Bug#804694: libqt5xcbqpa5 SIGSEGV crashes sporadically at QXcbWindow::handleClientMessageEvent
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Thanks for your efforts. It seems like the bug vanished kind of. Quassel sometimes still goes away, but without a SIGSEGV, this is another problem. I updated gnome and mutter due to other problems to the unstable versions (3.18.2-1) last week. Since then it seems to be okay. So maybe the QT crash was caused by an error with the window manager. Bug#832709: [kmail] Headers settings not remembered
I have the same problem. Found this bug report for Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1422626 The Workaround also works for me: 1. Load Kmail 2. Hit "Settings->KMail" 3. Press OK (no need to change anything, just hit OK) - After this the settings appear to reload. regards Markus Köberl
Bug#756411: Reason found
Hello, more or less by accident I have found the reason. The distorted appearance comes from setting "Composit-Type" to Xrender and "Qt-System" to Nativ. All other settings work. Especially for desktop effects OpenGL is needed. Markus

Bug#699098: kdepim-groupware: GroupDAV not available as Akonadi Resource
Package: kdepim-groupware Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1 Severity: normal Problem: When I press the green "+"-symbol in korganizer I get the possibility to add a GroupDAV ressource. But this is not available, when I want to add an akonadi resource by: 1.) choosing Akonadi-Ressource and then saying "Manage Calendar Sources" 2.) or when directly trying to add a ressource in the Akonadi Settings (Btw. The akonadi settings are not available in the system settings, which seems to be an unrelated additional bug?) Desired Outcome: I would like to follow the tutorial as shown in: http://owncloud.org/support/synchronisation/kde/ But as described above, the "DAV groupware resource" is missing. Possible Problem: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=94584 claims that this problem occurs when KDE and KDE PIM version do not match correctly. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kdepim-groupware depends on: ii kdepim-runtime 4:4.4.11.1-6 ii libc6 2.13-37 ii libkabc4 4:4.8.4-2 ii libkcal4 4:4.8.4-2 ii libkde3support44:4.8.4-4 ii libkdecore54:4.8.4-4 ii libkdepim4 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.8.4-4 ii libkio54:4.8.4-4 ii libkpimutils4 4:4.8.4-2 ii libkresources4 4:4.8.4-2 ii libqt4-dbus4:4.8.2+dfsg-10 ii libqt4-qt3support 4:4.8.2+dfsg-10 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.2+dfsg-10 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.2+dfsg-10 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.2+dfsg-10 ii libstdc++6 4.7.2-5 ii perl 5.14.2-16 Versions of packages kdepim-groupware recommends: ii kdepim-wizards 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1 kdepim-groupware suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". First thank you for your effort! I cant really guarantee that there are problems in my configuration (even though I tried it with complete new users and on three indepently installed machines), but I am afraid there are some (very annoying!) bugs left in kate, at least in VI mode. I hope it can be fixed for wheezy. This is the most important bug and the easiest one to reproduce. I hope the instructions below are more clear. > Please create a new user account and try again. Bug#796166: qtbase-opensource-src: -reduce-relocations breaks build when all hardening build flags are enabled
Package: src:qtbase-opensource-src Version: 5.4.2+dfsg-8 Severity: normal Hi, I discovered that freeciv, particularly the freeciv-qt client, fails to build from source when I enable all hardening build flags including -fPIE,-pie (position independent executable). This has never been an issue before and it seems this regression surfaced with the introduction of GCC-5. I think Qt's -reduce-relocation option reduces our ability to harden our binaries. To workaround this bug I had to change from export DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS = hardening=+all to export DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS = hardening=+all,-pie This appears to be not the best solution and Freeciv is not the only affected package: https://bugs.debian.org/792592 There are similar bug reports for other distributions: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/45283 and there is also a related GCC-5 bug report https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=65886 According to the changelog this regression might have been introduced on 24 July 2015 by Rohan Garg. I'm not sure about the severity but I would really like to see the old behaviour again. Freeciv builds different game clients for playing the game and one of them is the Qt client. Now I am either forced to build all binaries without -pie or to heavily patch the build system. Of course Freeciv upstream doesn't consider this to be a Freeciv specific bug. > Actually this behavior was introduced by me while uploading 5.4.2 to the > archive. > > The problem is actually that gcc's upstream do not consider the gcc bug you > noted above as a bug. Why would we need a BTS if every maintainer decided to close bug reports and requested to open them upstream instead? You should have a far better insight into your package than I have and you might be able to convince upstream, if you have worked with them before. Why would they listen to me, if my own distribution maintainer closes the bug report right away? Regards, Markus signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

And if Qt is not passing the right flags (which I doubt looking at the > lastests KDE builds) please do file a bug against src:qtbase-opensource-src > specifying the problem. Freeciv and Poppler use autotools for building their packages. If I read the Qt upstream bug correctly (https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-45755) they consider autoconf-based Qt builds to be a side issue which is a pity. Apparently Freeciv uses -fPIC for the Qt build but it gets overridden when -pie and all other hardening build flags are appended to the command-line and this breaks the whole build. I'm not aware of a simple way to build certain components of Freeciv (SDL- or GTK client) with -pie and the Qt client without -pie. My Freeciv bug report can be found here: http://gna.org/bugs/?23797 Thanks for your other explanations. I'm sure you guys do a great job with maintaining Qt and KDE as a whole for Debian. Kate make python code false
Hi!, Kate make python code false, Kate puts the Python source code is not correctly: Kate brings a 2 characters instead of 4 and 8 after a tab! but is not allowed under the Directive http://python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/ Deutsch: Kate rückt den Python Quelltext nicht richtig ein: Kate rückt 2 Zeichen ein und nach bei 8 ein Tab! aber ist laut Richtlinie nicht erlaubt Dort steht: http://wiki.python-forum.de/PEP%208%20%28%C3%9Cbersetzung%29 Code-Aufbau Einrückung Benutze 4 Leerzeichen pro Einrückungsebene. While e.g. Shell Scripts will only be displayed instead of executed on noexec mounted Filesystems when you click on them - .desktop Files will be executed bypassing noexec security. > Solution: > > Change .desktop file to execute the command inside only if they have > +x bit or - better - change those launcher files so that the first line > would be #!/usr/bin/desktop-launch, with the rest of the script following > afterwards. With the execute bit set this would become merely a normal > script, which is interpreted by the specified separate 'shell' or utility, > rather than something integrated into the desktop Just checking the executable bit won't help with the noexec issue, so the shebang seems to be the better solution. The fact that .desktop files can have any Symbol (e.g. like a Openoffice Document) but can execute arbitrary *remote* Code makes this issue really dangerous for end-users. Bug#672992: kmail: Mailing lists are not resolved
I have to add: this time my above mentioned workaround does not work. The culprit seems to be akonadi 1.7.2-1. Downgrading to akonadi 1.6.2-2 solved the problem here. The downgrade is a bit awkward (using snapshot.debian.org) but it works. Unfortunatelly I cannot provide any debug informations but reassigning the bug to akonadi seems to be appropriate. Bug#690945: [kmail] Distribution lists do not work as expected
It's connected to the akonadi upgrade to akonadi 1.7.2. This bug is an on and off for years now (there is somewhere a bugreport at akonadi as well). Most new installations will not see that, I don't know about upgrades, I ran into this bug and it was solved with a recommendation from KDE userbase: http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting#KAddressBook_upgrade Scroll down to the chapter "To reset nepomuk and the akonadi system in KMail 2" which suggests: akonadictl stop rm -rf ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/* akonadictl start # we should also clean KDE temporary folders before start KMail rm -rf /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER /tmp/ksocket-$USER /tmp/kde-$USER But be aware: my addresses and distribution lists were all gone. I'm sure there is a way to get them back but I cannot be bothered at the moment to track that problem which might be connected to previous fruitless attempts to solve this bug. Bug#532312: konsole: Resizing Konsole is slow and difficult
Package: konsole Version: 4:4.2.2-1 Severity: normal When I drag the edge of a Konsole window, the window takes several seconds to resize. If I release the mouse before the edge of the window has caught up, the window is not resized correctly. Package: kate Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: minor "apt-cache show kate" shows that kate is for "Editing of big files". As I have some problems editing large files with other editors (nedit turned out to be the only usable one, so I use it despite its lesstif related problems), I installed kate and tried to open my first large .sql file. On my Pentium M 1.7Ghz, it needs some minutes 100% CPU to refresh its screen. It gets better when I disable dynamic word wrapping, but then it breaks completely when I scroll to the right. I've to admit that it's a special file, it's a PostGIS SQL dump of an admin area, so of the 2.7 MB, there are 12 lines of SQL commands and one line with 2.7MB length. Bug#338756: konqueror: reproducable crash on specific url

My (Home) Sid Konqueror works with the second (http://www.nitot.com/standards/blog/archives/2003_janvier.php) URL fine. But still crashs with the first (http://www.maennerseiten.de/orgasmus.htm) Url. My Sid Konqueror at work don't crash with the first url. So i have done some further investigations. at first downloaded like a browser (wget -p http://www.maennerseiten.de/orgasmus.htm) And the i have to comment only the embedded stuff out, to get it working in konqueror. That looks like more a problem with my kde (KParts/Kio stuff?) setup then with konqueror. If i start from the command line with in, i got following message: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/konqueror orgasmus.htm kio (KMimeType): WARNING: KServiceType::offers : servicetype audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin not found KCrash: Application 'konqueror' crashing... So akode needs a rebuild against the new libjack to be installable again. -- System Information: Debian Release: sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2-686 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#543733: Possible Solution
Hi, I recently experienced the same problem: Comic did not get new comic-strips, only the saved ones could be displayed. If you have installed network-manager but use the "classical" way with /etc/network/interface, the not configured network-manager seems to block comic from receiving new strips. The fast way to check this is to restart network-manager. After that Comic worked for me again, thus I deinstalled network-manager.
