypriani
Hi,
That reminds me I forgot to update this bug report.
I did not experience the problem for some time now, and I think it is related
with the filesystem I use for my /home: I moved from ZFS-Fuse to ext4. That
said, it may be related to ZFS-Fuse, but other users experienced a similar
problem on other FS (Juha on XFS). Anyway, Kmail/Kontact should better handle
its files (missing sync somewhere creating corrupted files in certain
circumstances?), and do not blindly delete all the stuff like that.
Cheers,
  Matteo

Bug#256862: kmenuedit: Same on my machine: I think I got the cause...

2004-07-30 Thread Matteo Migliavacca
Package: kmenuedit
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #256862

I had the same behaviour on my machine and I found that this was
caused by having a .config (a kernel sample config) in my home
directory.

This caused:
trying to create local folder: Not a directory
failed to create /home/migliava/.config/menus/
kmenuedit: WARNING: Could not read
/home/migliava/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu

on my machine. moving .config out of the way solved the issue.

I'm wondering if this would also be the case for the others
experiencing this bug.

Maybe we should report it upstream for proper actions.

Packages affected by this same (almost) issue are three, all Qt/KDE
connected, namely:
kitra, kstars (#905034) and libkf5kdcraw (#905035).

I'm not going to upload libraw 0.19.0 earlier than next week, at least.

Cheers.

Mirco Miranda at [1] explained the issue here.
We/you simply need to wait for transition to end.

Cheers.
