Bug#762593: Deadlocks since upgrade to version > 4.8
Package: krosspython Version: 4:4.13.1-1 Severity: important Hello, Since an upgrade from wheezy to testing, one personal application using krosspython is deadlocked. My workflow is pretty simple: a first script is called by using Kross::Action->callFunction. I'm sure that the first script is done before to call a second one, in the same way. The second never start, and block the application. This behavior comes from the line "PyGILState_STATE gilstate = PyGILState_Ensure();", added between wheezy and the current testing. I use internal mutex in my application, so I'm sure to not run two actions in parallel. I'm sure that the first script is done before to run the second one. So, if I did not missed something, I think that the bug is in the krosspython library. One hypothesis is that my python script run several python threads, and that the PyGILState_Release at the end of callFunction is not enough to manage python threads. Bug#975919: okular: Back and Forward navigation functions are broken
Package: okular Version: 4:20.08.3-1 Severity: important Tags: upstream patch Dear maintainers, Recent updates to okular have completely broken its Back and Forward navigation functions (those found in the Go menu and bound to Alt-Shift-Left and Alt-Shift-Right by default). This has been reported upstream at [1] and fixed in commit 585340cef[2] (link found in this comment[3] by Nate Graham on the bug report page[1]). I have rebuilt okular 4:20.08.3-1 with the attached debdiff, which merely applies the patch corresponding to [2]. This fixes the issue for me. Hope this helps other users. kcontrol depends on perl-suid, which is deprecated
Hi, On my last sid upgrade, kcontrol wanted to pull perl-suid. However, perl-suid's description reads: Usage of this program is now strongly deprecated upstream and support (along with this package) will probably be removed in 5.10. Since perl-suid presumably contains at least one setuid root binary, I am therefore not very enthousiastic about installing it. Would it make sense to change the Depends on perl-suid into a Recommends? (I don't know much about kcontrol; it may be that it relies heavily on perl-suid, in which case my suggestion is not practicable) Thanks. PS: please Cc me on replies. -- Florent
