Korganizer Crash in Edit Mode

2005-03-22 Thread Greg
Please forward below report to applicable party(s). Thanks.

Linux version 2.6.8 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.3.5
(Debian 1:3.3.5-12)) #1 SMP Mon Mar 14 19:55:38 EST 2005
The below crash incident has been occurring in several previous
kernel, Debian and KDE versions.

KOrganizer crashes virtually everytime I attempt to edit
an event. The moment my cursor moves in the event description
field it crashes. Below is the debug symbols trace output, here is
the output I get in the terminal screen when running it at the
terminal prompt:

QLayout "unnamed" added to QFrame "unnamed", which already has a layout
KDGantt::Overzoom:Rescaling from Hour to Day
KCrash: Application 'korganizer' crashing...

Debug symbol trace output after crash:

Bug#730423: qtchooser: could not find a Qt installation of

2013-11-24 Thread Greg Sharp
Package: qtchooser
Version: 31-g980c64c-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I suffer from the seemingly common problem of qtchooser not finding
its configuration directories. (cf #710773, #726989).

For example, with qt4-default installed, the following occurs:

$ qtchooser -list-versions
$ qtchooser -print-env
qtchooser: could not find a Qt installation of ''

Unsetting XDG_CONFIG_DIRS does solve the problem, but my expectation
would be a working package as default.

Is this an issue with qtchooser, or is it xfce shouldn't set
XDG_CONFIG_DIRS, or somewhere else?

Thank you,
Greg

Bug#479704: klettres: drops keystrokes when you type fast

2008-05-06 Thread Greg Kochanski

Playing on level 3 (and maybe elsewhere),
klettres gives you two-letter syllables to type.
If you type the second letter to soon, it is
lost. This makes the game very painful

Bug#533271: konqueror: Separate important cookies from the junk ones

2009-06-15 Thread Greg Kochanski
Package: konqueror
Severity: wishlist

It would be good if konqueror had a way to keep cookies that
you really care about separate from the usual collection of
trash cookies that one collects while surfing. That way,
you could have a separate expiration policy (trash expires
in 24 hours, *my* cookies never expire).Or, if you clear
private data, it wouldn't clear your important cookies.

Why? Because cookies can represent subscriptions and
logins. They can represent money you have paid to access
a web site. They can represent the effort you spent to
rummage under your keyboard to find the password for a site :).
You don't want to throw that kind of stuff
away, at least not without explicit manual confirmation.

On the other hand, most (99%) of cookies are either
(a) advertising/tracking cookies which have no value to
the user, or (b) represent the current state of one's progress
through a website (which rarely has value beyond a day).

The world has given us two types of cookies, so the browser
should help us handle each group appropriately.

I would suggest this:
*If a cookie is in the "important" class, it will *only* be accepted
on positive manual confirmation. So, a website would (somehow)
ask that certain cookies be given the manual treatment.
*Then, these cookies would have a separate expiration policy and
would not be affected by the default "clear private data" operation.

Bug#448490: kate: Kate has no crash recovery

2007-10-29 Thread Greg Kochanski
Package: kate
Version: 4:3.5.7.dfsg.1-1
Severity: important

Kate does not store unsaved work, so if
the network connection (or kate) crashes you will lose all your
unsaved work. I encontered this problem when running kate
remotely, over X; the network went down briefly
and everything that I did evaporated.

Now, I'm sure someone will tell me "save your work",
but many modern text editors like vim and Word (and
a few others I might mention) save state to allow
recovery from a crash. I assumed that kate also
did so.

This is an important bug because an unbiassed observer
(i.e. someone who hadn't just lost two hours of work)
told me "Well, cross *that* editor off your list."
Thus, it is a severe enough problem to render kate
unusable -- at least in competition with other editors.

Bug#234583: #231196 -- raise to critical

2004-03-01 Thread Greg Burley
Severity: critical

I have attempted to raise the severity of bug#231196 since there are
other TLS/SSL issues queueing up in the bug list eg. #234583 and the
original #205452 reporting lost TLS features following the patch that
replaced openssl with gnutls in the openldap source.

So far no response from the package maintainers on these issues. If you
are going to patch a package downstream without using upstream resources
to verify that the patch has not clobbered documented behaviours then
you are going to have to be more vigilant to bug reports on the package.

The alternative is to have the patch accepted upstream which means doing
the hard yards to get it working correctly. Along with offering two
versions of this package one that is openssl dependant and one that is
gnutls dependant in the meantime so that users who are relying on ldap .

cheers,
greg burley

Very sorry for the typo confusion, you probably worked it out that it
